I completely agree; The whole "take over now, driver; I can't do my thing so it's your turn now" transition, trigger, and notification all need to be much more in-your-face just like Super Cruise. Every manufacturer really does need to adopt that light bar on the steering wheel implementation that Super Cruise uses. It's just hands down (lol) the simplest and most direct way to notify the driver to take over. Thank you for making this video. I always appreciate the information that I can glean from your videos. I was considering the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee for exactly this feature (and a few other features) but it's just not worth the money with this kind implementation missing the light bar. I'm glad to see it's not completely unpolished but I'm still disappointed it disengages so easily without much of a hint.
People really don’t like a chorus of beeps and chimes while they drive. However, I agree that some easy visual cues of what the driver needs to do are certainly needed in this system - right there in the normal line of sight.
I think having a chime when the system is activated/deactivated is informative enough to be necessary, it grabs the drivers attention, which is needed, especially when the system deactivates itself. Tesla does this and there’s no complaints about that part of Autopilot, can’t see why Ram can’t either.
Heads up Alex. You don't have to depend on your co-pilot to pay attention. Just put your hand on over the driver monitoring camera. Results will be the same.
Many people complained about the Bluecruise notifications interrupting the radio and disturbing the passengers, which is why I think many of them are now silent
Great review, Alex. You should do an updated comparison video every 6-12 months letting us know your rankings for the various hands-off, eyes-on automated driving systems.
I won't deny that SuperCruise's system is more visible, but I think that BlueCruise's system is more that satisfactory. Having your entire dash light up bright blue is hard not to notice. And personally, I really liked not having all the dings that I got on Tesla's FSD.
Hi Alex, I just watched this video. Very informative as I wait for my soon to be delivered Ram! What is the song you play in the. Video starting at 8:49?
Supercruise is in-house GM. Not sure about Blue Cruise. I heard that may be Aptiv the supplier but I could be wrong. I'm only confident with what GM is doing.
Just wish ford or ram would do auto lane change by itself like it does on my escalade without me having to flick the signal on. Also does it move away from 18 wheelers when you ride next to them?
I'd trust Tesla's Camera based ADAS which contributed to hundreds of fatalities vs Ram/Stalantis LIDAR/ADAS giving there spotty history when it comes to electronic components.
I'm glad that Ram is getting there but frankly this is such a sad state for such a major manufacturer. Teslas autopilot was better than this a decade ago. No, I don't expect everyone to be as good as Tesla but this is so antiquated that it makes me sad. I really hope CDJR puts all their resources and expertise into warp speeding their progress so they can at least get to a functional and useful product fast.
Service for all the technology added will suck!! It already sucks!!! Drop it off & get it back in 6-8 weeks. Hard pass on this Garbage. Give me the models before all these 24-25 models. I will enjoy less headaches for as long as possble. My 2021 Laramie brand new full size cab full bed 33 gallon tank fully loaded special order. Water pump bad in 6 months. Battery exploded in 3 months. Had to replace cause dealer couldnt touch it for 4 months to get a water pump. I found the freaking pump myself. No need say what happened after got the part. more you use this garbage the more accidents. Quit bein lazy & drive your own vehicle. They are having us participate in own demise. Oh & that will be 80K for a 1500 pick up truck. Im done with dodge. GM or Chevy better. Pick ur poison wisely 😂
I am not sure why we need “hands-free” driving. It is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. If you want hands free, perhaps take a cab or a bus & “leave the driving to us.”
Because you always have the option. If you want to enjoy driving on a windy back road, you still can. If you want to relax for a 400 mile stretch of straight roads with no scenery in the middle of Texas, you can.
I had a regular commute that was almost all along the same highway. Having BlueCruise was awesome for that. It was like having my own personal Uber that I didn't have to pay (extra) or wait for.
Hands free should never be allowed in a vehicle. It's bad enough that there are so many horrible drivers on the road today. I keep my hands on the wheel and watch out for the incredible amount of stupid drivers out there, shit happens to quickly.

I just ordered a 2025 Grand Wagoneer, I’m wondering does it have this option is the Drowsy detection the same thing
Hi there do you find that option only on high end trim level or you can add on the big horn and sport package ??
Min 5:00 the chevy guy checking the RAM for a while, lol.
Hi Alex, I just watched this video. Very informative as I wait for my soon to be delivered Ram! What is the song you play in the. Video starting at 8:49?
Is this in-house technology or is there an outside supplier? What about for Ford Blue Cruise and GM Super Cruise?
Supercruise is in-house GM. Not sure about Blue Cruise. I heard that may be Aptiv the supplier but I could be wrong. I'm only confident with what GM is doing.
Supercruise is In-house
Bluecruise is 50% Aptiv 50% Ford in-house
Ram is 100% Aptiv
@@Shed987 thanks! 👍🏼
Would this require a subscription (a la GM's Supercruise) after the 1st 2-3 years?
Just wish ford or ram would do auto lane change by itself like it does on my escalade without me having to flick the signal on. Also does it move away from 18 wheelers when you ride next to them?
Can you also order this exact system on the Grand Wagoneer models now too?
The constant blinking dash signals would drive me nuts.
Is there a map or some information about what free/highways are logged for this system?
Any word if the ADA can be engaged when towing?
Alex, it's time you create your own adas / driver assist playlist with testing like this with your codriver
How does it handle the death wobble?
I’d like to see a hands free system where comma ai is the supplier. I’ve heard incredible things about that device
I'd trust Tesla's Camera based ADAS which contributed to hundreds of fatalities vs Ram/Stalantis LIDAR/ADAS giving there spotty history when it comes to electronic components.
Alex, any idea when you will be ablt to test the RamCharger?
Sort of playing devil's advocate but, how does a cop know you're in hands free mode?
Doesn’t matter your own the ticket same a DUI.
None of the cops business what you're doing unless you're causing an issue and if you cause an issue its your fault either way
@@Cee1019 True, I suppose this would fall under the same rules as "it's illegal to drive barefoot".
How does this compare to Tesla FSD?
I guess I'm old school. I could never see myself letting any vehicle I'm willing to get in drive itself.
Do the instructions omit sunglasses?
No. Sunglasses are fine and don’t affect it
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
A comparison video from Alex on Comma AI, Tesla FSD Beta, BMW/Mercedes assisted ones and these would be amazing.

Stop snitching that the car doesn’t bother enough
Sunny pilot make this lobsolete.
TESLA V12 FSD is already getting a PhD, and the rest is still stuck in 1st grade, period.
Jeep's hands-free system...hmmm. With Jeep's solid reliability record, what could possibly go wrong? 🤣
Still won’t sell. It’s not the truck, it’s the dealership. The only way Dodge can recover from this is to sell direct to the customer.
Dodge sold over half a million Rams last year alone...
That’s never gonna happen pal

This is the dumbest thing ever. Like people are not distracted enough with eating. Makeup, breastfeeding……
It’s a dodge so I still won’t buy one. I don’t care if they make their vehicles 24k gold, will never buy a dodge.
What about that 6.7 Cummins, or my 2006 quad cab ram with the 5.9 Cummins pre-EGR. I bought these trucks for the Cummins motor mainly
@beamertime354 fanboy
Texas looks so depressing...:(
It’s full of Texans, so yes, depressing
Just buy a Tesla. The original autopilot.
