I’m really happy with what Capcom have been doing with the series with VII and Village, and all the remakes. They have really been knocking it out the park. All I need now is a Dino Crisis remake! 😁
I used to watch my buddy play Nemesis on Dreamcast but he never let me play, RE4 was the first RE game I ever dove into myself. I’ve played it on every platform but pc, probably around 400 hours total. After putting six hours into the new demo, it’s safe to say that I’m beyond hyped for Friday.
I was around 12 when re4 came out. I didn’t have a GameCube but had a ps2. I remember watching g4 cover the game and getting a 5/5 it looked amazing. My mom got me the game I instantly called my best friend up to come over after school that weekend, we stayed up all night playing it. We still are friends and bond over re4. It’s been my favorite game since. I’m excited for this remake. Me and that same friend plan on hanging out and playing the remake together. I had re2 for the ps1 but never played it, I liked scary movies but not really games. Re4 opened me up to the resident evil series. I loved village, I bought the re2 remake. But 4 is so special to me.
not only was resident evil 4 my first RE game, but along with san andreas and manhunt 2, they were my first games ever. I was honestly almost brought to tears playing the demo, remembering the countless playthroughs with my dad
i’m a first time resident evil player, my dad used to play it when i was a kid but it always looked too scary for me. Just recently finished both 2 and 3’s remakes and absolutely loved them. I was so excited when i realized the 4th one was right around the corner.
@@DonYoGi8331 well i never played the originals, so all i know is the remakes. I did think it was a bit short but i enjoyed it, i think jill and carlos are very interesting characters.
RE4 was only recently eclipsed by the RE2 remake as my favourite entry in the series. This remake had a lot to live up to, so I'm really happy to see all the glowing praise!
demos definitely need to make a comeback even though it was just 30 minutes, it sold me on the game felt like i was playing a sequel to re village and i really enjoyed my time with that game
100% agree, the Maiden demo was such a treat when it first came out, and this Chainsaw Demo was pretty much the perfect way to hook any new player to RE4’s story
Super pumped to play this again since I haven't played it a single time since completing it in 2005 while still quoting "Whudderyuh buuyin??" ever since!
I'm not done with my first playthrough yet but one thing I find they managed to do incredibly well is make the game feel scarier than the orignal. They'll send you waves of enemies and when you think you are done because you start being low on resources, they send you an elite.
Capcom has been the best devs in gaming since 2017. RE7,RE8, MH GU, World, Iceborne, MH Rise, Sunbreak, RE2 and RE3 remakes, RE4 remake.. all these hits in the same amount of years it takes some studios to release things like Cyberpunk. Capcom is insane.
My favorite thing to hear in your before you buy, was that control and movement felt "off" or maybe just different than you expect when playing in the world of RE4. Because that was my main take away from the demo. But you mentioned after kind of rewiring your brain to the new style, it sinks in and is enjoyable... I REALLY needed to hear that. So thank you for the assurance.
Leon definitely feels like he moves around like he ate too many donuts but that's probably cause most third person shooters these days are fast paced with lots of momentum to your character. I kept instinctively pressing the button that made you duck as if it were a dodge roll.
RE4 was my first Resident Evil game as well. To see the Village again and fighting with the Ganado and Dr. Salvador in the demo was kinda nostalgic. Really looking forward to the RE4 Remake and I'm very curious what they've changed compared to the original. Now I know how the people who played the original RE2 felt when Capcom released the RE2 Remake.
Capcom is absolutely killing it right now. They're simultaneously releasing new numbered entries while remaking earlier entries of the same series. I hope Capcom remakes everything before RE 7.
Dude, I just finished the original GameCube version 2 times in a row, on both Normal and Professional difficulties and you know what? I have to do it once again , this time the PS2 version, because the GC original doesn't include Ada's campaign... Besides I still have to beat that Verdugo mothertrucker, I failed to do that on my last attempt because I accidentely stubbed the merchant just before that fight (I was trying to down a bat standing too close to the poor guy), so I had no RPG and had to escape from him. Man, I don't remember playing through the same game three times in a row since my childhood! This game is simply a masterpiece, it didn't need a remaster actually, imho.
I can't wait to play, I've even stopped myself from playing the demo to get that real adrenaline rush when the town swarms you. Would love to see them do RE5
dude no the demo is sick its got its own "mad chainsaw" mode unique to the demo only also secrets like emptying the inventory before entering the village gates will allow you to enter a new sewer area, worth it since im pretty sure those things wont be a part of the actual game
@@whorem0anss also i'm sure that the demo was made in a way to hide a lot of stuff, like you don't see the opening sequence, it will probably have more stuff leading to the village. Or maybe i'm wrong, but the devs are definitely not showing all their cards yet, very hyped.
Got RE4 remake and beat it already. the BIGGEST change is that I am so glad they let Luis and Mike the helicopter pilot live this time around. Remember in every trailer Leon says "this time, it has to be different"? Capcom has been telling us cryptic messages since the first trailer. The combat is great and refreshing. Seeing the new (happy) outcomes for the characters we love was the biggest twist to the entire game!
I was 14 years old when I played it on ps2 for the first time , i have so many memories from this game I will play the remake. iam so happy i was a teen during the ps2/ps3 era
RE2 on PlayStation was my first experience in the series. Then I played RE0 on PC. Later I got a GameCube and 4 was released. Best gaming experience ever. Since then I’ve played every RE game to completion.
Definitely agree that way more games need demos. I didn't know prey or arkane existed until a friend told me to download the demo and changed my life forever. It's hard to remember my life before immersive sims lol
I’m old enough and fortunate enough to have played every mainline RE game and when 4 dropped back in 05 I remember just being blown away by the intro and the game itself. Fast forward 18 years later and the same results. This game is a 10 now and it was back then. Didn’t even want the remake tbh I wanted two and three remade and 6 and code Veronica that was it (yes I love 5 also) but capcom did it and did it well even after that dumpster fire of 3 being basically a demo 😂 I’m almost done with it and man I’m mad I’m about done but overall the changes made are needed and they trimmed fat that was necessary and tbh I can’t stress enough that capcom deserves all it’s 💐 for what they’ve done the last 5-6 years since revamping RE with 7 and village. I’m excited that we getting mercenaries and hopefully adas campaign afterwards, to complete the game. Honestly so far it’s my game of the year. I’ll be shocked if it’s not even nominated
I've had no history with RE whatsoever but I really just found something interesting in this entry for the longest time, even though I'll probably be confused as hell, I definitely want to play this remake
8:25 anyone else thought that the charge animation looks a bit like the fish monsters in the "Old Hunters" DLC from bloodborne? Also I'm crazily excited for this game, everything seems to point towards this game being the best RE remake they've made
I remember being a kid and my older cousin showing up to our family Christmas party with her PS2 slim and re4 Inside. All us younger kids were immediately fascinated and terrified at that classic re4 intro sequence. I was too scared to ever buy it myself, but then bought re5 when I reached middle school and actually loved playing it with my friends. I then played 6 and hated it lol, but I was so excited when re4 had released on the Xbox one back in like 2016 and finally got to experience the full game. I loved it, and now I can't wait to experience it all again and hopefully in VR soon!
If what has been written online is true, I'm so glad Capcom's Division 1 took the reigns back on this project. M-Two, who co-developed RE3 kinda came up short on the game. It's a good game, just so much was cut and it really hurt it. Can't wait until Friday! :)
I live in Northern Wisconsin and just recently I took a trip to the local Wal-Mart in Minocqua WI. My main purpose for going there was to pick up a sony sound bar. In preparation for resident 4. I also bought a 55 inch Sony Bravia x90k. But anyway when I was over in electronics and checked out the ps5 games which I do whenever I'm at any Walmart. And when I did I had to do a double take because before my utterly shocked eyes were copies of RE4 remake 😂. Enough said time to play a masterpiece all over again and again and again..........
I am 56 years old and I have played every game in this RE franchise and I really didn’t see a need to remake this game but I am really getting excited about playing this remake and your helping me get even more excited because I always respect the way you review and give your opinions about these type of games.Keep up the good work!!
To me Shinji Mikami is a true genius in terms of combat design. In RE4, you can keep shooting an enemy until it dies, or you can exploit its weakness. Most the parasites are instant kill with a flash grenade. Another example is guy with a wooden shield. Guys I know would use shotgun to break shield then use handgun. But I would just use one single sniper rifle shot to take them out.
My only window into the OG Resident Evil games was going to friends who would have them on their consoles and play maybe an hour, get confused to no end by the controls and eventually found them frustrating as a kid, and my actual entrance to survival horror came with the likes of Dino Crisis and Dead Space (One remake down, one more to go PLEASE). So the whole Remake series is my actual first real experience of Resident Evil and I'm so looking forward to play RE4 for the first time in full. I'm glad Capcom asked for no spoilers because there are (albeit maybe only a few) people like me 😅😅 Hope everyone will have a good time in a few days with this remake.
Honestly for me, whatever gets changed - I don't care. I want the story to be the same, I want the horror and I want the action. I would be happy to see the PRL, Chicago typewriter and the handcanon. Those weapons really made playing the game over and over again more enjoyable by letting me focus on just the action. Or just going on a masochist run, using only a mine thrower. Whatever it is, I'm glad I got the deluxe edition for my birthday.
One thing I can I really love which will sound crazy to some, is the fact how INTENSE this game really is. Even on standard difficulty, I’m running around like I’m gonna shit my pants any minute. Always tryna think of clever ways to solve a very dangerous and tight situation. Like for example, I love that you can use the environment more to your advantage here and giving enemies the slip and coming back on top again and then straight into a boss battle. I love it. Pure intense fast past horror with slow and subtle chilling moments of suspense and the unknown. Especially with playing Ashley, they threw me off completely.
I’m super stoked for RE4R and my GS-exclusive Collector’s Edition preorder for PS4! 🤩 So glad Capcom decided to release RE4R on PS4 to match the number!
@@Luke-2954 I guess I can see why, with how it portrays parts of third world people. But after chapter 1 or 2 and you're not in the "samali" esque ghettos it wasnt offensive that I can recall. It was in the setting off the continent of Africa 🤷 It wasnt horror enough for me, to make it better than 4 personally. But I'd be a liar if I said I didn't play through it multiple times xD
@Lennon Pierce See I didn't think OG 4 had any horror at all, and to me it honestly feels like 5 is a better version of 4, the gameplay is so much tighter, the ability to melee has been so expanded on so much, the weapons have a way more robust upgrade system, plus 5 is the end of Wesker, I feel like a lot of people are just nostalgic for 4
Im one of those people who’s first resident evil game was resident evil 4, ive been playing the game since 2005, and i was 5 years old, playing it on the gamecube and ps2 was thrilling, and its also one of the only games i had, sure i had to ask my dad for help, but most of the time i was good on my own, the game overall is amazing, im so hyped for this remake I preordered the deluxe edition 😁
My first RE game was the RE2 Remake which I absolutely loved. That game caused me to get and play through RE5 and 6 with a friend which was also really enjoyable (or at least as enjoyable as 6 can be). I recently finished the RE3 Remake in preparation for this game.
Man I can’t wait until Friday. 4 is my absolute favorite. It’s my first resident evil I ever played. Now when I was little I remember being at my cousins and he was in college I was like 5 and he was playing re1 on the PlayStation even though I was scared I loved it. As I got older I finally got this game and been a fan since. I’ve gone back and played the re 1 remake and 2 and 3 and every main game since I’ve owned. Glade you are enjoying it! Friday can’t come soon enough
I would love to see a proper remake just like this for Resident Evil Zero and the OG Resident Evil. Between this and Dead Space, this is how you do remakes!!! 💯🔥
I’m 30 years old and RE4 was my first introduction to the series. My dad used to play the first game on ps1 when I was a kid but I never played it until after. There are things I don’t like about remake like the village and woods being less believable and now looking overdone to the point (this could only exist in a video game) but I’m still hyped for it and have it pre ordered. Best part is if we don’t like it we can always just go back to OG RE4. Not like it’s being replaced.
Oh man...still in the honeymoon period with my PSVR2, Walking Dead S+S 2 drops tonight (my most anticipated game in a LONG while), and now this in the same week? I need more hours in the day!!
Ashley is my favorite character reintroduction in a game remake. Her and Leon's interactions are so good. Gives the game a lot of heart. Fantastic game a second time!
My only play through of re4 was the VR version for Quest 2 and it was phenomenal! It’s going to be interesting to now play re4 remake from the original perspective. Due to that experience I think I’m looking forward to the VR Re4 remake version.
You know... I understand 4 is a loved game.. and honestly Did not think it needed remade yet either.. when they still had the first RE game.. and Code Veronica on the table that needed it a bit more. (Been dying to see Spencer mansion in the new RE engine.) 4 was never my personal favorite so maybe that helps some... But i still loved it. But I'm going into this game with a new look. Not going to compare the whole time and be upset if things arent exactly as they were in the original.. because this is meant to be a different experience in many ways. So i'll treat it as its own thing. We all still have the original too to play if we love it that much. But I am stoked regardless to have this new take on the entry and glad people like Luis will have more screen time from the looks of it. I can't complain.. Its just a new attempt on the formula to make it a bit darker and scarier ... and seems to still retain everything for the most part that people loved plus some. At the end of the day.. its a new RE game.. and I'm never going to argue with that. I know some people will dig their heels into the dirt and just hate it because its attempting to remake their favorite game.. and thats fine... But I think this looks great and will be there midnight Thursday to check it out.
I played RE4 for the first time about a year ago. While I am 24, so I'm used to older games, I was surprised to find out it released in 2005 as it holds up well.
I started with one, two, and three with PS and PS2. I haven't played any of the newer games even though I loved playing and replaying these games. I'm gonna have to dive back in. Thanks, Jake. You're the best.
I hope they'll remake the RE1 Remake next. Imagine the shark area, but as an area you need to swim through. Even better if the swimming is done in first person. Lisa Trevor would make an excellent "Mr.X" style enemy...
My starting point was RE2 on PS1 and N64. So when they announced RE4 and that Leon was the main protagonist I was all in. I can’t count how many times I’ve replayed this game on GC. My first playthrough after the village encounter I had to put the game down cause Dr Salvador freaked me out with his chainsaw. Aaah! Good times 😅
Рік тому
I started playing RE4 on the GC just when it came out, and it just blew me away. To the degree that I have completed it a total of 27 times, on multiple platforms. I am so ready for this to come out, probably won't do another 27, but I'm thinking three completion rounds, just to explore.
Re4 was my first venture into the series. I was always too scared of the older ones. Beat it on PS2 a few times, stuck with the main titles so I’ve beaten 5,6,7,8 as well as 2’s remake, gave up on 3 because I didn’t like it. But it wasn’t until really the 2 remake that the series clicked for me. Maybe 7 for the basic introduction but 2 being something I had to think and plan my way around before setting out and what I’d bring or leave behind for each trip was where it all lined up where I understood the original appeal of the series. I love everything it builds to but the tight inventory management and stage preplanning are very important aspects of the survival horror roots the series was built on that RE4 sort of stepped back on with its action heavy focus which as a kid who didn’t like to be scared it was the perfect gateway for me to get into such a series and learn the systems that take away from the gameplay but add to the experience like RE2 showed me I was missing out on in my early days.
The new intro was essentially RE: Village’s intro, which I love that game and I never played og RE4, but it was a bit too similar for me: woods, cabin, basement, noise, escape cabin, go into village
As someone who isn't as attached to RE4 as everyone else, I am EXTREMELY excited for this remake. From what I have seen so far, they have fixed almost EVERYTHING I didn't like in the original, I think this will best RE-imagined RE entry so far and I can't wait to get my hands on it this Friday.
As an old fart who is also probably 100 years old. I played and enjoyed the OG PS1 games. But by the time 4 came out, I was way past the fandom, after playing the hell out of RE1 Remake and RE0 on the GameCube. I actually didn't play 4 until way much longer, like, probably a few years ago. despite knowing and hearing how amazing it is. When I finally played it, I was immediately taking back into that time when I genuinely loved Resident Evil as a franchise. I'm looking forward to this, but I will die on this hill to argue the Code Veronica should have be made instead of RE4.
I bought re4 for the Wii and was blown away it was amazing, I bought the remake for the ps5 and I haven’t played it since I bought it months ago but I think I’m ready now to get into it like I did all those years ago
I remember my uncle got re4 on our ps2 and I was too scared to play it but loved watching him play it. I would just play mercenaries on the castle and not leave the starting room lol. I beat it later with my cousin and I loved it and went back and beat it a couple times. So im definitely in that category of 4 being my first re game
I played the re2 remake about a year ago and lately I wanted to do the whole series so im playing through re1 right now and god damn I'm in love can't wait to finish 2 again and 3 and then this game which looks amazing
I wish someone covered the preorder items, and what they actually did, before the official release of the game. Knowing the items' worth before preorder's "expiration" is important. I know that the gold case will increase gold drops. The deluxe edition's classic case will increase gunpowder drop rate.
4 on ps2 at my friend's house was my 1st RE. Just beat it for the 1st time today on the Switch and immediately started the remake on ps5! Had to cut myself off for work in the am... loving the remake so far 👍
RE4 was my first introduction when I was a kid, later onto 5, 6, and the Remakes! It really is nostalgic to be apart of that generation that actually played the game and see it remastered. RE4 was also my first real exposure to the *femme fatale* archetype with Ada’s charming and illusive nature, later getting me into Bond Girls and La Femme Nikita! I was so excited to discover a mysterious lady was sleuthing around the area as a kid! The hookshot, added perspective, double crossing. It really turned RE4 from an action survival into a melodramatic spy thriller. In a time where we only had the male dominated spy games likes 007 Nightfire, Splinter Cell, and MGS. “Separate Ways” was the Barbie Dream house of femme fatale spies. Ada got all the glory in that run. I know Capcom will faithfully deliver an enthralling and convoluted conspiracy that Separate Ways was meant to tell!
one fantastic thing is performance, RE2 remake ran fine for me but acted like it wouldn't based on the way the benchmark page was always "orange", at least the demo for this runs amazing with no setting changes and controls really well
I would love to sit down and just play games with this guy. Honestly, always has something interesting to just talk about in the video game world. Just pure discussion.
While RE4 really didn’t need a remake from the ground up it’s so impressive looking (Hopefully RE Code Veronica is given a 2nd life that title is so underrated and in many ways as good as RE4 (Code Veronica also has aged very poorly it deserves a remake more so then RE4)
What is ultimately nice, is the fact that Capcom listened to the fans. How many companies actually listen and do something about it. Fans wanted a re2 remake, we begged for it as soon as re1r came out, it took a while but they did listen. Then everyone wanted a re3r and they did it. It was short and some cut content but they still lost need and did a remake. Then of course there's re4 and that is super risky for camcpm cause 1.the game isn't as old as the og titles 2.its definitely the most beloved game out of the franchise 3.it wouldn't take much to piss off the fans lol. I'm hoping they continue to listen and give us code veronica remake or a new outbreak
RE4 is the only game I’ve finished 100%. I did it on both GameCube and PlayStation. Mercenaries and everything. Was my favorite game for a very long time.
I started when the first resident evil came out and it's one of my favorite series! RE4 is honestly my all time favorite though so I'm more than hyped for this Friday when I go pick it up after work
That it's awesome and pumped to play it Friday. My wife and I played the Chainsaw Demo and managed to kill Mr chainsaw, forgot his name, on the 2nd time through
I have finished RE4 more times than I can count, I've played every permutation of it from the WII to the PC to the PS2 and even the Quest 2 one and the MOBILE version for phones way back that was garbage, but I wasn't sure if this remake was gonna actually be able to remake such a revered classic, and after beating the demo like 5 times, they got my pre-order, which is funny cuz I never pre-order games, but this is gonna be one hell of a ride I can FEEL IT!!!....
RE4 was my first Resident Evil game and Horror game. It is what got me into survival horror and horror movies in general. After RE4 I tried to play almost every Resident Evil games and their spin offs along with anything that is Resident Evil like.
Still ain't watching any videos of new RE4 till I can get my mitts on a copy, special edition of course u get to find more treasure, original soundtrack, and baller extra costumes. All I keep hearing is that new RE4 is perfect this and perfect that. I can't believe I'm at a point life where I get to get back into RE4 in a brand new way. New Dead Space 1 did this to me also, another great remake.
I’m enjoying it so much right now. Playing on hardcore for my first play through this is much more horror in tone, and my ammo is always just enough, so it feels more survival horror even if it is still actions focused.
When I eventually do buy this, this will be my very first Resident Evil game. I bought Resi V back when it was on sale on Steam back in my PC days, unfortunately as it is usually with Steam, I had tonnes of other games that I wanted to play and Resi V was never top priority. So barely played it. This will be my first foray onto playing this franchise. And eventually I want to play the two other remakes and the then get around to seven and eight. I wonder if anyone is following my exact approach to the Resident Evil games, I doubt it.
A lot of people dont know but when RE4 came out it was different. In fact I would argue that RE3 Nemesis was the true arcade shooter before RE4, but because Nemesis did not generate the same amount of interest that RE 2 did the change in tactics and strategy for RE4 led the way to what it eventually become. And nearly twenty years later, is still becoming something else. But one of the more hidden themes, or unconscious gameplay elements RE4 did before any RE game is that it was the first RE game that had an RPG-like element to it. You kill a Plaga and you get rewarded, coins per se. Remember this was also a time when God of War was released as well and you started to see changes in action/adventure games where every action, or reaction, has a reward waiting for you. Forward twenty years later, now is in the majority of every game. This is why I like Village so much, because it takes what made RE4 entertaining. And notice when everyone says that this is a game that still keeps in tact its essence. It is because of the reward that the game gives you. I am studying analytics, and the way I see RE4, including the remake, it is the first RE analytics game. So much data going on. Played the original RE4 on PS2, going to play the remake on PS5. Hype.
Honestly i'm very happy Capcom is going through these remakes...Makes it that more...Likely that we could possibly hopefully one day get Dino Crisis again. Please start a Dino Crisis movement Jake, you are our only hope :D
I've seen the OG Resident evil 4 be played a ton of times, but never experienced it myself. I've played all the others and grew up with the series, no idea why I've never played 4. Oh boi am I excited for the remake!!
Imo the removal of U3 is very insignificant. When I played the original, I found the fight more tedious than entertaining, and didn't find the design to be as memorable as other plagas like Salvador or The Regenerators.
Really looking forward to RE4 remake. The 4th game was my introduction to them. Sure, I'd seen the movies. But I LOVE the RE 4 video game. It's personally my favorite out of the franchise.
Honestly, I think RE4 is a great jumping off point to the series, even with the remake. My exposure to the series growing up was weirdly stilted; I got my first (terrifying) look at the franchise with RE2 via a demo disk back in the day, RE3 advertisements in gaming magazines later. Smash cut to 2002 when my friend grabbed the RE1 remake on the gamecube with that being my true first, hands on experience with the game in the entirety. From there, I leapt right to RE4 on release. After that, I went back and played every entry I could get my hands on.
I feel like they’ve found a better formula and rediscovered what makes the games special with the remakes and I love it. The developers really listen. Only thing they need now are resident evil outbreak or another re1 remake haha
tough to talk about without diving into the surprises but I try my best. thanks for stopping by 🍕
Youre the GOAT Jake
Capcom always released demo's for there games 🎮 👏 🙌. You are right everyone should do that 😉 👍.
How come you never made a video talking about Hogwarts legacy???
I'm still waiting, Jake!!

I’m really happy with what Capcom have been doing with the series with VII and Village, and all the remakes. They have really been knocking it out the park. All I need now is a Dino Crisis remake! 😁
I’ve been a very happy camper. Imagine Dino Crisis? 😳
CV is highly needed
Also we need Code Veronica now

Sounds like a terrible friend, to not share. Hope you dropped him
yeah its promising. "chainsaw" fitting name for its demo, since its the best 1st hand introduction and experience to RE4.
I am one of the players that was introduced to RE franchise from RE4
It comes out Thursday
@@Devin7Eleven hopefully midnight since I cannot fucking wait
RE4 was the first RE I actually understood and beat. I am SO hyped for this!
Bro me too. Me personally i suck at the re puzzles so i never got around to beating the earlier re games plus I was scared to death
RE 4 is as well my first game. So pump for the remake. Just a few more days.
Same. I technically played 2 first, but I was like 8 and had no clue.
RE5 was my first. Should have heard me when I was discovering that I could not aim and move.
It’s because RE4 and RE5 are the only ones that aren’t packed with convoluted puzzles. I love RE but the puzzles kill the pacing for me.

not only was resident evil 4 my first RE game, but along with san andreas and manhunt 2, they were my first games ever. I was honestly almost brought to tears playing the demo, remembering the countless playthroughs with my dad
Damn those are some AWESOME first games for you to have played
i’m a first time resident evil player, my dad used to play it when i was a kid but it always looked too scary for me. Just recently finished both 2 and 3’s remakes and absolutely loved them. I was so excited when i realized the 4th one was right around the corner.
U actually liked 3Make even tho alot was cut? I got it just to tie in the story events but 2 was way better and I still play that one.
@@DonYoGi8331 well i never played the originals, so all i know is the remakes. I did think it was a bit short but i enjoyed it, i think jill and carlos are very interesting characters.
RE4 was only recently eclipsed by the RE2 remake as my favourite entry in the series. This remake had a lot to live up to, so I'm really happy to see all the glowing praise!
lol, RE2make is nothing compared to original RE4
@LfunkeyA it actually is. I love RE4 as much of the next guy but people let nostalgia blindside them
Same. Re4 was my fav until I played re2 remake.
@@LfunkeyA RE7 is personally my favorite however the RE2 Remake is definitely better than the original RE4
@@thegreatpiginthesky3904 re2 original is better than re2 remake so it goes without saying re4 is better
demos definitely need to make a comeback
even though it was just 30 minutes, it sold me on the game
felt like i was playing a sequel to re village and i really enjoyed my time with that game
100% agree, the Maiden demo was such a treat when it first came out, and this Chainsaw Demo was pretty much the perfect way to hook any new player to RE4’s story
Less matrix stuff makes me think they removed the lazer room. A bit sad about that, I kinda liked that part 😅
It was more of a nod to the first Resident Evil movie with Milla Jovovich than a reference to the Matrix movies.
It was in fact removed
It was a full QTE
Once again I think you've did a great job in getting into the game info. This old man is looking forward to getting into this game!! THANKS JAKE!!
I played the demo and then immediately played the original and i was wanting to use the update controls haha
Play the demo 5-10 times and you'll see the merits of the new controls. My first two plays I was feeling iffy. But now I think its great
Leon definitely feels like he moves around like he ate too many donuts but that's probably cause most third person shooters these days are fast paced with lots of momentum to your character.
@@r3dsnow757 you start at the police car after the 2 cops don't come back, but there is no story lead in, just the starting gameplay
@@r3dsnow757many believe the lack of the dog is a red herring because they didn't have a use for the dog to be in the demo.
@@Papa_Emeritus_IV the dog is in👌, same as in the OG. If u save him he helps later.
Luis and Mike died in the RE4make still.
I was 14 years old when I played it on ps2 for the first time , i have so many memories from this game I will play the remake. iam so happy i was a teen during the ps2/ps3 era
I'm from India and RE 4 was the first popular game from Resident evil series
Yeah this still brings me back to the two GameCube disks and I'm here for it
Littarly was just watching Jake's old vids. And now this, thank you jake
Woah thanks!
RE2 on PlayStation was my first experience in the series. Then I played RE0 on PC. Later I got a GameCube and 4 was released. Best gaming experience ever. Since then I’ve played every RE game to completion.
It was my first Resident Evil game. To those who haven’t done a Resident Evil game and are wondering it starting here works, HELL YEAH. Do it
Definitely agree that way more games need demos.
You will be fine. The story is very light and it briefly mentions Leon's previous entry (RE2) in the intro cutscene
8:25 anyone else thought that the charge animation looks a bit like the fish monsters in the "Old Hunters" DLC from bloodborne? Also I'm crazily excited for this game, everything seems to point towards this game being the best RE remake they've made
RE4 is bloodborne 2 confirmed
i've been actively waiting and wondering when you'd post this
I remember being a kid and my older cousin showing up to our family Christmas party with her PS2 slim and re4 Inside.
From the demo It felt just like the original... I loved the way it moves with the new perks of a remake
Can’t wait to play this since I have beat RE4 25 times.Really enjoyed your review and this video a lot.Great job!!
Lol tank controls in a 3rd person shooter game is dumb.
I'm glad Capcom asked for no spoilers because there are (albeit maybe only a few) people like me 😅😅
Hope everyone will have a good time in a few days with this remake.
That PRL is a BEAST
One thing I can I really love which will sound crazy to some, is the fact how INTENSE this game really is.
Even on standard difficulty, I’m running around like I’m gonna shit my pants any minute. Always tryna think of clever ways to solve a very dangerous and tight situation. Like for example, I love that you can use the environment more to your advantage here and giving enemies the slip and coming back on top again and then straight into a boss battle.
I love it. Pure intense fast past horror with slow and subtle chilling moments of suspense and the unknown.
Especially with playing Ashley, they threw me off completely.
Same as well as me,my first resident evil game was resident evil 4 back in the days with my ps2.Such a memory😍😍now can't wait to play the remakes😍😍
I’m super stoked for RE4R and my GS-exclusive Collector’s Edition preorder for PS4! 🤩 So glad Capcom decided to release RE4R on PS4 to match the number!
I really really hope we get a 5 remake next, RE5 is my all time favorite RE!
Code Veronica first
Woke mob won't let that one see the light of day... 🤦🤦 It was a blast of a resident evil game imo though
@@lennonpierce1607 It was honestly over hated
@@Luke-2954 I guess I can see why, with how it portrays parts of third world people. But after chapter 1 or 2 and you're not in the "samali" esque ghettos it wasnt offensive that I can recall. It was in the setting off the continent of Africa 🤷
It wasnt horror enough for me, to make it better than 4 personally.
I been playing since RE Director's Cut on PS1. But I can't wait for them to redo 5! My wife and I have so so so many hours into Re5. SHEEEVVVAAA
I've played RE4 in every console i've ever own, including the quest 2, I cant wait to play the remake, one of my most anticipated games ever!
RE4 was my first, then 5, then 7 and all the new games up to now. So excited to play the remake.
1st time i entered the house, and going down the basement... i don't remember RE4 this scary since the Original. that atmosphere 💀
yes RE4 WAS my first RE game & really it just changed me & i love it to the end.
I started with one, two, and three with PS and PS2. I haven't played any of the newer games even though I loved playing and replaying these games.
I'm gonna have to dive back in.
Thanks, Jake. You're the best.
As I've told you, I've been playing since the pong days! And hell I was no spring chicken then!!
It was my first resident evil 4 when i was a kid on ps2 and will always have a special spot for me in my gaming experience
The new intro was essentially RE: Village’s intro, which I love that game and I never played og RE4, but it was a bit too similar for me: woods, cabin, basement, noise, escape cabin, go into village
My first RE was RE2 on Nintendo 64. I went from N64 to PS2 so RE4 was my second RE. I was definitely a Leon fan lol.
RE4 was my first resident evil game. I’m really excited for this remake
You’re in the perfect spot. I think you’re gonna have a blast
Same
@@JakeBaldino I sure will. I love the Resident Evil franchise.
Yeah, whilst I think its a good game, RE4 is where the franchise started to jump the shark imo
@@Hero_Of_Old 5 and 6 were terrible hopefully we get replacements for those games not remakes
7:09 when you need to be monetized and kid friendly 🤣
I hope no kids are watching
I remember getting nightmares watching my brother play RE1 on the PS1. I've been hooked since
I started when the first resident evil came out and it's one of my favorite series!
RE4 was also my first RE. And what a great start. Btw i keep hearing about piza but still waiting on mine ....
THIS!!! I finally found a fellow Dino Crisis veteran. These are the remakes I’m hoping make and appearance.
7:38
I've seen crazier than that. I've met a few whose first game in the series was RE6 lol.
I can't wait to see what they will do moving onto RE9 more story. Excited to see more character development for the future games and more remakes.
I feel like they’ve found a better formula and rediscovered what makes the games special with the remakes and I love it. The developers really listen. Only thing they need now are resident evil outbreak or another re1 remake haha
My first entry into the series was resident evil outbreak on ps2 but that was like almost 3 decades ago when I was in the 4th grade lol
