Steals really change the momentum of the game. It really ruins someone's spirit when they get the ball stripped from them.
Thanks guys for another video. There's less than 3 months left before my season and I'm pushing the tempo on my training.

About 2 steals per game but can sometimes unlock my inner Jordan and put up 7+ steals per game. My favourite being when I stole the ball and during the same play got the assist dat one is the game. The other team were up by one and wasting time so dat steal was pretty clutch

There's another great move that a post player can exploit to create steals vs penetrating guards.
It works if you're protecting the rim on 2-on-1 or 3-on-2 type breaks or if you're in the paint protecting the rim in a 2-3 zone and an opposing guard splits your guards and penetrates into the lane.
You step up as though you're going to block their layup attempt thereby faking them into dropping the ball off to a cutter or offensive player sliding in behind you.
The key is feeling which side behind you the offensive player's teammate is coming from (for example he's coming from your right) and using your left hand in your fake attempt to "challenge" the shooter while keeping your right hand down and to your side ready to intercept the pass.
Its a quick lunge toward the driving guard and then a slide step back and to your right, reaching with your off hand out into the passing lane to that cutter to intercept or deflect the pass from the penetrating guard.
In essence you're anticipating that the penetrating guard is wanting to draw you to defend him so he can drop it off to a teammate who is moving into the space you just vacated and you dupe him into doing just that but you are able to slide over and make the steal.
    It works all the time

One that works for me is when the player I am guarding beats me off the dribble but is lazy with his shot and I block him from behind as hes raising the ball to shoot or make a layup...sometimes if I can read how the player goes up for his shot I'll let him beat me on purpose just to do that...
