Drink a beer every time he says "billet". So many people think "billet" is a type of aluminum. It is a component manufactured from a single block of METAL!!!! No welding!!! Also, it was a domestic living quarters for a soldier. LOL
Sir, don't listen to any of the ridiculous negative coments, they mean nothing. You are obviously a very talented individual in design and execution. Your CNC machining talent is also next level. It always costs more to make things smaller in small quantities. That Conley motor was a fragile piece of junk next to what you designed and built. Always buy the best, you'll never be disappointed ! I am a future customer. Just a suggestion, you should use Evans waterless coolant. Conventional antifreeze will eat away at the aluminum. I always use Evans in my $50K plus hot rod motors, it is a far superior product, you should be using it also. Sincerely FH
That's not how the math works. 1/4 scale means 1" bore and 1" stroke, or 0.79 cu in/cyl, or 6.32 cu in total -- hence the name of the motor. At 1.0 HP/cu in, one should expect about 6 HP from this motor. Speaking of which, I would like to know what this thing actually turns on the dyno.
Scale is confusing to me. This is 1/4 scale, but is this really one fourth the size of a full size V8? Seems *WAY* smaller than that, like more like 1/16 scale or even smaller. Anyway, very cool engine!
Well if you think about a full scale engine having a 4" cylinder bore my engines bore is 1", full scale blocks are about 24" long my engines block is roughly 6" long, full scale header primary tubes are 2" in dia, mine are 1/2" in dia., ect. Every part may not be exactly 1/4 scale but very close.
Hey mate motor looks amazing, you need to do some more videos and advertising for it so people can understand the price of 12k US. Keen to see the supercharger when it’s finished

@@KPLPerformance Oh yeah I shoulda known. That's a nice touch, having the size in cubic inches like a real motor. Thanks for getting back to me you'd be surprised how much of a rarity that is!
No shit!!! It's always infuriating when they charge a premium for what AIN'T there. I understand R'nD, machining, supply & demand & all that bullshit, but $12k?... Yeah... hell no.
This would be the one I would buy well the supercharged model would be but at a cost of more than a real engine it's just not justified. Is beautiful as this artwork is and as much as I'd love to have it it just doesn't make sense there are other quarter scale v8s on the market now that are pretty dang good also for a fraction of the cost I might even pay twice as much for this one which would put it at the $4,000 price range but definitely not 12,000 plus unfortunately. if that price ever changes I hope somebody will let me know.
What is the displacement, hp, torque, and cost of this particular setup? I'm curious as to the intended use of this engine as well. Are replacement parts available? Are all the multiple components interchangeable (pistons, rods, valves, springs, etc.)? Are there high performance upgrades available (higher compression pistons, bigger camshafts, bigger carbs, etc.)? Overall, a very cool setup. Good luck in the future with your endeavors. 👍🇺🇸
As for displacement @rockets4kids answered you perfectly, it is 6.32 cu in. or about 103cc. The supercharger will be available soon, but at this time I am not making any other upgraded parts. For your interchangeable question, yes all the parts are identical when they are made but once the valves have been lapped in there respective seat you wouldn't want to switch them around same for the pistons with the rings being run in ect. For use a 1/4 scale RC car or boat or just on the display/run stand to show people.
12 grand American are you joking. Does it come with spare parts and a mini mechanic in the box. For that price it better come with 10 more perks One being gold plated
Ok. Let's do this: $12.4K for the engine; $1,875 for the run stand; $3,750 for the transmission (which isn't available until June 2024); and $3,525 for the supercharger (available Jan. 2024).
@@KPLPerformance It wouldn't be too challenging to build one. A load transducer or a fish scale on a one-foot lever secured to a disc brake caliper, for example. Offset the R&D cost by dyno-ing small engines for people.

$18,100 for engine, transmission and stand?!? WTF are you supposed to do with it? Is there even an application for this engine?
Could it be used with a vertical shaft to power a lawn mower?
The engine needs to stay horizontal for proper oil return to the pan, you would need some sort of 90 deg gearbox to make a vertical shaft work.
