@Castor Tarantino Nahhh RE4 on professional difficulty is the most nerve racking game I've ever played, not the creepiest or even scariest game but the constant in your face pressure the whole time while having Dr.Salvador chasing you with his chainsaw and having a mob of ganados right behind you with very little ammo is terrifying!!! I think the RE4 remake will just add to it with modern graphics and sound design jesus you'll see why that game is held to such high standards

Man, can I tell you. From the first moment you start walking through the nearly pitcher black woods, I felt like I could totally have been Ethan. The tense, claustrophobic, gothic like atmosphere is impeccably done. The tense feeling you get with the beautiful art style is just something amazing. Yes, it is not without issues, but man oh man, it may very well be my favorite RE game.
This is exactly what I feel. The atmosphere, the vibe, the environment... that's really what I want in an RE game these days. The lore, the characters, the gameplay are all so far off the rails since RE4... so I kinda expect it all to be meph or blah, but the world building is everything for me. This one got that rustic Gothic horror part right in each and every section. Especially the Castle, Village, and House Beneviento ☠
Especially with the current state of triple A games. This was refreshing and immersive af. Much respect to Capcom

Resident evil games don't normally scare me but that house benevento section actually got to me.
House Beinviento is the scariest section, it literally had my heart pounding.

It’s exactly what I thought it would be and more. It’s so atmospheric and feels like a theme park ride.
I became a resident evil fan after playing 4 and so far, I’ve been absolutely loving village. It feels good to play a new, fun game after a tough semester

I'm half way through Village, and I can say this game is amazing.
I absolutely love it! I got hair-raising goosebumps, a lot while playing the village. On my second way through. I'm still getting goosebumps. AWESOME!
Thought I was the only one that found it too easy lol. I'm on my first playthrough 4 hours in and I haven't died once on normal, that's unusual for me in any game. In RE7 I died quite a bit on normal, lost count. I'm loving it so far but definitely gonna do my second playthrough on Hardcore

I love the Re series too but I treated 7 and 8 as it’s own thing with a sprinkle of re fan service so maybe that’s why I love it so much
Just sat down with it today for a few hours. Just got passed first major boss. Really enjoying it so far. Nice blend of action and atmosphere. Not sure if I will be playing it again right away because Mass Effect Remaster comes out soon and I'm very much looking forward to playing through it again for the first time in several years.
The last part of the video tho... it gave me a nice wallpaper for my desktop
So far I'm loving it, so much better then 7, I really hated 7. I Still have my issues but still its great the section with the doll gave me so many P.T vibes in the best way

Why did you hate 7?
This game is perfection
I didn't love 4 (which always made me feel out of place in the fandom) but Village reincorporated my favorite things into a formula that I found much more enjoyable while exploring new areas that I loved. It helps me to see more of what I did enjoy in 4 and look at it in a new lens.
I've been playing Resident Evil ever since I was 9 on the GameCube, so for about 10 years now, but it wasn't until last year that I started beating them, starting off with REmake 2. Then to prepare for 8, I went ahead and played 7 incl. the DLC. I was in the mood for more Resi so I also got REmake 3 this week which is the only game out of these four I missed out on at launch. I had a blast with all of them but this game, this was the first Resident Evil I got to experience first hand, beat right after it came out an been able to talk about with others. Seeing people praise and post about this game and their experience has been a delight for me as I feel like what they say (and you in this video) is relatable, I'm happy to be a part of it this time around and feel like I've become more of a fan than I was before, from RE0 and RE1 on GCN to Village on PS5, it's been a blast.
I've only finished these last four games and the only ones I really played were 0 and 1 on GCN, I popped in the other 4 GCN titles just to try them out but never really put time into them because I wanted to finished the other games first. This time however I'm determined to go back to where it started for me on the GameCube and I'm ready for the horror to begin!
As for this game, where do I begin, of course Spoiler Free but man, the story, characters, the sound design, the gameplay, we got so much cool out of this and the PS5 experience really enhances that from the controller to the PS5's graphical power to the Headset's amazing sound quality, this was the first title I actually felt the Pulse 3D being a great addition, I mainly play using a surround sound setup (7.2.4) but that wasn't really an option this time around so I stuck with the headset and it just felt so vibrant, so lively, so immersive.
There's soo much more to talk about though but just the sound design itself got me excited! Hope the next one will be as much of a blast as this one was!
I've only completed RE7 and that game blew me away. It is my favorite game of all time, the horror was like nothing i had felt before, the music and the madness just was out of this world.

Same dude, Silent Hill 2 and RE7 are my favorite horror games of all time, man. Both RE7 and 8 just feel like love letters to the horror genre and include so many different references and themes from all corners of the genre.
There’s just so much of these 2 games that I geek out about as a big fan of horror. It’s great. I highly recommend RE8, you won’t be disappointed.
I liked it quite a bit, thought the story was pretty well done. I like the twists, and theres a certain part that I believe is probably the most terrifying 10 minutes in a video game in video game history. I like that they can be like yeah this is a little more action BUT we can still deliver scares if we really want to. I dont know if I like 7 or 8 more because they're both just great in their own ways. Hoping we get some dlcs to get more story out of it. The only gripe I had was it tried WAYYYY too hard not to show Ethans face the whole game. Feel like they definitely should have all things considered. And last but not least definitely needed more sexy vampire lady. ❤
I’ve been playing this game in my basement all in the dark and man I tell you this is the way to experience this game .. so far I’m loving it..
During the “scary part” friends joined my party randomly so I had some background comfort so it didn’t scare me as much as it should’ve, but I was clenching everything

I love this direction Capcom is taking Resident Evil. Village was just dripping with atmosphere. The pacing was almost perfect, although the doll house could have been a little longer and the graphics and lighting on PS5 is so gorgeous. This was one of my top Resi games so far.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who really likes Ethan as a character. They did do a great job of giving him more personality. Also, I just like how grounded he is compared to everything else happening around him. He’s basically an average guy faced with situations no person should ever face. His reactions to things happening are one of my favorite things in the game
As someone who was never really into resident evil up until RE7, I adored that these games felt so much like their own thing. So isolated from the happenings of the wider Resident Evil world with the umbrella corporation, Chris, Leon, etc. It made the horror of these games feel stronger to me but also made me appreciate the other RE titles for their stories and characters. Of which I never really enjoyed, I was always a Silent Hill kinda guy up until 7.
I just beat the game on PS4 with my buddy doing a marathon and while I do have some light complaints and disappointments, I adore both this and 7. These games in general just feel like such a love letter to the horror genre and I couldn’t be happier that they exist.
During the benevento house section my cat jumped on the back of the recliner I was sitting in.... I thought I was going to have a heart attack. That section was insane.
I'm the kind of person who can't really leave any corner of a game unchecked before pursing forward so I think my playthrough was longer than most at 11 hours so it didn't feel short to me....I am also baffled why people thought Lady D's presence was short lived....we knew there were four houses going in so its only rational to assume she takes up 1/4th of the game since but to my surprise she was in it even longer given that her section takes up the same time as Moreau and Beneviento combined and I liked the variety that this game offered compared to 7 and I'd even give it a rating of 9.5/10 I absolutely loved it!
I know what part you’re talking about that was overwhelmingly horrifying. I had to pause, unpause, walk a few steps, and repeat that for the whole sequence!

Jake, I know that horrifying sequence your talking about and that has got to be in my opinion the most terrifying segment in the entire series. I can't wait to see people's reaction for that specific sequence because I was petrified with fear.

One my favorite things this game would do was go through this creepy section but it’s somewhat well lit, a little time passes, now you gotta go back through, but it’s dark this time
I can't contain myself anymore! I pre-ordered the physical game and it was supposed to arrive at my doorstep yesterday, but the postal service has somehow messed up and now I won't get it until the end of next week... I'm so angry atm. and it's honestly kind of frustrating hearing you liking the game (which really, really makes me want to play it) and I'm afraid I might be spoiling myself soon! I need Resident Evil content injected straight into my veins 24/7 LOL.
The chases in the dollhouse, holy shit. My wife was watching me play and was just "oooh nooo"😬. Super creepy, especially if you get cornered and caught. Yeesh, that was amazing. Nice to see a horror game pull one part without defense, rather than the ones that just no combat the whole way. That combat-less idea gets old at a point, glad they just effectively did a good part with that, then get back to normal after!
I just got the the Castle end i think but that was crazy in itself, I really just hoped on resident evil as a whole with the 4 remake and 7 and 8 but have loved it so far, if this is hat some people saw in the originals playing it so long ago i can see where the love comes from. Can't wait to finish 8 and for your next video
Im playing this on a Ps4 Pro, on a 1080p, non-HDR tv, with prioritize frame rate mode on, and it’s straight up one of the most stunning, and nicest looking games I’ve ever seen. Like seriously, the way objects and environments look & feel in RE8 make many other AAA games look like they just stamped a bunch of assets carelessly into a 3D space. Also with some of the smoothest thumbstick aiming and movement I’ve ever felt in a game.
Side note: Very reasonable 40 GB file size, and my Pro doesn’t get loud while playing.
100%ed the game the other day with 8 playthroughs! Started my 9th just for fun!
Would've been 7 for completion, but I didn't know you had to take down a certain enemy without help on a knife run. So my 8th was a knife run, but Village of Shadows. Fun!
As a OG PS1 RE fan, this game blew me away. The storytelling was amazing although the actual story at times went a little off the rails (but I mean, we had 6, so it wasn’t THAT batsh*t crazy), but overall this game is a celebration of all things Resident Evil and I’m so happy to see the franchise embracing new things, growing, and nailing it!!!

The inspired and beautiful visuals, mixed with the impressive sound design, create an amazing atmosphere. Savouring it at the moment, in the middle of the night =). Got out of the castle. Just disappointed to have chose the standard difficulty. No sense of danger at all, at least for now
Heard that like in RE3 remake, the rapidity and position of enemies, and items, change at each difficulty setting. So great for replay value
Do you unlock weapons, infinite ammo, stuff like that, like in RE4, to boost the replay value even more ?

The fact we have to wait another 4 years for another masterpiece like this is so depressing. This is by far my favorite resident evil (maybe my favorite game ever) I enjoyed every single second of it. And I’m so sad it’s over.

@@vatossureno if you watch every cutscene and do all the puzzles by yourself the games around 9-10 hours. I beat my first play through in 8:32.26 it’s a very replayable game and there is fun things to do after you beat it.
@@blainehale556 i am 3 1/2 hours in and have killed 2 of the daughters and still in the castle lol. I am talking my time and want to atleast stretch it to 15 hours
@@vatossureno you’ll easily make it to 12 hours if you’re going at that pace. I was out of the castle at around 2 hours and 26 minutes.

i am not a big horror fan but i decided to dive into it and I think im more towards the end of the story and DAMN its so good. The feeling of constant dread with actions just feels amazing. I legit cant wait for RE9
I'm towards the end and love it, I haven't played 4 but I've played the rest of them and it's second only to re2 original or remake for me. I think I've been completely fulfilled, but I would never say no to more dimitrescu of course.

1 thing I'm really afraid of is the 2nd house and that "thing" that follows you.
Plus I got spooked by a lycan for the puzzle that asked you to look out the window. I was so focused on puzzle where I thought i was safe caught me off guard. I said break time.

I loved RE4 when it came out, still have great memories with it. This is very much like RE4.
My only real gripe with this game is the Castle section isn't long enough. First playthrough it feels longer than it actually is because you're sorta lost and trying to figure out the layout, once you get all of that down you realize the area isn't as big and doesn't last as long as it should have.
My only real problem was that it didn’t last longer so I could feel the environment more. Benevito’s House and Heisenberg’s factory really caught the environment.
I played it over 8 nights and finished it on Normal difficulty. I did my best to avoid spoilers. Overall it was a fun time. I immediately jumped in to Mercenaries mode. And started up a new game on Hardcore mode. But I think I goofed it, for I don't have any of my previous items. I think I need to somehow use my last save in the first game to do that.
Playing now Jake, can't wait. So good
It's the only story driven "linear" game that i've played twice back to back as soon as it released in so, so many years. I'm fairly certain the last time i played a game twice on release was either RE1 or Dino Crisis 2.
I have told some of my friends this and it is a bold statement.. This MIGHT be the best looking game I have ever played. The amount of detail is stunning and design of the environments is 2nd to none. Lets also not forget how well development went for this game. No bugs, no game breaking glitches, no delays, no controversial launch, nothing! a little pop-in in some areas but its crazy rare now that a product like this can launch in a near perfect state. Not even a day 1 patch. We can argue all day long whether this game is truly resident evil/ a horror game etc but you can't deny this game is a gem for its vision in how it was made
I tried the raid mode in Revelations 2 for the first time last month (on Switch, with gyro aiming), and it's the most satisfying to control third person game I've ever played. I felt fully in control of my character, and got addicted to the loop of levelling up, and unlocking weapons, gun perks, and character abilities. I then tried the raid mode in Revelations 1, but that has a much slower pace that didn't click with me. There are rumours of a Revelations 3 being made for the Switch, and I really hope it includes another raid mode like the one in 2!
Played in one sitting, to the games credit it's been a long time since I've done that. I'm talking 11 am to 330 am with some breaks. Like Jake said looks great on PS5 only had pop in textures once on the roof of a place no spoilers. The place/boss I think Jakes talking about I agree with, it was fresh and genuinly put me on edge. ( A real fear of mine because my grandma had the same setup all looking and judging, again no spoilers. Also agree when you get to the end your kind of desensitized to a lot of it, also I don't think this is a spoiler when you clear areas, you truly clear them no respawn ( hopefully it'll make sense when you play) also when you get to the end, there's another ending of sorts which I think RE knew fans would need something different and it is, the last 15 20 minutes feels like COD zombies but really well done. Didn't love all the story choices, but also had this high on the list of anticipated. I took so long because I wanted to see and get everything, because the game is worth it to see all the hard work. I'll go 8 out of 10. Great, fun game worth your time gonna play it on the unlocked harder difficulty because there are more easy parts than hard, but the hard parts are challenging. Have fun!
I absolutely loved Village most fun I’ve had with a RE game since 5. It has some clear short comings but the game is such a goddamn blast the whole time that it doesn’t matter.
The baby monster scene was by far most creepiest and brilliant part of this game for me.. hands down my favorite scene..

After clearing it twice and going for my 3rd playthrough I can say I had a blast and with all the weapons,mechanics and inventory I am looking very much forward to the RE4 remake.

I love Resident Evil, I played Resident Evil 2 first on PlayStation and my sister watched and that’s one of my best memories. Then my brother and I played 5 co op all the way through

Highly recommend it if you’re a fan of RE7, RE4 or the spin on RE’s horror that it took.
I get why longtime fans of RE aren’t as big of fans of RE7 and 8’s style of horror as someone like me or many others. But I highly recommend giving this game a shot. It’s a great horror title.
Okay i gotta say im a huge fan of the series and i loved it! It is so different for resident evil but not in a bad way. And the lords boss battles were all so unique. The only one i thought was a little bit too much was the heizenburgh one. But i will see from the end of that boss battle to the end of the game my jaw was on the floor.
Village is my game of the year. RE2 Remake is nice to just doing that love that it has more puzzles.
That sequence you speak of…..it’s absolutely incredible.
I love that the game keeps the trademark RE style strangeness, and harkens back to the action of RE4 while making it still really scary and atmospheric. It definitely feels more like Resi than 7 did.

Just started it and loving it so far. I wish I didn`t have kids so I`d have more time to play.
Man I've only finished the game now as we speak put in 35h and I can't wait when I start DLC and reply the game In 3rd person but to be honest I think with this hero 1st person is absolutely the best , I kind of like how they connect lost if stuff especially 4 , 7 some of CV . Anyway great job CAPCOM now I have to get some special edition for my collection as I only have the vanilla version and the I'm liking the game I'm usually trying to get a special edition or limited edition later on .
Loving it ! So immersive, the attention to details is implacable. And personally the amount of horror is perfect, I’m a little bitch when it comes to horror games lol.

Hey Jake great video!! I am on my second run through the game and I'm in love!! The CP system can be abused unfortunately cutting down on replay value if you know how to and decide to abuse it. And I think the stalker enemies were underused! All in all incredible game though!!
I got it as soon as I got off work at like 6in the morning and honestly as a big RE fan, it doesn't disappoint.
It feels like it's own version of RE4 y'know? But I'm not some government agent or anything like that.
Ethan feels like me or you just luckily unlucky lol.
I will say though so far it feels pretty easy compared to the other resident evils like 2 remake or 1 HD as far as first playthrough goes

I bought it before I went to work this morning and waited till the before you buy came out to take my break to see how hype I should be before I got home, installing now baby
I love the game so much. I am playing it on steam and there is some problems with studder and fps drops even on high end pc’s. Cutscenes will be out of sync at times with audio but once I messed around with the settings for longer then I would have liked I got the game to and look good at the same time. On my second play through and I see a third one coming.
