This was smashing but you didn't mention that from going to the families, he got them to agree to a ghost marriage for chen and her fiance which was what brought them peace.
I don’t play most of these games but I always watch your story breakdowns. You do an excellent job in summarizing and interpreting the game to us. Thanks for all of the amazing videos you make it’s super entertaining to listen to when I’m at work bored af.
While the story was a bit convoluted, not helped by the not so stellar translation, to me this is one rare horror game that instead of losing steam and falling of as we reaches the ending, it peaks the closer to the end we get. The last section was genuinely fun to play. That and the character models felt really animated and genuine too, same with the voice acting
Taiwanese voice actors are great. Old Hong Kong movies that were dubbed from cantonese into Mandarin were almost always done in Taiwan. But that was in the past. Nowadays its done in China of course. But I'm glad the Taiwanese voice actors are still this good.
Im legitimately addicted to this Lore and order series for a few reasons. I want to play the sequels to games I havent played in a long time and I usually have to play the first game again to remember the story, but since finding your channel, you give ample story telling experience that helps me remember.
16:02 Tien-Ming stuck his hand in there because his talisman dropped in. I don't know why that was not noticed or understood, but he definitely said "My talisman!" about 3-4 seconds before trying to reach into the toilet bowl.
One suggestion I have for future games, especially when names are confusing or difficult to pronounce-could you add a brief intro for each character where we can see their names on screen, and any alternate names (it goes by super quickly in the current video)? I had a super hard time following the names and characters on this one. Thanks!

Yes actually this is completely understandable since some of the Chinese is also mixed with Hokkien and some native slang. It would be hard for Chinese speakers not from Taiwan to understand.

Great work. I really hope you do one on the second Bridge curse game that just released. It's set in the rival school, so that horror story paper at the beginning was actually foreshadowing! This might also gives us a hint onto where the third game will take place as well!
hey gaming harry, really love all your videos :D the plot is really neatly summarised and presented clearly, i appreciate all your effort in your videos :'' that said, i would like to clarify naming conventions and address in chinese culture. for anglicised chinese names (these seem to be the manner in which hongkong / taiwanese people anglicise their names), the name is presented as [first name, usually two characters] and [last name, usually single character as double-character chinese surnames are rare]. in chinese culture, people usually refer to close friends by "a" + the second character of their first name, e.g. a chiao (hsin CHIAO chao, where hsin chiao is her first name and CHAO is her surname). classmates may refer to one another with their full given names (hsinchiao). however, strangers are usually referred to by their surnames, e.g. calling hsinchiao chao by "chao" as opposed to 'chiao', and calling decyuan ji by "ji" and not "cyuan". i think it might help chinese speakers to stick to one form of address , where the characters are referred to with their entire given name (hsinchiao), or JUST the second character of their first name, or their surname only. that said, i really really appreciate the effort you put into trying to pronounce the words correctly :D you might notice that chinese names might not be anglicised similarly due to regional differences, so i hope this might help for future videos :D the 'h' sound in hsin (for hsin chiao) is largely redundant, so hsin would just be pronounced sin/xin (spelled in hanyv pinyin, the phonetic spelling of standard chinese) , while chiao is tricky as the 'ch' sound serves to substitute q, so chiao would actually be qiao in hanyv -- quite similar to how 'c' in 'cyuan' serves to substitute 'q' in decyuan, so his name would look like dequan to standard chinese speakers. i understand that chinese naming conventions and formatting are usually implicit linguistic conventions (and really appreciate the effort for accuracy), so i understand the confusion and the inconsistency (calling hsinchiao 'chiao' but Ji by his surname and not his given name), but i hope this would help for future videos featuring chinese/east asian characters! either way, chinese is a really complex language to pronounce as its phonetics have a small overlap with english, so it might be good to put up a community poll of some kind to seek feedback for pronunciation just to double check :D . again, i really understand the constraints of time, and i continually appreciate your efforts in constantly delivering quality content.
either way, really don't want to come off nitpicky :'' just wanted to shed awareness on chinese conventions of address, because it's a tad bit jarring as a chinese speaker to hear an inconsistent address HAHA
Thanks for this! I also wanted to post suggesting to stick to surnames (easier to pronounce) or first names. I struggle with Chinese names and mixing up first names, last names, and using just one portion of the first name made it even harder for me to follow the characters. But definitely appreciate the effort on Harry’s part on pronunciation for sure!
I watched this after having dinner but left the last 8 mins of the video for tomorrow (the Origin of the Curse section). I’ve just now woken up from a nightmare of the ghost jump scaring me. So here I am 3am finishing the video 😂

Oh, is this game based on the Taiwanese movie of a similar name? I remember watching the movie on Netflix years ago but the ending is different. In the movie when the ghost catches up to HsinChiao the movie ends with her not completing the ritual. She’s trapped repeating the ritual over and over again with another set of students. She was cursed to do so forever until the exorcism ritual is eventually completed.
@@cartooncritique6625 Quite possibly. It’s been years since I watched it so the ending could have been happy like the game but it could have just ended like that since some Asian horror films ends on unhappy/unsatisfying scenes.
Yeah, all the characters are the same as well. Judging by Harry’s explanation, the movie is what actually happened whereas this is actually a limbo for the ghost girl’s victims. There was a mid-credits teaser of the dude wanting to break the cycle, I guess this fits that (though I wonder what role the reporter lady would have played, maybe tracking down the ghost girl and her boyfriend’s families?).
學姊 (Xue Zi) is a title for a female student who is more senior than you. It's basically the female version of "Senpai" from Japanese if you remember it from Yandere Simulator, a game about the obsession over a senior male student. In Asian culture, it's important to call them by the title rather than their name to show respect as they're more senior than you.
loves your videos. I don't play some of these games, particularly those with ghost story like this one. Just too scary for me. Your videos tell the story and explain it thoroughly. Amazing
I understand about "Origin of the Curse" but there is a question that why HsinHui Chen's room was into the basement? And why there were a clinic into the basement? I have not found this question. And another question is - exorcism was in deep under basement, but that deep under basement ghost realm was an abandoned school where has lockers, brench, board, WC etc. Like how it could be possible??

Love the video, it was incredibly nice of a breakdown, as someone who watched the movie myself. "...the vengeful ghost of a deceased woman will appear and hunt and kill the people participating in the ritual." See, I don't care whether or not you believe in supernatural stuff: Doing something that is explicitly said to kill you if it works as intended is _dumb._ At that point I will say no on principle, even if I'm completely sure nothing will happen. After all, why go looking for something if you don't even believe it exists?

(this is assuming that what we saw in the room was real and if it was real, her dorm room with the pictures all over the wall of the 5 wouldn't make sense unless they were harassing her before this happened and she already held a grudge.) anyway i really liked the game and i'm probably just overthinking it at 3am.. xd

HsinChao is referred to as “Xuejie” which is roughly translated to ‘school big sister’ which I believe is to refer her as a senior in school.
Yes this term is used exclusively for a female senior in school.

hey gaming harry, really love all your videos :D the plot is really neatly summarised and presented clearly, i appreciate all your effort in your videos :''
that said, i would like to clarify naming conventions and address in chinese culture.
for anglicised chinese names (these seem to be the manner in which hongkong / taiwanese people anglicise their names), the name is presented as [first name, usually two characters] and [last name, usually single character as double-character chinese surnames are rare].
in chinese culture, people usually refer to close friends by "a" + the second character of their first name, e.g. a chiao (hsin CHIAO chao, where hsin chiao is her first name and CHAO is her surname). classmates may refer to one another with their full given names (hsinchiao). however, strangers are usually referred to by their surnames, e.g. calling hsinchiao chao by "chao" as opposed to 'chiao', and calling decyuan ji by "ji" and not "cyuan". i think it might help chinese speakers to stick to one form of address , where the characters are referred to with their entire given name (hsinchiao), or JUST the second character of their first name, or their surname only.
that said, i really really appreciate the effort you put into trying to pronounce the words correctly :D you might notice that chinese names might not be anglicised similarly due to regional differences, so i hope this might help for future videos :D the 'h' sound in hsin (for hsin chiao) is largely redundant, so hsin would just be pronounced sin/xin (spelled in hanyv pinyin, the phonetic spelling of standard chinese) , while chiao is tricky as the 'ch' sound serves to substitute q, so chiao would actually be qiao in hanyv -- quite similar to how 'c' in 'cyuan' serves to substitute 'q' in decyuan, so his name would look like dequan to standard chinese speakers. i understand that chinese naming conventions and formatting are usually implicit linguistic conventions (and really appreciate the effort for accuracy), so i understand the confusion and the inconsistency (calling hsinchiao 'chiao' but Ji by his surname and not his given name), but i hope this would help for future videos featuring chinese/east asian characters!
either way, chinese is a really complex language to pronounce as its phonetics have a small overlap with english, so it might be good to put up a community poll of some kind to seek feedback for pronunciation just to double check :D . again, i really understand the constraints of time, and i continually appreciate your efforts in constantly delivering quality content.
either way, really don't want to come off nitpicky :'' just wanted to shed awareness on chinese conventions of address, because it's a tad bit jarring as a chinese speaker to hear an inconsistent address HAHA

You definitly should play Rule of Rose and make a story explained!!
"...the vengeful ghost of a deceased woman will appear and hunt and kill the people participating in the ritual."
See, I don't care whether or not you believe in supernatural stuff: Doing something that is explicitly said to kill you if it works as intended is _dumb._ At that point I will say no on principle, even if I'm completely sure nothing will happen. After all, why go looking for something if you don't even believe it exists?
I fond it both hilarious and sad that people have to make a spoiler disclaimer in a LORE video with "story explained" in the title 💀
Like it’s weird but the style, ya know basically graphics. Amazing. Absolutely. Characters? Real. Absolutely. Amazing. Oh what else?? THE WHOLE THING. Absolutely.. amazing.
:/ I’m back to say the poop scene is disgusting. Never in my life would I see shit in a game and a clogged toilet.
I love your videos, thank you for your hard work 💙
mispronunciations of some names aside, i really liked the explanation! the ghosts got me so bad lmao idk what it is about them...
Thanks for the Jumpscare warnings!
Indeed, it's complicated.
2:30 Thank you for not angering Asian ppl 🤣.
I am too scared to play these games so I just watch your videos
I just feel like if you are trying to set up an exorcism to fight a ghost, don't worry about clogging the toilet
this channels so underrated, its really awesome that your not a dick and just straight up throw jump scares without warning. your story telling is amazing.
Love your videos man
amazing concise video as always
Great explanation video! Forgot to sub when I found you a month ago but I'm here now!
I watched the movie on Netflix. Freaking terrifying!
i'm surprised you didn't mention chens body where you get the baby key.. her clothes were ripped and her skirt was laying on what looked like a futon.. like it looked very premeditated the group of 5 guys probably did something with her boyfriend then abducted her and took her to that room. regardless she suffered a horrible fate and those dudes deserved a worse fate than drowning. (this is assuming that what we saw in the room was real and if it was real, her dorm room with the pictures all over the wall of the 5 wouldn't make sense unless they were harassing her before this happened and she already held a grudge.) anyway i really liked the game and i'm probably just overthinking it at 3am.. xd
Game definitely has a more positive ending than the film
