I mean. He probably saw how comfortable and big the Newer mansion was. If i was the dad i would've kept the place if i didnt know that there's a tall white mosnter lady searching for me
He's about 17-18 y/o, almost starting college. To be fair, the dad did ask and Minato said he was ok being alone he said he wasn't a child anymore. If they knew that there was a monster roaming around, obv events would have been different. But alas, they hadn't known they were in a horror game 😂
What makes it even worse is if Ayano was pregnant before Kinu abandoned her, in that case she knowingly left her sister and unborn niece/nephew to die all so she could have Ayano's husband. Or imagine if Ayano realized what her sister did to her well she was still lost, either way it makes Kinu even worse than she already is.
I love that UFO ending, at first I thought “oh, a silent hill reference! That’s fun!” But once the camera focused on Ayano waving exuberantly with her own tinfoil hat I snorted so hard it hurt a bit. The UFO Endings in the Silent Hill games were always my favorites (especially in Homecoming when you consider that seems like an ending that a lot of people would get as their very first ending due to the choices in the game) and this one is no different. She’s so excited and I like to think she was the one reading Paranormal Monthly
it's very funny! But the story about the lady coming from a spaceship in the old parchment is actually a true story XDD I mean... true as a story coming from some villagers who said finding a lady in a metal ship coming from the sky/sea (depending from the sources) who didn't talk japanese before throwing her back into her ship back into the sea could be...
Sadly you didn't talk about the Princess Silwork fairy tale. It's a story Minato heard from his mother: a girl tries to kill her beautiful sister multiple times until she buries her alive in the mountain during winter. When people came to save her, the princess had disappeared and a huge cocoon and silkworms were inside the hole. I think the tale is true and the princess is the "she" Ayano is talking about in her diary. "She" is the one taking her place and stealing her memories. In the tale, the princess is wearing a red kimono, like Ayano in the butterfly ending. Maybe because of the red cocoon, Ayano is truly reborn as the Princess... Also, another mystery is who is the person who got Ayano pregnant? It could be before her disappearance (Kinu says Ayano would prefer to marry someone else, so maybe she had a lover) but Ayano was such a fragile and good girl that it seems strange. I think something happened in the mountains and maybe it's the fact that Ayano had a relationship with something non-human that made her a monster. Or maybe as in some old stories, she got abused by a man and killed. However, she didn't die thanks of the Princess curse, giving her the Princess possession sickness, and she got reborn, coming back home and becoming a monster.
I don't think she actually got "pregnant"...? Given how she had been "pregnant" for 6 years, maybe she was possessed n that was the demon or whatever's way of propagating the curse.
@lysfranc8782 There is no mystery around the pregnancy. No one got Ayano pregnant, she asexually reproduced like a silk worm laying eggs through parthenogenesis. But her body was too deformed and the “offspring” had to be cut out of her. That is why her offspring looks identical to her. It’s all her genetic material, no one else’s.
My theory is that she got pregnant normally by a normal person , willingly or non willingly..However she consumed some medicine or something on that hill accidentally or intentionally transforming her into a monster
Dude the fact you put in a jumpscare warning makes me appreciate everything you do even more! I’m too scared for horror games and watch your videos to still learn about them because they really do intrigue me, I just can’t handle being scared very well. Keep up the amazing work and thanks again!
If i saw a naked, shambling person in a deserted village that had severral missing persons posters, i wouldnt be waiting for the next bus, id be running.
Just wanna say, I found this channel in the last 3 months and I fucking love it. I fall asleep to these stories regularly and cannot express how grateful I am to listen. I don't like horror but I love stories. This is perfect. Happy new year to one and to all. Regards
Honestly love the good ending or the first ending, it nice to know minato actually had a canon event instead of creepy bloodthirsty monster and decides to live normally
I always end up watching each of Harry’s videos about 5 times on average, because I end up falling asleep in the middle (not because it’s boring, but because his voice is so calming and soothing! 😂) Can’t wait for even more videos!
I love stories that take place in the earlier years of Japan. This one was really good. I might play it myself so I can read all the notes and experience it. Thank you for the explanation of the story
Given what I know about Japanese mythology it is most likely that as she was left on a mountain by herself with no way to navigate she probably fell down some crevice or Hollow section of the mountain into something that could be a cave of silkworms and got infected by them changing her as these particular silkworms were Supernatural in nature and given on the fact that we humans are impure anything that becomes one with us or merges with us turns it into a demon of some kind
@@lilpretzel5629 To go into broader detail, we've considered creatures of the earth molded into the form that the gods would prefer us to take as our current mortal form, while our spirit form, depending on how we live, can manifest with the creatures that we become merged with. If we lived a pure, untainted life similar to that of the monks and chose to self-reflect, we tend to manifest as pure being no matter what creature is in bed itself in our mortal bodies and manifest our spiritual bodies. Furthermore, most of the creatures we take the form of greatly depend on what we mostly desire or what we find to be of great significance to ourselves. Say a man who loves collecting all the money he could ever have and still wants more. He gets possessed by some spirit, who turns him into a demon that gobbles up everything of value and stores it in his belly, including valuable livestock or the hand of a valuable maiden. Some stories talk about how people with strong resentment could attract negative creatures that would try to merge with the humans that they were drawn to, becoming a demon of whatever form would best fit their resentment, either as a spider, a snake, or any other creature that would best fit their hatred. There are rare cases where a good human, who is probably not a monk but still good, becomes possessed by or merged with a spiritual entity and gains the bones of that entity or their spirit, such as the ability to use magic or have unusual abilities like regrowing limbs stretching near immortality (not true immortality, just greater regeneration) and so on.
The video doesn't talk about the Silkworm Princess, a fairy tale in the game. It's very interesting and could be the key to understand what happened to Ayano in mountains. My theory is Ayano died in the mountains (maybe even got abused since she got pregnant) but got possessed by the Silkworm Princess and she's the one taking over her mind.
just found your channel and THANK YOU. THANK YOU for the jump scare warning. I have high anxiety and am very easily scared and jumpy, so I don't play scary games, but still interested in the story development and the gameplay in general. Thank you for helping me be able to consume this safely. 🥺
The "Ayano was an alien theory" is a reference to an old japanese legend about a UFO washing ashore containing a young woman. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utsuro-bune
Some elements of this game reminded me of Project Zero 2: Crimson Butterly (one of my all time favs). The Dam being built, designs of the keys and pinwheel puzzle, mentioning of butterflies. Great vid Harry! Japanese/Thai horror games are my favourite ones you make and I could watch these all day long! Keep it up!! Xx
Seeiously the way u make ur videos, and bring in almost the same experience as if you played the story by urself (w/o having to play the whole thing) is rlly helpful for scaredy cats like me. Love it.
Just wanted say that Gaming Harry is one of the channels that I found pretty entertaining when I first watched it 6 monts ago. Keep up with the many game lores in the Future. Happy New year 2024 🎉🎉
Personally kinda disappointed with the new game+ ending, it forcing player to play the games twice so i expect atleast it nodding to a sequel or reveal something more about murky infos like who "she" or how lord Kyubei got the red cocoon and how it exactly work
i love watching your videos. the way you explain the lore makes it so much more interesting since i know i would most definitely get tired of searching for all the supporting lore pieces. i was going to complain about the jump scare warning as being unnecessary, but i guess warnings are ok for a "explained" video, since your objective is not to frighten the viewers.
I'm new to the channel, and I really appreciate you putting in the jumpscare warnings. I'm horrible with jumpscares and I could brace myself for it with your warning note. Thank you!
I think the grandmother became a yokai called a yuki-onna more than once I've seen them be represented with moths or butterflies and associated with being lost in the mountains
I wish you and your family a great 2024, 'arry. Thanks for playing all these horror games on my behalf. God knows I ain't paying no game dev to scare me😅
'I think that Ayano fear from being abandoned called out to corrupted/sealed land goddess, the so called 'her' from Ayano's writing that possessed her.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Well in the mountains, she was obviously dispatched and her body possessed by a demon. Interesting game, but the plot was a bit convoluted.
You mean an Oni, if that true is a pretty aggressive possession, Oni are more passive in their approach, they need an elaborate ritual to possess a body, the part of the building a dam is about of the urban legends and haunting spots of Japan, the haunted shire and the flowed village, that the creator of the Ju On and The Grudge movies did two movies about, and there is also Noroi, Oni in Japan aren't like Demons in the west, they cant just be exorcises, they need monthly or yearly elaborate rituals to keep a bay, if they don't, there is a risk that the Oni escape and cause havok and death.
Another masterpiece from Nayuta Studios, it has the vibes of great PS2 horror era and to my taste even better. The game is horrific and grim in every aspect.
Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for all your support over the last 3.5 years, means the world! Here's to a GREAT 2024! ( and lots of cool videos)...
Happy new year🎉
as i wrote this comment its 10:54 pm, NEW YEAR to ALL
Also the Grandma at the end is a GILF
HNW Harry, wishing you and all readers the best for 2024 ❤
Another fantastic year Harry! Thank you for all your hard work!
Love your content! Keep it up!
Only in a horror game can a father send his child to a completely abandoned village to stay the night 😂
and solve crazy ass puzzles
I mean. He probably saw how comfortable and big the Newer mansion was.
If i was the dad i would've kept the place if i didnt know that there's a tall white mosnter lady searching for me
Well his child appears to be a grown ass man in this case so it's not that far fetched.
Sadly, more parents than you think would be perfectly okay with doing that to their children 😔
He's about 17-18 y/o, almost starting college. To be fair, the dad did ask and Minato said he was ok being alone he said he wasn't a child anymore. If they knew that there was a monster roaming around, obv events would have been different. But alas, they hadn't known they were in a horror game 😂
Jealousy literally ruined this whole family.

There are 4 endings...
Or maybe as in some old stories, she got abused by a man and killed. That would explain why the cure doesn’t truly work
I don't think she actually got "pregnant"...? Given how she had been "pregnant" for 6 years, maybe she was possessed n that was the demon or whatever's way of propagating the curse.
@lysfranc8782 There is no mystery around the pregnancy. No one got Ayano pregnant, she asexually reproduced like a silk worm laying eggs through parthenogenesis. That tale reminds me of Kuon for some reason.

This game looks gorgeous for a small project, it makes me so excited for future games across all platforms and companies.

His voice is just so soothing to listen too as I also fall asleep soundly to his videos
I found him around the same time as well. Man watching him while playing horror games before work is just amazing.
Honestly love the good ending or the first ending, it nice to know minato actually had a canon event instead of creepy bloodthirsty monster and decides to live normally
you're an angel for the jumpscare warning, saved my phones life
Thank you for the jumpscare warning, you beautiful man ! Happy new year, Harry !

Can’t wait for even more videos!
".. the village itself, called Itchy-nose" "Lord Kai-yubei"
Happy New Years, Harry
Ah shoot you beat me to it lol 😆
I love stories that take place in the earlier years of Japan. This one was really good. I might play it myself so I can read all the notes and experience it. Thank you for the explanation of the story
that jumpscare countdown got me running to the subscribe button and immediately subscribed! Looking forward for more from you. This is amazing 👏👏
Thank you for doing a story explained on this! The only addition is the ‘chicken ending’ which you get by kicking the chickens about in the yard
Could You please give more insight into the"humans are impure/anything that merges with us becomes a demon" i found thing take quit interesting

....wuh.. what does that have to do with japanese mythology? That sounds nothing like japanese mythology...
@fumomofumosarum5893 everything they just written fellows the same rules with Japanese mythology.

If only more games had this amount of content and care in it
Some elements of this game reminded me of Project Zero 2: Crimson Butterly (one of my all time favs). The Dam being built, designs of the keys and pinwheel puzzle, mentioning of butterflies. Great vid Harry! Japanese/Thai horror games are my favourite ones you make and I could watch these all day long! Keep it up!! Xx
holy crap thank you for the jumpscare warning. I freaking dropped everything and rushed over across the room to pause the video
Thanks for the jumpscare warning and happy new year!
I think the UFO ending is a shoutout to the Silent Hill games.
I love the touch of the Red Spider lilies at 4:50, as they represent death are are typically seen around grave yards.
just wanna tell you i appriciate the jumpscare warning
I love when the Lore explain the gameplay logic. like the lore actually explain the logic of the protagonist able to heal with only painkiller.
Happy new year harry - thanks for your quality content this year!
Love your videos legend! You allow me to actually grasp a bunch of things in Elden Ring and other from soft titles!
When I hear about silkworms and mulberry leaves, it always brings me back to Kuon, and this game is very reminiscent of it.
Happy new year Harry! Thanks for all your hard work producing these wonderful videos for us ❤❤❤
Seeiously the way u make ur videos, and bring in almost the same experience as if you played the story by urself (w/o having to play the whole thing) is rlly helpful for scaredy cats like me. Love it.
Just wanted say that Gaming Harry is one of the channels that I found pretty entertaining when I first watched it 6 monts ago. Keep up with the many game lores in the Future. Happy New year 2024 🎉🎉

Happy new year Harry the content over this past year has been incredible can't wait to see what you do next 🎉
Personally kinda disappointed with the new game+ ending, it forcing player to play the games twice so i expect atleast it nodding to a sequel or reveal something more about murky infos like who "she" or how lord Kyubei got the red cocoon and how it exactly work
Another great one, thanks for all the content Harry and Happy New Year
Happy new year mate. Hope you have an amazing year and thank you for the great content this year. Much love dude

Thank you for the jump scare warning. i was able to unplug my headphones in time
still cant get over it that a spoiler alert needed to be added to a video explaining what happens inside a game.
I'm new to the channel, and I really appreciate you putting in the jumpscare warnings. I'm horrible with jumpscares and I could brace myself for it with your warning note. Thank you!
Wow this lore is awesome. Thanks for the story.
Love hearing from you!
Happy new year Haary. Definitely watching your videos were the best. 🎉😊
I was so hoping you'd do this one! Thank you a lot, it was as great as always :)

'I think that Ayano fear from being abandoned called out to corrupted/sealed land goddess, the so called 'her' from Ayano's writing that possessed her.
thank you for the jumpscare warning ❤ happy new year
Ayano was a mortal human and became a vengeful ghost in monster form who reborn from hatred, jealousy, malice and umbrage towards her sister 20:25
Nice, would be great if you did Siren blood curse 👌🏼
This game reminds of Fatal Frame but uses Camera Obscura to defend themselves from the entities, the ghost who lurks in the castle.
Man this game had a great stories love it so much 🔥
Thank u for the jumpscare warning, still shat myself
i love you for the jumpscare warning. saw the sign in the nick of time too. TuT
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Im interested in the story but I hate horror jumpscares
great summary for a game im too wuss to play! smashed that sub button!
As someone who's afraid of jumpscares . . . but still wanna see it, appreciate the countdown warning :D
Thanks for the jump scare warnings

Another masterpiece from Nayuta Studios, it has the vibes of great PS2 horror era and to my taste even better. The game is horrific and grim in every aspect.
I dont know why but your voice is soothing
Of all your content these are my favorite

Happy new year!! 🎉🎉
Also happy birthday to myself & all the other NY babies 👶 🎉
Happy birthday !
So happy you covered this game.
Happy new year! 🎊
Ayeee thanks soo much for the jumpscare warning 😂😂😂
This feels like a spin-off of Kuon. Same legend. Also used in Fatal Frame 2 I think.
It's an older game but ever though of explaining Kuon?
Let's gooo! 🎉
Tinfoil hat and waving... what a fun ending.
Happy new year🎉🎉🎉 :D
Great way to end the year: with a good horror game video
STILL JUMPED AT THE JUMP SCARE THAT YOU WARNED WOULD SCARE ME WITH A JUMP SCARE AHHHHH

Happy new year harry 🎉
Happy new Year🙂
Her transformation reminds me of some Junji Ito works.
Grandma Ayano is good looking...before the cocoon consumption
Fatal Frame references throughout. NEVER sell the original games. I did, because I had to. They then went up to about 100 each.
Thanks for the jump scare warning dude. I hate Jump scares.
Thank you for thiss😄😄
"itchy nose" *HAD* to have been purposeful lmaoo
