Just here after having played and beat the game many times to see how close or how many prediction you got right. I wouldn't have got much if any right. The went a different way than probably any AW die hard fan would have thought with the characters and the story
I am really excited to learn more about Alan Wake, one thing I want to learn more about is Mr. Scratch. Everyone assumes he is evil but we really do not learn much about him in the first game, afterall we only see him once and that is it. I know in America Nightmare they touch more upon his character however I dont think that is cannon anymore? IDK why he was created in the first place, when Alice entered the dark place she did not get an evil clone. I just love that Remedy puts out storylines that are open ended to a point where fans can speculate and actually have converstations about theories about what will happen or what did happen.
I'm right there with you and I think we will definitely learn who/what Mr Scratch is in Alan wake 2, personally I think he will be evil because of the parallels between Alan wake and twin peaks, with him being like Bob. As for American nightmare not being cannon, I think it only isn't because it's a story that Alan wrote whilst trapped in the dark place. Another failed attempt at escaping.
This game no matter how diehard of a fan, and no matter how much lore you know, this would have been nearly impossible to guess or predict nearly anything correct. They took the story and the characters in a different way. OLD GODS, Rose, Cynthia, Thomas Zaine. They were all different to the story than I thought. After playing the game idr if it was mentioned in the first game but I'm glad they added dialoge to let us know that the dark place and the people that use it's power can NOT create a person out of thin air. They have to already exsist and they can only have their life altered and influenced. Alan can't just create a new person. Alex Casey already exsited.. It is also cool that Alan is Clairvoyant and his stories were actually visions of Alex Casey
I was very happy that they cleared a few thing up. But i'm also happy that they left us hanging at the end, now we've just got to wait for the dlc to see how much more of the puzzle is revealed.
This is easily one of my favorite games. I really love this dev team. I really like that they are adding in a bunch of detective work because I've always felt it's such a great video game idea.
I loved the first game and this has become my most anticipated game. I'm right there with you, I think the detective aspect is going to really add another level to the gameplay. Not long to wait now. Ps. thanks for the comment.

There's something just so fun being able to explore and look around while having full control over your flashlight. Add in the detective work and it could really enhance the experience

Yeah, it's a shame that they don't own the rights to quantum break. It'd be great if they could officially link it all together.

The name James Joyce is pretty similar to another chracter of Remedy's Jack Joyce.
You're right, I never picked up on that. But I also never finished quantum break.
