@JaquantheJequel I did enjoy this and would like more. But I would be lying if I said I didn't want a 50-minute The Last of Us 2 deep dive video with your classic hummer. But this is good as well. 🙂
This video feels like having that one friend who's always quirky and a bit hyper in a group and then suddenly 1 on 1 you're having a more laid back and reflective conversation with him. Love that for us jakey

I think I'll always the miss the more frequent main channel uploads, when you were toying around with your style and making rap reviews or w/e, but if this is how we get to hear more of what you think about games, that'll be great. You're definitely more than a yoga ball and a green screen, the way you look at this stuff is what really sets you apart
Dude I hear you. I just keep playing. I thought I would be done after playthrough 5 when I finally unlocked all of the weapons and used them. And now here I am on playthrough 8. lol
I feel like a goblin, but my friends didn't hear from me when this came out. It was 92hrs, 39 achievements and 9 playthroughs later when they finally heard from me again.
Dude you're so right about the merchant, the dude makes me smile every time I meet him. At first you're like "fuck this dude is chatty" but he becomes really comforting to come back to - much like the original but different.
@JamesCastle-vd1lcthe RE4 remake was the first time I actually beat RE4, I didn’t get too far in the original, so the merchant in the remake was my first experience with the merchant ever and yeah he’s pretty great
Tbh i like this kind of thing the most. Videos where the writer is fully honest and chill and just chatting about a favorite game or something theyre into. I love this format and id love to see more because its surprisingly rare to see in a way that feels genuine like this. Also hearing u talk is fun jakey
In a world where everything is super cut shit with zooming in and all sorts of effects to keep your attention, it's so refreshing to just have a simple fucking video to watch
Really love this format Jakey. It’s a lot more chill, and I’m sure a ton less editing work. We all love seeing you face and hearing your love for games and media. Thank you for the album as well. Lots of love. You’ve added a lot of joy to my life.
We really don't get this kind of chill, cozy, simple content on UA-cam anymore. Most youtubers don't wanna do it since it doesn't get crazy high retention/ctr, but all of us here watching really appreciate it. It's fun to just relax and talk about something you love. It's not gonna make a lot of ad revenue, but to us who are here it means the world.
Jake Baldino has the same kindve vibe as Jakey does here. A guy that, on his other channel (gameranx) is pretty eccentric, but on his own personal channel just kinda chills with the viewer and talks about his favorite games
This format is dead (algorithm wise) , thats why you dont see it anymore. Like Jake does, its only feasible for massive channels that make a second channel, were they can post unscripted, more fluent/freeflow conversation videos. Baldino from gameranx is another example like the guy above said. If gameranx posted a 16 min talk to the camera video they would shoot themselves in the foot for months. Its sad but its how youtube works now. But hey there's no better time to make a second channel than now
Nah, it’s around. Maybe the gaming space doesn’t push this because of the audience, but the chill vibes are very prevalent in tech, career, fitness, game dev, and some other genres.
Please keep these Jequan videos coming man. I think it’s great that you’re making these little talk videos in between the huge high production main videos. Your content has helped me through so much over the years as it has many others. I hope you know you’re incredibly appreciated by your fans. Dog Bless
I love when Jakey is like this still to this day my favorite video of his is the Dark Souls saved my life one just snuggled up in a blanket talking to us like a sleep over and you and the homie are super sleepy but super raw and honest with each other. You hands down are my favorite UA-camr I'd watch you talk about paint drying and be captivated! Dog Bless Jakey!
Yup. For me it's the Bioshock one. You just can't fake genuine passion like that, but how he's able to convey that so well and so openly, I've never seen that anywhere else and it's incredibly inspiring. I appreciate vids like this a whole lot🥲❤️
This is one of my favorite videos of yours Jakey. It reminds me of your videos about Bioshock and Dark Souls where you were just in your bed talking to the camera about how they impacted you. There's something so personal and natural about this style of video that makes it feel comforting in a way. Would definitely love to see you put out more videos in this style.
I don't imagine anyone will complain about getting more stuff from you. This format of video is super cozy and chill, it's really nice just hearing you talk about something you love for a while. Also, this video could be twice the length and I'm sure plenty of us would be just as happy with it, so don't sweat too much about the recording/run time
In 2005, I purchased a Game Cube just so I could play Resident Evil 4. Ended up playing it 13 times on the cube, once on the PS4 and once on the Xbox One. This year, I ended up playing the RE4 remake and Separate Ways at least five times. Very close to the best game ever made. I feel it's between Elden Ring and RE4 for me.
Dude, you should absolutely do videos like these more often. Very chill, doesn't stress you out as much, and I love how passionate you are about video games, even when it's unscripted and you're just vibing.
oh man , this was a very much needed video from jakey , it's really rare to have this genuine and down to earth type of content these days , thank you for existing Jakey!
This simplistic format without all the fun green screen stuff is surprisingly satisfying as well. so your passion seems to be the core value that makes your stuff magical
i like seeing how legitimately passionate you are about games. rarely can you see the genuine passion and care and connection people feel for games in game reviews but this more relaxed off the cuff video style perfectly shows the sincere feelings you have for gaming as a whole. digging it
As someone who never played the original, this was super insightful. This video definitely reinforces the fact that so much of the value you provide as a content creator comes from your knowledge and passion of gaming. The things you have to say are so worth hearing, whether it's via a highly edited greenscreen vid or a comfy chat like this one. Dog bless.
This format is fantastic Jaquan! Low-production, laid-back and cozy. We don't need perfection every time!! Though, your main channel masterpieces are highly appreciated x)
To put into perspective how passionate you feel in this video, when talking about the game it feels like one of Dunkey's videos when he's sincere about a game. Like one of his videos on a mainline Mario game. It comes off that you're passionate and that you actually care about the game and that you really do love it.
I love when people nerd about the shit they love, I’m playing 4 remake rn with mods and just like you it’s the first game in a while where I stayed up till 5am, I’m loving it
I'd love to see more game discussions, it might not have the same audience reach as a fully written, produced video essay but for me it captures the vibe of just talkin games with the homies and you know we like talkin games with the homies
For me, this game raised the bar on what a good remake should be. It's hard not to sound hyperbolic but it's just an improvement in so many areas. One nitpick is that I do miss the more creative old school UI styling they threw out in favor of "black boxes, white borders, white text, generic font"
Its so cool to see you in a more casual sense. I love your heavily edited and scripted videos a lot but this showed such a genuine side of you that I really appreciate. Would love to see more videos like this
I haven't gotten to finish the video yet, clearly. But I love the idea of just short form content where you express your opinion. Would welcome more of this! Okay finally finished the video and yes RE4R is indeed fire. I stand by what I said, good stuff, would consume more content.
The opening to Resident Evil 4 is the best opening of any video game. The slow build up from “something is wrong here” to being attacked by the whole village and a chainsaw wielding maniac is insane. It’s iconic.
I know everyone is saying it already, but this format is great. Do this more. We like the higher production quality main channel stuff still, but this just getting your thoughts out is cool too.
thank you! yeah obviously my true passion is for sittin on that ball and doing fully scripted and edited stinkpieces on shit but its also nice to just have an outlet for game discussion so I really appreciate yall being receptive to some of these inbetween the main channel vids
I would love to see more stuff like this. The highly edited and high energy NakeyJakey videos are a blessing, but hearing your thoughts and opinions on a game without any of the bells and whistles is still really valuable and insightful. Rock on, dawg (also I'm still listening to Romcom, you nailed it brother)
Part of the appeal of your main channel videos is the structure and pacing and editing, but this still provides the other part to me which is the candor, authenticity, passion, , well founded perspectives and the feeling of just talking games with a good friend or brother. So in short I think these kinds of videos have a lot to offer and I’d be happy to see more of them.
Any content you make is just such comfort food. I can sit and listen to you talk about games or listen to you music for days and it just keeps getting better. I mean I kind of have to sit since I’m in a wheelchair, but you know what I mean lmao. Keep up the sweet content Jakey!
I love when people delve into topics that they love. Any Jakey video is great, but this style made me really happy since we got to see Jakey be so happy.
i always love hearing how passionate people are about the things they love and this is no exception. prime comfort content. thank u for delivering the goods jaquan.
Dude, I fell in love with your with your vids after watching you for the first time (just last night, the stealth video) and went down a rabbit-hole of watching your stuff and now I found this channel.. I love these videos as well this felt so cozy and nice. I really hope you make more vids like this too
This is an excellent way to use this second channel. Love the scripted stuff and more concise writing on the main channel but this type of content has such a soothing and relaxing quality to it. More of this, please!
So stoked to hear that you loved this game as much as I did. I remember having that exact same thought about RE4R giving that same feeling that games like BOTW, Elden Ring, or MGS3 did.
MGS3 is definitely another game in that category. I remember getting stuck in the cave part in like middle school and being like holy shit this game is insane
this video made me feel like I was listening to a friend who sadly passed this year. I miss long rambling conversations about stuff someone really enjoys. it's like their soul lights up. your content has always been inspirational and of a higher quality that youtube lacks a lot of the time when it comes to gaming youtube channels. what ever you decide to do in dah future go off king and enjoy Resident evil 4.
I'd absolutely love to see more content like this. everything jakey puts out im a fan of, and this is no exception. genuinely hoping to see this more often.
Jakey we love you when you're being mr. funny man on the yoga ball, but I think I speak for all of us when I say we would LOVE more in-depth, off-the-cuff, grounded commentary like this! Thank you for this one!
I love the energy and humor you bring to your scripted videos, but this format is fantastic as well. Down-to-earth and sincere. You're a gem, and I think any of us just flat out enjoy whatever you wanna make!
Would love more of these. Your love of video games always comes across so strongly and I just like hearing you talk about them while still adding your sense of humor to it.
It’s always a pleasure to see you and your content. The analysis, your music... You are wholesome and relatable. God tier UA-camr, god tier human being 🫡
It's really great to see other people had the same experience as I did, there was a time-lapse of almost 1 year when I just simply couldn't stay focused with a game, I just opened one and kept closing them after an hour and repeating the cycle until I got frustrated, because I wasn't enjoying it. This game is different, it lightened that passion for video games on me again, reminded me of when I was a kid and my dad got me GTA 4 for christmas. I just couldn't stop playing it, that game was the only thing I thought about. Getting that feeling again is so good, it's pure joy and I love it
I think this and the Dark Souls Saved Me videos are two of my favourites because you can really feel that you're speaking right from the heart on a topic you're passionate about. I dunno if you should do it for every game, but any game or movie or whatever you have especially strong feelings about, either positively or negatively would probably work well in this format.
I literally played this game for the first time about a year ago and it still completely blew me away. It's absolutely timeless and a shit ton of fun. Masterpiece
Thanks for sharing your insights! I'm definitely looking forward to picking this one up! I would LOVE it if Capcom would remake "Dino Crisis"; I think it's about time for that!
Your scripted content is so damn good, but this more laid back casual style is also a lot of fun. The editing process can be so brutal, I imagine vids like these are a refreshing change of pace. Definitely keep making these!
Its uncanny how similar our experiences have been man. RE4 was a super special game to me when it came out, unironically finished it 10+ times, the mafia coat plus the tommy gun went hard as fuck. Then in my early twenties I went back to give dark souls another try during one of my most depressed times ever. That feeling of mastery it gave me, the atmosphere, the struggle and success of beating the bosses, it changed me, it helped me get out of a very dark place. I've since got one single tattoo that I've had for 4 years and not planning on getting another, its laurentius' "Don't you dare go hollow" with a bonfire plus coiled sword covering from hand to elbow. I love it, and it reminds that no matter how far I fall, I can always climb back out, I won't disappoint Laurentius and go hollow. Idk if you read these, Jakey, but I'm just glad you had a lot of these same experiences as me with dark souls and RE4. Btw ROMCOM is a banger, I listen to it all the time
I feel like I'm chillin with Jaquan in our friend's parent's backyard sitting at that glass patio table everyone had at 2am after everyone else at the party passed out just vibin and talking about things we're passionate about. Love this format
I came here from your Elden Ring video. Re4 has been my favorite game of all time since the first time I ever got to play it. I remember going over to my friends house and he had a bunch of strategic save points made, curating basically the most awesome demo that I ever could have asked of a game. I immediately went and traded in a bunch of my ps2 backlog at gamestop and literally played the game for like a whole year. My little brother wanted to watch and for some reason I started my first playthrough at like 3am during a massive thunderstorm. We were both terrified and addicted from the start. I ended up getting my head cut off by Dr. Salvador and we made so much noise (squealing with fear and delight) that we immediately went to bed, fearing that we'd get caught awake so far past our bedtime. i genuinely felt just as giddy playing the remake. The child-like sense of wonder (and fear) was a heightened and nostalgic experience that I probably wont ever forget. I've played through it so many times already that I'm actively forcing myself to play other games for a while so that I don't get burnt out. I think the remake takes the crown for me, but I'm gonna grind my way through the OG a few times and then see how the remake feels. Like you said, I just want to keep playing it.
I am floored by how amazing this game is. Resident evil was so huge for me as a teenager and this reboot doesn't disappoint. It's all one of my group chats has been talking about for like 2 weeks.
Really great video, reminded me of your stuff before the yoga ball format, particularly the bethesda and halo videos where you sat at your desk next to your computer. Glad to see you back and hope more of this is coming!
Videos like this definitely have a place. I'd love to see more of this sort of unscripted content whether it be be something like podcasting or just living on this channel.
I really liked the remake in the sense that it felt like I could have never played a RE game and this be my first interaction with the series, plus this is the second time I’ve played it ( first time on the quest 2). The best part is that I can craft ammo and not scrounge around for it.
yeah the ammo crafting is something that I think is ultimately a great addition for providing even more choices and risk/reward to the gameplay loop (even if sometimes its so hard to find enough gunpowder for shotgun lmao)
@@JaquantheJequel thanks for reading my comment, I honestly just used my pistol and saved my gunpowder whenever I could. Also thanks for dropping that banger of an album
jakey u r such a unique individual, please post more low effort personality driven unscripted rants. you have the character to carry this format forward, and i wanna see more of ur stinky face
Oh man, you touched on it, but the audio in the remake is amazing. In ATMOS on the Series X, you can hear everything creaking and flying overhead, and you can hear the trajectory of axes as they're thrown past you etc. Just..... perfection.
jakey, youve pretty much cracked the code on your content purview. makes a lot of sense why your "big budget" videos can be few and far between, because they have thoughtful scripts and intense amounts of editing and that is a lot of hard work! now complementing that with a more off-the-cuff but still focused reaction on the other channel really rounds out your skill sets. love this content.
Can you unpack/expand on that? It's been 9 months. The "honeymoon" period has long since passed. A clear honeymoon period for a RE game would be RE3R and RE8. Not saying the game is flawless, but they got so many things right in comparison to what they got wrong. The original is near and dear to many of us who played it way back when - 100%, but this "untouchable" regard folks hold it to is so rose-colored imo.
I am still blown away how well this game transitioned from the classic slow, dumb, single-minded zombies to the Ganado. The village part in particular is such a good demonstration of meeting everyone’s expectations. It is a perfect playground where not only you have a much bigger area with more freedom than any RE game before it, but enemies actually show how smarter they are than zombies, how every single villager is a potential threat you cannot just ignore. You can climb ladders, run away, jump through windows, barricade doors, but the enemies will get to you anyway, no matter where you go. Then Dr. Salvador shows up. Oof, such tension in a few minutes into the game. I honestly cannot express how stressful yet rewarding it all was back then, and how it made most people who were against the changes simply go quiet.
forgot to preface this in the vid but this is a very SPOILER-FREE and SAFE vid like other than showing a couple of the starting combat areas I was very careful not to spoil anything big just lettin you know cause I myself can be a lil sensitive baby when it comes to spoilers so just throwing that out there! hi

Okay finally finished the video and yes RE4R is indeed fire. I stand by what I said, good stuff, would consume more content.
ok you are heard and appreciated thank you mr 1609
The opening to Resident Evil 4 is the best opening of any video game. The slow build up from “something is wrong here” to being attacked by the whole village and a chainsaw wielding maniac is insane. It’s iconic.
It's not even the best Resident Evil opening smh Leon and his reddit mod dialogue is embarassingly bad
Rock on, dawg
(also I'm still listening to Romcom, you nailed it brother)
*im so fucking proud of you, man. Adore this content*
Your enthusiasm is so contagious, would love the directors cut 40 min version!
i always love hearing how passionate people are about the things they love and this is no exception. prime comfort content. thank u for delivering the goods jaquan.
I will literally watch anything you put out dude. It doesn’t matter the length or format, you’re a genius and all of your videos are bangers. ❤
Really love this style of video. Would love more small chill insights like this. Really enjoyed listening.
my man, we're not necessarily here to get our minds blown. that's a bonus. we just love listening to you talk about the things that you love.
Thank you for this one!
finally, the biyearly sequel to Jaquan the Jequel
Hello alexlennen
Sir, it’s a Jequel
can't wait for the next upload that'll probably come in 2026 😞🙏
Can't wait for your new video Alex👀
Always love hearing your thoughts on games, whether scripted or otherwise. Keep up the great work Jakey!
This felt like shooting the breeze with a friend. Very fun, very chill. I would love to see more videos like this.
I would like to hear his thoughts on Callisto, the dead space remake, dying light or re 7
"It's just good." is what I wanted to hear. For some reason I've been putting off the remakes but since this is going to be RE4 again but new, I'm in.
It’s always a pleasure to see you and your content. The analysis, your music... You are wholesome and relatable. God tier UA-camr, god tier human being 🫡
Definitely more of this please. Love any content you put out, and a series of comfy brain-dump Jakey vids is just what the doctor ordered.
I love this type of format and I will watch every single one of these you put out
I just love any kind of content out of the Jaquan and Jakey household so yes, please, do more of these whenever you feel like it!
Love these series! It's like sitting with a friend - discussing games in a relaxed way!
I missed this type of content so much😭
There's something so special about watching someone nerd out & be passionate about art.🙌🏻
I knew subscribing to this channel would pay off eventually. Good to see you Jacob.
idk who this Jacob is but its good to see you too Grimmy
@@JaquantheJequel That's my bad Jaquan, you caught me slippin. Appreciate you!
listening to people talk about stuff they're super passionate about is always so dope
Definitely keep making these!
yeah doggy!!
your personality and comedy is what makes your content, not the editing. More videos like this are certainly welcome
Love this format
if this means more content, im all for it so go for it you 4'11 man
I came here from your Elden Ring video.
"One of my group chats"

It was surreal moment when I discovered Jaquan. It was like a lost friend from my childhood, all warm and fuzzy. I felt instantly at home.
Really great video, reminded me of your stuff before the yoga ball format, particularly the bethesda and halo videos where you sat at your desk next to your computer. Glad to see you back and hope more of this is coming!
I NEED more videos like this in my life, so relaxing honestly
Videos like this definitely have a place. I'd love to see more of this sort of unscripted content whether it be be something like podcasting or just living on this channel.
Resident evil 4 on the Wii was one of the greatest gaming experiences ive ever had.
Definitely do more of these if you feel like ♥ Your opinion on newest gaming gamies is always welcomed
Didn’t know this channel was a thing and I love it! Awesome to get more jakey!
jakey u r such a unique individual, please post more low effort personality driven unscripted rants. you have the character to carry this format forward, and i wanna see more of ur stinky face
Oh man, you touched on it, but the audio in the remake is amazing.
In ATMOS on the Series X, you can hear everything creaking and flying overhead, and you can hear the trajectory of axes as they're thrown past you etc. Just..... perfection.
This is a random question but do you pay for your Atmos? It said something about me having to pay for a subscription at some point
@@basednappa from memory, the Dolby Atmos app is only so you can use it with headphones, but I could be wrong. I bought it anyway, as I use it on PC.
@@deanisplemoni Oh okay, good to know, thanks bro
jakey, youve pretty much cracked the code on your content purview. makes a lot of sense why your "big budget" videos can be few and far between, because they have thoughtful scripts and intense amounts of editing and that is a lot of hard work! now complementing that with a more off-the-cuff but still focused reaction on the other channel really rounds out your skill sets. love this content.
I can't wait for the honeymoon period to end on this game. The flaws are numerous and it won't stand the test of time the original did.
@@Brother_James Why spoil the surprise? You'll see in a year or two. ;)
I don't like og RE4
@@MetalGearEnthusiast Then have fun when the remake sours.
