I just got a hitch installed in the bumper of my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 by 4, 2023, so that I can connect my rv trailer. I have no idea how to open it with my Uconnect. The shop that installed it told me to look at the jeep's manual, which I looked at, but I can't find it on the uconnect. Do you know how? Thank you!
@@CarsWithSteve It seems on my 2025 Summit Reserve both remotes can be set for the Drivers door only. So I am #1, wife is @2. and the Drivers door works to Preset parameters on DRIVERS DOOR ONLY for number 1 & Set Positions ( for mirrors, seats and all other preferences.. But if Im driving ,wife needs only get in Passenger door and press #2 on door panel ( not remote) if she needs to get her seat back to normal. Anybody else find that?
@@CarsWithSteve My English is not good, so it is difficult to read the manual, but from your video I can learn detailed knowledge about this model of car!
I just purchased a 2022 Summit Reserve- the rear entertainment system was supposed to be standard - mine does not have the back rest monitors ? I was reading there was a shortage in chips at the time. ? How would I add it now ? Like do you know if the car is equipped as far as the routers and stuff goes ?
The 2nd row screens aren't standard in the ride.. and I'm pretty sure they're only available in the Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve Iand and the standard Grand Cherokee. It's the Rear Seat Video Group I that would have needed to be added in. The cost isn't worth doing it aftermarket, just grab a few cheap tablets
Hi, great video so helpful. I previously owned a 2018 GC Limited, just purchased a 2024. There are a couple of settings I can't seem to find on the 2024 version & wondering if you have found them or if they are just gone: 1. Setting a threshold for the Speeding Alert, or is it now all or nothing? 2. Anyway to lock the gas door/flap? Thanks!
Glad the video helped! The gas door can't be locked unless you're in a hybrid but there's anti-siphon tech built in. As for the speed alert, it's all or nothing unfortunately. No way to set a tolerance for over or under at this point. But I'd say reach out to Jeep corporate and ask for the feature. If they don't hear what people want to see they'll have no idea!
@@CarsWithSteve Thank you for the answers. Both of those features were available in my 2018 so I am shocked that they were removed. I will definitely reach out to Jeep corporate since I think those are both bad decisions to remove especially since other makes have both. Thanks again.
hi again Steve...I'm amazed there is a time out on the tail gate of my 2024 Jeep GC that prevents any electronic closer,. You have to manually close it. Is there a way to adjust (make it long!) the time out period OR defeat this NON-feature completely. Thanks again!
Hey Jim!! That one is news to me.. I didn't know that if it's left up for too long it'll revert to manual. I'll have to give that a try the next time I'm in a Grand Cherokee!
Thank you, Steve always value your notes and quick response. . if any one else on you "fan list" has dealt with this issue i hope they please reply.@CarsWithSteve
I just got this jeep and I am saving favorite artist alerts on xm radio but the alerts are not popping up. Any ideas why not? I think I have notifications on but maybe I am missing a setting?
I have a 2024 GC Summit. The nav has a dark scree like night mode but still see the navigation roads and such. I tried a different setting but cannot get it to look like this. Is there something I may be missing?
Hi dear.. pls talk abt the volume Knobe and on/off button. My screen just vanishes if I press the on/off knobe button.. but I thought that was meant for the volume on/off and not for the screen on/off
Can i play the video’s media on the screen of jeep grand cherokee 2022 limited , like the screen you are projecting in this video explanation?? If i can’t playing videos on this screen what are the solutions to solve the issue ??
Videos can't be played through the main screen in the middle.. just through the passenger side screen if your Grand Cherokee has one.. There's no solid solution I've come across yet
Steve.. i have a 2024 Grand Cherokee limited.. I want to send a 'custom' message via voice command with my Android 22+ phone. My Uconnect doesn't offer my voice as a message input.. it only provides the fixed replies i can choose. It does recognize my voice for placing phone calls.. I know it can be set up to offer direct voice messages with Android newer phones. Can you tell me how to set up? thanks.
You'd need to activate your Google Assistant to send a custom message. If you're doing a short press of the voice command prompt when connect to Android Auto, it'll launch the uConnect assistant but a longer press and hold will activate your Google Assistant which should allow for a custom message. You should also be able to say "Hey Google" to activate your assistant that way too
I just purchased a '24 JGC. Overall, i like the vehicle, but.....I was not aware of the Android play, because I had a '20 JGC before. I have found the new vehicle to be quite different in the entertainment area. I do not like the layout at all. When I test-drove it, the sun was not out.....the glare and the fingerprints makes the display hard to read when the sun is out. 2nd thing, the start/stop feature doesn't activate, not that i'm complaining, but does anyone else stop/start feature not work?
It's definitely different from the previous generation. There are some aftermarket screen protectors you could look at but you're right.. it's a fingerprint magnet! The start/stop feature doesn't always activate.. it's up to the car when it happens. There are times when the engine won't power down when you're stopped.. things like the engine not being fully warmed up.. if you have heat or AC running, etc
I did what showed on how to connect android auto. It did not tell me " do u want to connect android auto". What am I doing wrong. Android auto is not showing on the screen

U did great! But unfortunately there are salespeople who doesn’t know anything about the vehicle they are trying to sell
Thanks! That's one of the reasons why I started making these videos.. Makes it easier for owners to get to know their rides!

Thank you for this much-needed information! 🙌🏻

What about keyless entry? Does the vehicle recognize driver 1or 2 just opening the door with the key fob in your pocket?
Yes, it'll recognize the driver and passenger side as long as the fob is within 5 ft of the handle!

Is there a way to have the audio pages presets separate to different broadcast as in AM, FM, and SXM.
Nope.. presets are all grouped together
@ thanks, wish they would bring that feature back…
Yeah, it's a weird choice for them to remove that

If you have the artist/song alert on it should be working... Have you tried a soft reboot to see if that helps?

Yes, it's backwards compatible. You just need to make sure that you're using a USB cable that supports data transfer

How can i turn off the USB ports when I turn off the vehicle so my dash camera doesnt stay on? Any help
The power draw should stop when you turn the car off. Dash cams are always best either hard wired or find a power cable that runs via the OBD2 port

Only using the button for the 360 camera or if you have park assist. Outside of that they don't have a useful function unfortunately
