I'll smoke a cigar back and forth to work and relight it several times over a couple of days who cares? but maybe I'm just a classless rube
i just leave it in the ashtray for the next day unwrapped. I've never had a day-old that's just been sitting out that wasn't smokable. I've even left them outdoors overnight and smoked the next morning. Don't overthink it.
I really do love all these reviews. One of the reasons why I have been shopping from famous since November of 2000. You are all the best.
My boyfriend left a cigar his dad gave him in my dorm, i asked him about it and he told me to throw it away so instead i kept it, it was half finished and this is good to know how to preserve the last half as best i can
Sometimes the best thing to do is throw it away. Thanks for watching.
@@CigarAdvisorMagazineor put it in resin and preserve it as a statement piece
Someone I know froze their half smoked cigar hoping that innovative technology will be created that can be used to make it as good as new some time in the not so distant future.
My fiance and I had a type a cigar few weeks ago and it was too big to smoke in one sitting so we decided to save it for the day.
I put them in a ziplock and put them in one of my small humidors. That was a horrible mistake.
Not only did I have to throw out the two Type A's, I had to clean and disinfect that humidor.
Great video!
Just buy another one, if you're not finishing a cigar, it's most likely because money isn't an issue. I always finish a cigar, no matter what because I'm broke as shit.
Amen brother lol
@ObnoxiousCancer facccs lolol
Oh ya? Well if it's a Cohiba?
@@georgiamartinetti7727 I just got gifted a $100 Cohiba Talisman, and dont really want to smoke it in one go!
Yeah dood that’s what a man does. Finish the stogie. 👊🏽
After I make sure it's out, I usually cut a lil past the ash then try to blow as much of the old smoke that I can.
I was going to say, blowing out the cigar is also a good way too make sure it doesn't taste like old smoke.
That datejust is classy. Love the content on the channel. Way to go.
For the love of god don't put it in a tubo. the whole cigar will have that stinky ashtray smell. Just purge it real good, clip the foot and leave it out.
Thanks for this great tip! Never knew you could save a cigar for next day.
Good ideas. I also trim off the tip that you draw from to clean that up from moisture and tar as well as the lit end.
ive always wanted to know how to save a half smoken cigar thank you for this video sir
Glad we could help. thanks for watching.
I too have left cigars in my ashtray and smoked later. Surprisingly good.
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching.
I got recently a box with fresh 25 Cohiba Robustos, directly from Cuba , but I quite smoking 35 years ago.
Thank you for the video. Would it be bad if i leave it out unwrapped ?
Like he said people, for whatever reason you may have to set it down
Awesome!! Thank you.
Good one, can't agree more .. thumbs up:)
I don't know anybody who throws away unfinished cigars. Even the rich guys will not throw away an good cigar, they will relight it. So, don't feel bad about doing it. Most people don't get to finish their cigars because there's ALWAYS something coming up. Just be generous with the cut. Cutting just the top won't do it for me. I'd rather finish only the GOOD part.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I rarely smoke, but I had a Romeo Y Julieta that I relit several times over a few weeks. Tasted much better halfway through despite being old.
J Borg hummmm... interesting
I'm smoking the Romeo y Julieta literally right now lol, what a coincidence i see this comment !!!
after the burn is out ... you should blow the residual smoke out from the mouthpiece thru the ash ... then cut the ash end off ... old reefer trick!
Thanks for leaving a comment. We will have to try that.
is that a rolex oyster perpetual i see you wearing
Can I store in a pressing cover
Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
I thought you had to purge the cigar on relight by blowing through over an open flame?
What about trim the used end. wrap celophane or foil around the smoked end. Then put it in a tubeidor or whatever they're called. Then the tubidor won't smell mystified!
Darin Vaughan LMAO!!! Hilarious 😂😂😂
I relit a macanudo hp 10 minutes later and it tasted like shit. I threw that cigar as far as i can.
Can I put it back in the box
I have a half smoked one I didn't finish new years eve it's been a week in its original tube, is it ok after a week?
It might be, depends if it dried out. Did you knock the ash off?
I wish I seen this about 2 months ago when I tried to save one and put it back with my other cigars. Not a pleasant experience.
What's the brown residue found in the back of machine rolled cigars
Thanks for watching. We're not sure.
They taste differ because you don't have that cigar taste already in your mouth
I learned the hard way about not putting a half-smoked cigar back in my humidor. It seems like such an obvious mistake NOW but at the time I had no clue how long that stink would last!
When I first started smoking cigars I made the mistake of putting half of it back in the tube , it smelled and tasted so bad that I just threw it away after the first 2 puffs. Please don’t make the same mistake and just Clip the foot off and let it sit.
I was told to blow out the smoke after cutting the ash end off. This way the smoke does not flavor the rest of the cigar overnight.
it takes 20-40 minutes of a cigar being out for it to be absolutely ruined
You finish it
What cigar is good for relight
Thanks for watching. That's a personal preference, experiment and see if your favorite cigar is good for relighting.
What did u wrap it in
plastic wrap. like when you have leftover food.
If I'm smoking a cigar at the firehouse and we get a call, I relight it when I get back. It's not that serious.
Aren’t cigar illegal for firefighters
Ballstavius Deadeyes you clearly never tried becoming a firefighter. There is a policy.
Ballstavius Deadeyes la county and Orange County fire don’t allow it you get fired and benefits get taken away they take it serious here. Sucks
@@daviddude7980 "Clearly never tried becoming a firefighter" Then the response is, he is in fact a firefighter. People like you make me hate the internet. Judge and judge some more, and you don't even know the person.
Edit: Oh, you're from California. No wonder. Not surprised. You people are fucking vultures. How's that for judge, jury and executioner. Douche bag.
I am absolutely gob smacked, you know that. Just buy a CT for the morning!
Plus. I think once It's relit , the smell won't last. or taste. Unless you have a 10 x 13 or larger.
thanks for great advice
Thanks for watching.
Thats like smoking half a spliff then smoking the rest the next morning... that shiit nasssty bro
Does anybody save their first ever cigar end??
Eric Saylor i smoked my first cigar with some friends and the butt kinda dissapeared
Should u let it die out or put it out
Let it die out.
What about months later??...lol
i tried this before and i didn't like the taste, i prefer smoking the cigar all the way and if i can't smoke it then, too bad i would just throw it away.
That's we normally do most of the time. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Cut it before smoking in two! Or smoke the cigar and than store the rest for bad times!
I clip it off. So you're not relighting a charred end.
Answer is you don't save them. You smoke them until you finish it.
Thanks for leaving a comment.
The best way and only way is to purge the cigar out.
Pete Smitherman What? Purge the cigar ?
@@darinvaughan2268 blow all the bad smoke out of it, then cut the end
Do not do this, if you light a cigar smoke it all or throw it out.
What about 20-30 years old(or more) old Cigars(those who already been dry), is there any way to revive them again?! or is it ok to even smoke them?
haetham Adam There is no way you can revive cigars that have been dried-out for several decades. That said, you can keep cigars supple for that long with the proper relative humidity (RH) and temperature; but even under ideal conditions, most cigars will lose their flavor profile after 10 years. Hope this helped.
- Gary Korb
Thanks for your answer. What about old Cigar boxes which still sealed(never opened)! Do you think they still okay?can it be that they still not dry?!
another Q. about Humidor, Can i use a used one or it has to be new? is there anything that i have to replace in it? which humidity range should it be then?
+haetham Adam old humidor are fine if they don't stink! You can wash it with water and apple vinegar and leave it open for a month to kill all the fungi inside. just check it closes properly and use the same procedure to "start" a humidor.. when it's stable at desired humidity add cigars.
LOL
That's wrong u never cut a cigar once u have lit it. I scrape out the ask with something and re light
Blow the smoke out the front then cut it back
ooh hell no!
they taste terrible
unlike a pipe you can't smoke it again its like smoking baked ass
Devin Petersen Lmao!!! I'm just curious (although I'll probably regret asking this question) how do you prepare "baked ass" or how do you avoid preparing since you are referring to it as something undesirable ?
answer: you don't
Thus... half corona. :)
Just take a new one from your humidor next time, you just don't save cigars...
I’d you re-light them and don’t mind the taste or don’t, who cares? There is no reason to be pretentious about it. People get the same way about bourbon. It’s all terrible for us. You aren’t special because you “NEVER save a cigar!”
Half smoked cigar is NEVER as good as it would have been if you had smoked the whole thing. After doing it once you will make sure you allow time to smoke the WHOLE thing....
“How do I save a half smoked cigar?”
*YOU DON’T!*
Thanks for watching.
Sorry, I know is just a matter of personal taste, but for G-d sake, if after 15 minutes to 2 hours you don't lit back a cigar just let it go. It would taste horrible and the smell, please.
You should never 'cut back' the cigar. Can damage the wrapper.
Once I light my cigar I'm going to smoke it all the way down.
PERIOD.
No such thing as storing a half smoked cigar
You need a new cutter, it shouldn't be that hard to clip a cigar
To be precise, it is NOT cellophane. It is plastic foil that keeps humidity out. For your curiosity, cellophane is permeable for water but not for larger molecules, and that is the reason being good to seal jam for example. Educate yourself.
NEVER store a smoked cigar ever
Groooooooossssss next day relight. If your that cheap find a new hobby.
Beast yeah I would toss it and I can count on zero hands how many times a real emergency happened when I was smoking. Especially since that $30 cigar will taste like ass the next day.
Luke Holman
By emergency, it doesn't necessarily have to be life altering. Even something simple as finding out that you must prep/cook food for the family that day, after you sat down to enjoy cigar. Or your family member is stuck on the road, or your nephew is coming over and you have to entertain him because hes a kid that needs attention, or you have to go to the store, or...cmon, you get the jist.
I have relit cigars many times, they never taste like ass. Probably because i leave them out to breathe..
Im not cheap, but why throw away a perfectly good cigar when (for me) it doesnt taste bad at all?
I've been studying quitting smoking and discovered an awesome website at Avyan Smoke Tactics (google it if you are interested)
