Funny because vmp performance has been making absolute monster mustangs and I know for a fact this body style can handle north of 1000hp. People twin turbo as well as root supercharge the new mustang gets and make rediculous drag times and street times. There was something really wrong with this car or shotty workmanship

@@VegasRT500 the zr1 is faster same price and much faster on track than both of them. And comes with a 7 speed manual. Funnily enough even with less power than both of them I think it's done a quicker quarter mile time in independent testing.

This just goes to show how crazy the Demon really is in a straight line and a lot of time people forget that that is EXACTLY what that car was built to do. I mean this is even without the skinny front tires and the race gas tune, so it is down 32 horsepower from where it could be and up in weight. Still yet outrunning a very premiumly priced Mustang that I am almost certain is lighter than the Demon. And this Demon is kitted out with features (Sunroof, all of the seats, etc) so it is even extra heavy. This is rather amazing in my opinion.
No one forgetting that this is what it was made to do. If anything that’s all it can do. And the Shelby in this vid needs some TLC before it can race anyone or anything.
Y'know, Dodge doesn't have a reputation for reliability, but if they were able to run a Demon 5000 times consecutively on the strip without a single issue, then that's how you know Dodge put extra special care into the Demon.

So the chassis suspension amd power of the s550 is an amazing platform but people usually domt upgrade convertibles. 30k you can buy a mustang gt or f150. The stock sealed coyote can make up to 1200whp with just boost and fuel and 60k including upgrades and car/truck and people have ran 7sec (Mustang) 8sec(f150) in the 1/4 mile or just a reliable 950whp and you have easy 8s in amustang gt and 9s in the f150. gt500 starts at $70k and the dct transmission is only good from a roll or on roadcourse because thats what the car was meant for. but 10k of tires exhaust e85 tune and pulley they run 9.5 and faster in tbe 1/4. thats the same as a demon but it can handle and thats actually cheaper than a demon. then ported supercharger or upgraded supercharger factory motor and factory transmission has gotten gt500s down to 8.3 in the 1/4. Think about it Dodge demon drag car 100k with over 100k of mods with only the chassis left from factory Built aftermarket crate motor, gm turbo500 trans aftermarket turbos or supercharger every removable panel and piece replaced with cabon fiber and nitrous and they only run mid 8s in the 1/4. thats $200+ thousand dollars to run 1 sec faster than its factory claimed 9.6. But yet a 30k mustang gt or f150 with a supercharger or turbo added can run those times. go big and build it like you have to build hellcat demon and LS and people are going 6s and as fast as 5s in the 1/4 with factory ford block. This is why a lot of chevy and dodge guys have left and started building fords or pulling their engines and putting coyotes. Fastest charger is a coyote powered charger and fastest demon in low 8s is a demon engine in a s197 mustang. Fastest H pattern domestic stick car is a s197 boss mustang with factory block that Joel steele started by driving on the streets and he was first domestic stick car in the 6s he shifted that coyote to 6.81 in the 1/4. when people get scared that mustangs lose control its usually because the onlder mustangs had a solid rear live axle. With old suspension it made it sketchy. Now these mustang run with and beat supercars on a track so it shows its driver error in a modern mustang crashing because they are top end spors cars for a fraction of the money. But then you get idiots that pay for the Hennessy, Roush, Saleen shelby etc ppl pay 100k plus for these stickers and boosted hp numbers when anyone else installing them parts can make the real 1000whp ot more. Thats a no brainer. Half that price call aldoweld or midnight performance and go 7s in a Mustang gt or 8s in a f150. But throttle house will show a shelby but not a aldoweld, midnight performance or a cx1100gt500. Racer X has a 2020 Mustang GT, he put a Hellion twin turbo kit on it and it's making over 800hp on the dyno. This guy should sell that overpriced Shelby and boost a GT. He could build it with forged internals and it would still be cheaper then that SS.

Official quarter mile time from Dodge on the Demon: 9.65 seconds. Real life drag race on Carwow 11.3 seconds. It's impossible to launch sensibly. To achieve the Dodge claimed time you'd probably have to have ideal circumstances like a sticky drag strip, slick tyres, rocket fuel, tailwind and who knows what else
The Mustang ECU was definitely pulling ignition timing. I suspect the engine is prone to overheating and pre-detonation. Unlike the Dodge, the “Shelby” wasn’t engineered from the ground up to reliably make 800+hp.
It is the shitty Whipple tune they use... I had a Whipple 2018 S550 with the 10R80 transmission and on the Whipple stage 2 tune, I put under 700 whp got a tune from a different tuner, and after dialing it in the same setup made 820 whp on the same dyno and it never would go into limp mode it would also go sideways at 70 mph if you weren't careful. and it wasn't just the peak power it made much more power all throughout the rev range... It never stopped making power it hit peak HP at the rev limiter which was 8000 at that time.
Because it’s all show no go unless you’re on a strip. Grip is non existent in all of these races on throttle house because they don’t have prepped surfaces 90 percent of the time.

What I saw looked pretty bad ass. They're both modified cars. I'm a Ford guy, but I can acknowledge an honest beating. The 5.0 is at a mechanical disadvantage. It's always going to produce less torque when they're trying to keep the hp comparable.

This just goes to show how crazy the Demon really is in a straight line and a lot of time people forget that that is EXACTLY what that car was built to do. I mean this is even without the skinny front tires and the race gas tune, so it is down 32 horsepower from where it could be and up in weight. Still yet outrunning a very premiumly priced Mustang that I am almost certain is lighter than the Demon. And this Demon is kitted out with features (Sunroof, all of the seats, etc) so it is even extra heavy. This is rather amazing in my opinion.
No one forgetting that this is what it was made to do. If anything that’s all it can do. And the Shelby in this vid needs some TLC before it can race anyone or anything.
Y'know, Dodge doesn't have a reputation for reliability, but if they were able to run a Demon 5000 times consecutively on the strip without a single issue, then that's how you know Dodge put extra special care into the Demon.

So the chassis suspension amd power of the s550 is an amazing platform but people usually domt upgrade convertibles. 30k you can buy a mustang gt or f150. The stock sealed coyote can make up to 1200whp with just boost and fuel and 60k including upgrades and car/truck and people have ran 7sec (Mustang) 8sec(f150) in the 1/4 mile or just a reliable 950whp and you have easy 8s in amustang gt and 9s in the f150. gt500 starts at $70k and the dct transmission is only good from a roll or on roadcourse because thats what the car was meant for. but 10k of tires exhaust e85 tune and pulley they run 9.5 and faster in tbe 1/4. thats the same as a demon but it can handle and thats actually cheaper than a demon. then ported supercharger or upgraded supercharger factory motor and factory transmission has gotten gt500s down to 8.3 in the 1/4. Think about it Dodge demon drag car 100k with over 100k of mods with only the chassis left from factory Built aftermarket crate motor, gm turbo500 trans aftermarket turbos or supercharger every removable panel and piece replaced with cabon fiber and nitrous and they only run mid 8s in the 1/4. thats $200+ thousand dollars to run 1 sec faster than its factory claimed 9.6. But yet a 30k mustang gt or f150 with a supercharger or turbo added can run those times. go big and build it like you have to build hellcat demon and LS and people are going 6s and as fast as 5s in the 1/4 with factory ford block. This is why a lot of chevy and dodge guys have left and started building fords or pulling their engines and putting coyotes. Fastest charger is a coyote powered charger and fastest demon in low 8s is a demon engine in a s197 mustang. Fastest H pattern domestic stick car is a s197 boss mustang with factory block that Joel steele started by driving on the streets and he was first domestic stick car in the 6s he shifted that coyote to 6.81 in the 1/4. when people get scared that mustangs lose control its usually because the onlder mustangs had a solid rear live axle. With old suspension it made it sketchy. Now these mustang run with and beat supercars on a track so it shows its driver error in a modern mustang crashing because they are top end spors cars for a fraction of the money. But then you get idiots that pay for the Hennessy, Roush, Saleen shelby etc ppl pay 100k plus for these stickers and boosted hp numbers when anyone else installing them parts can make the real 1000whp ot more. You are paying stupid money when instead of this supercharged coyote which you can buy the mustang gt put that supercharger on yourself for 12k shelby charges 70 to90k for stickers stitching in the seat and the supercharger and a few other goodies. and waaayyyy more for the widebody. 200k for a mustang gt hell you can get a gt500 with palm beach dynos cx1100 package. 1100whp tons of cabon fiber low 9s high 8s in the 1/4 still handles and its a 50k package for your 70 to 90k gt500. Thats a no brainer. Half that price call aldoweld or midnight performance and go 7s in a Mustang gt or 8s in a f150. But throttle house will show a shelby but not a aldoweld, midnight performance or a cx1100gt500. Cuz those are the best in the game and nothinh they show ever again tesla bugattis etc will not even beat their f150s

Racer X has a 2020 Mustang GT, he put a Hellion twin turbo kit on it and it's making over 800hp on the dyno. This guy should sell that overpriced Shelby and boost a GT. He could build it with forged internals and it would still be cheaper then that SS.

Official quarter mile time from Dodge on the Demon: 9.65 seconds. Real life drag race on Carwow 11.3 seconds. It's impossible to launch sensibly. To achieve the Dodge claimed time you'd probably have to have ideal circumstances like a sticky drag strip, slick tyres, rocket fuel, tailwind and who knows what else

The Mustang ECU was definitely pulling ignition timing. I suspect the engine is prone to overheating and pre-detonation. Unlike the Dodge, the “Shelby” wasn’t engineered from the ground up to reliably make 800+hp.

It is the shitty Whipple tune they use... I had a Whipple 2018 S550 with the 10R80 transmission and on the Whipple stage 2 tune, I put under 700 whp got a tune from a different tuner, and after dialing it in the same setup made 820 whp on the same dyno and it never would go into limp mode it would also go sideways at 70 mph if you weren't careful. and it wasn't just the peak power it made much more power all throughout the rev range... It never stopped making power it hit peak HP at the rev limiter which was 8000 at that time.

Because it’s all show no go unless you’re on a strip. Grip is non existent in all of these races on throttle house because they don’t have prepped surfaces 90 percent of the time.

Im a GM guy but loves Mopars. Expected the Shelby to win this race tbh because its lighter. But the power in the Shelby is twisting the chassis and body cant hold up.

I'm guessing the Mustang loses. For one, it's a convertible. They have horrible chassis dynamics and when you apply more power to it, it just gets worse.
