I have the Phileas. I once had four of them. Now, just two. But I never owned (but have used) the Kultur. In any case, I love these pens. Especially the Phileas, which is all round nicer than the Kultur. Waterman was always a maker of stylish pens, at any price. I really resent and regret the fact that Waterman discontinued both these models. Inexpensive but unfailingly reliable and fun to use. The Kultur is a far nicer ‘starter’ pen than all the popular modern ones that are named in that category today. In my not-so-humble opinion of course. I’d take a Kultur over, say, a Safari or a Metropolitan every day of the year.
Kudos for reviewing this old and very good pen, Alan. And that Audacious Red is a great red and a top pick in an already very recommended line of Waterman inks.

Not familiar with Waterman’s line up of pens but like the look of Audacious Red: the only red in my currently inked pens is plain old Pilot red which works well in my Pilot78g EF:)(glad you’re back!:)

I'm not sure if this is a Kultur, but for sure it's a Phileas. AFAIK, the Kultur is the transparent version of the Phileas and it's complete name is Phileas Kultur, possibly all Phileas in acrylic could be Kultur but I think nobody is sure of that XD. I know because my first fountain pen was a Phileas Kultur which I still have😁

Thanks for the review. I don't hear much about Watetman these days. These days, the FP reviewers talk about TWSBI, Sailor, Pilot, and other brands. Sheaffer, Waterman, etc rarely get reviews nowadays. Why do you think so?
