    Thanks for the demo of this! I test drove one and the salesman had zero clue. Only when we got back did another salesman tell us that this particular car didn't have that feature. 🤦‍♂️

    I have a 2024 GC Summit and have been using the driver assist feature for the past 3 months. Here's my take....
    1. It works well on the highway. Actually really well.
    2. It works ok on city driving but many roads that are not lined well and that is a problem. As JB stated in this video, on curvy back roads do not use it.
    3. Surprisingly works well in highway construction zones in stop-and-go traffic.
    4. It seems to center in the lane fairly well but I like to stay closer to the berm at high speeds so I find myself correcting it but, again, its the way I like to drive.
    5. Its easy to set the distance between me and the traffic in front. It brakes gradually with no sudden stomp on the brake unless traffic flow dictates it.
    In summary, I use it all the time on the highway. I like it. You have to be touching the steering wheel which is a GOOD THING.

    I made the mistake of getting my overland 4xe before I knew about this. I definitely was disappointed when I realized it wasn’t a standard feature on such a pricey car.

      @@JB_WhoWork Its called "highway assist" and is NOT intended for back roads with no lines. You need to make sure people understand that back roads are NOT its intended use. So attempting to misuse the feature puts the burden on you.

    This is NOT self driving like a Tesla. This is Active Drive Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. This just keeps you in your lane and keeps the distance from the car in front of you. Tesla self driving is way more advanced where you put in a destination and the car will drive you there. Don’t get me wrong, ADA and ACC in the Grand Cherokee L are awesome, but it is not the same thing.

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  2 роки тому +1

      Jeep is getting ready to release a hands free version but it’s pretty advance to keep you centered and to slow you down with minimum feedback 👍🏾

      @@JB_WhoWork yeah, it’s supposed to come out on the 2022s. I’ve used ADA and ACC on several long drives, two of which were 2,000 mile round trips. It’s so cool and makes the drive so easy. For most of it, I just keep my finger on the wheel or keep my leg touching it and it just keeps me in my lane for miles and miles! I love it. It’s even better in heavy traffic. It’ll keep me a safe distance from the car in front of me and even re-engage from a full stop. I’ve been in hours of traffic and never have to touch the peddles.

    Will it work while towing a small trailer ? I have this on my 23 summit reserve L. They were giving these away end of 2023 at 20k off. I love the system, actually just figured out recently it had it lol. Works great on hwy, better than my gmc Denali super cruise which works on only a few highways and randomly at that. This works consistently on highways

    Cool video! I'm not sure if you own the vehicle or if this was some loaner test vehicle from Jeep but can you do a test where you put a stress ball and wedge it in the steering wheel and then have your hands off the steering wheel to see if the squishy stress ball tricks the autonomous system into thinking your hands are on it?
    I'm just curious if it will still work, is all.

    My 19 X3 does this…. So annoying….honestly, it’s pointless if it’s not setup for hands free…. The Hyundai Tucson works amazing though. Yes, if you don’t place hands on wheel, it deactivates. I did notice this one time, I had my adaptive cruise on, and I let the wheel warning go past the red, and the car actually tapped the brakes to get my attention.

    You have to option up to around $69,645 to get one with this feature on the with a V8, that's insane for a Jeep. Advance ProTech III requires Luxury IV package (Overland)............ you have to dial back a bunch of options and it's still $66,615 with the V8 to have this. Then you have a small screen, no off-road package, etc etc.....

      But the Jeep GCL can drive itself???

    • @randys766
      @randys766 2 роки тому

      @@JB_WhoWork so it would be fair to say that it has safety features that prevent lane departure and frontal collision. That's why it's called a "safety package" rather than an "autonomous driving" package. It's meant to prevent accidents from distracted or tired driving. It sounds semantic, but it's very much not. You Cannot enter a destination and have it take you there, nor can you allow the vehicle to operate independently. I think GM has a mode that allows that. Would be a good video. I think it's called Ultra cruise or something similar.

    • @JB_WhoWork
