    This game no matter how diehard of a fan, and no matter how much lore you know, this would have been nearly impossible to guess or predict nearly anything correct. They took the story and the characters in a different way. OLD GODS, Rose, Cynthia, Thomas Zaine. They were all different to the story than I thought. After playing the game idr if it was mentioned in the first game but I'm glad they added dialoge to let us know that the dark place and the people that use it's power can NOT create a person out of thin air. They have to already exsist and they can only have their life altered and influenced. Alan can't just create a new person. Alex Casey already exsited.. It is also cool that Alan is Clairvoyant and his stories were actually visions of Alex Casey

    I loved Control and the universe, except the stories Alan Wake writes, and his person too. I had my share of primadonnas like him, and recently discovered the base of his character is Stephen King, a long time famous horror-writer whose novels I find really boring. :)

      Thanks for commenting. I agree and I think Alan isn't supposed to be liked, he's clearly the stereotypical self absorbed alcoholic writer that we've all heard of. End of Story. For god sake, I spent 15 hours playing the game, and 100 hours watching analytical videos and fan theories 😂😂😂 I did not dare to play Alan Wake 2 yet, because I know it needs a crystal clear mind to focus and absorb what Sam Lake brought this time, therefore I am waiting the next fight with my wife, she usually ignores me for 3 days (hopefully 4), which I believe is an enough time to delve myself in the game's atmosphere. @@dadquest1982 I would like to praise your way of presenting the video. I wish you and your channel the best deeply. From now on, I am a regular subscriber to your channel. I have loved Remedy games since Max Payne 1 came out, but my problem with them is their exaggerated depth and the creation of a highly complex, intertwined world based primarily on unproven ideas and theories, and thus conflicts and weaknesses gradually begin to appear in the plot that may lead to the idea of the game being illogical and hard to swallow. I mention... For example, there are so many inconsistencies in the story of Quantum Break that the idea behind the game has become incomprehensible, and this applies to all of their games. For example in Control, as we know, Trench had been planning for years to bring the Hiss to our world because he became infected, so it is incomprehensible why he or his conscious was helping Jesse at the beginning of the game via the Hotline, and why he taught her how to purge the control points of the Hiss, in a contrary to his main goal. Not to be biased, I enjoy Remedy games without exaggerating in the fault-hunting, so I am eager to play Alan Wake 2 and therefore it was necessary to replay the AW1 in addition to Control and its expansions. Once again, thank you for this beautiful video, and I wish you a happy year, from a dad to a dad :)

    • @dadquest1982
      @dadquest1982 7 місяців тому

      @@mustafahabra2682 thanks so much for the nice comments, us dads have got to stick together. I can't disagree with the convoluted nature of some of the story telling from remedy, but for me that's part of what makes them what they are. I can't speak on quantum break because I never got more than about an hour into it, but I do know that they weren't in full creative control with that because of being owned at Microsoft at the time and that being paired with an external company to make the TV sections probably made it difficult to be cohesive.

    • @mustafahabra2682
      @mustafahabra2682 7 місяців тому

      @@dadquest1982 I cannot agree with you more, we do like Remedy as it is. About Quantum Break, I strongly recommend you to play it, I will give you the same tip you gave me, to play it twice. I agree there were many factors made it not the best selling game, but lack of creativity is not one of them, this game has its own quality and atmosphere, and despite the TV sections lack the spirit of the game, but the end product is not bad, it is easy to be involved with the characters and be thrilled with each new event. You certainly know that the actress who played Jesse in Control played the role of Beth in Quantum Break. Perhaps this is just my opinion, but the character of Beth was a positive, active and likable character for me and it made me want a second part of the game to find out what happened to her, while she was... Jesse's character is devoid of anything that distinguishes her or anything that makes me relate to her as a heroine with good motives. which makes me ask myself: Do I really want to see Jesse in a second game? I think that Remedy wanted to focus more on presenting a strong female character in Control, regardless of whether she was an influential character or not, and the result was in my opinion, a cold provocative, and devoid of feelings character. Unfortunately not everyone can successfully create a combination similar to Lara Croft. Sorry for the long debate, let us both chill and listen to Dynamite covered by Dr. Darling (Dont hate me but I believe he is the best character in Control by all means :)

    @dragondelsur5156 7 місяців тому

    Here's something that you missed though: Alan Wake can't create anything out of nothing, not without the clicker. Alan said that he got his ideas from his dreams, thanks to the second game we now know he can see visions of the future, which is how he got to create the Alex Casey series of books. Anything that happened in Control would've happened either way with or without Alan writing the events, because the characters he creates are actually real people (like Alex Casey), for example, there are pages about a rejected script for Night Springs that detail the events of the main game leading to the Hiss infecting the entire Bureau, which maybe got from a vision. Alan wouldn't be someone to create a new powerful entity unrelated to the Dark Presence to escape, Jesse wouldn't be able to save him inside the Oldest House either.

    • @dadquest1982
      @dadquest1982 7 місяців тому

      I agree that he didn't create the hiss and is unable to create anything without the clicker. I do however believe that he shaped the events of control and how the hiss act/speak, kind of like he's moving pieces on a chess board. Thanks for commenting I really appreciate all the feedback and theories people have. I hope you have a great new year.

    Just found this channel great video, love the intro. You did a great job recapping the events. I would love to see some videos of your theories on the lore. I’m such a fan of horror games seems like I’ll be binging your catalog of videos.

      I'm so happy you like the video. I'll be planning another one soon once things calm down from Christmas and New year's. I'm right with you on horror games, it's always been my favourite genre along with rpg's

    I don't think alan created hiss. I think his talking about saga at that part not jessy. Because after that he says return. And I think the lake and the oldest house are related somehow, that's why we see the signal even in lockdown. Or something scaped and broke the lock down.

      You could be right about Saga and I'm certainly not a font of knowledge on the games. but personally I think that as he wrote the hiss incantation and spoke about it in the same hotline call as talking about the government agency he was talking about Jessie. But I do agree that he didn't invent the hiss, he just shaped the events leading to their invasion of the oldest house. Either way it's super interesting hearing everyone else's theories and takes of the story. Thanks for commenting and have a great new year.

    Why say this is going to cover the AWE dlc when you just start from the beginning of base game Control? Shouldn’t this be “Everything that happened in Control besides The Foundation DLC?”

      I was just covering the basics of the start of control, I barely touched that story. I was just trying to add a bit of clarity for people who were just interested in Alan wake so they didn't get lost. Thanks for the comment have a great new year.

    You probably hear this often, but your voice reminds me of Richard Ayoade. Anyway, great and informative video!
