I love it. Yes you can buy a full size V8 cheaper, BUT the work that has gone into this is phenomenal, and this isn't a mass produced thing, it's a talented guy in his workshop, spending a lot of time making them individually. You pay for what you get, and this is some stunning engineering.
This workshop is a little piece of heaven on earth. Master mechanic at his trade. Great to see and an inspiration to would be engineers. Congratulations to you and thanks for your masterclass.
I find Mr. Conley's enthusiasm so encouraging. Very inspirational. If I could afford it, I'd have one as soon as it could be shipped. Got to win the Loterry.
Hey brother, I am not slamming these things by any stretch. They are marvels of micro-engineering. I am merely pointing out that to obtain this kind of attention to detail is not cheap or easy. I do believe that making a full size crankshaft is easier that making one that fits into the palm of your hand. And all the little laser cut gaskets and seals are a sight to behold. No qualms about any of it from my end friend!
I wish I was able & had the skill & talent to do something this cool. This is Awesome! I've watched this video several times & it NEVER gets dull or old. Thumbs up man & thank you for showing your great workmanship. Question, Were do you get the tiny spark plugs? Again, Thanks
Who in their right mind could give this video & concept a thumbs down? There's obviously 178 weirdo's out there. This has GOT to be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
If I could afford one, I would like it to have a heavier flywheel. Everything else is to scale but it just revs up and down too quick. I have noticed that in every video of these running, they always seem to stall when returning to idle. I bet more flywheel effect would smooth the throttle transitions.
I love it. I can't imagine the engineering that went into this. The only change I would suggest (like I know anything) is to make your valve rockers rollers, it would take the whole lash problem out of the equation and bring the wear down immensely. Unless this is trying to be an exact replica, I may have missed that part. Would you consider doing a 4 cylinder turbo? I would love to see a little turbo spinning 150K RPMs, with a cute cherry red glow.
i bolieve you have the title wrong, it looks like an 1/8 scale from here, considering a normal v8 engine size. but i stll love the video...its was very educational. thank you
oh hell yes. I want one SOOO bad... Sittin right dead center in the middle of my living rooom... Or man cave. Whatever.. lol. Awesome. Really wish this guy was my neighbor, and I had access to his shop.. Hell yes.
Very very impressed with both the product and that awesome dudes passion and honest explanations. Thank you for sharing and I would just love to buy ,assemble and tune one of those mini masterpieces :)
that was simply amazing , love the shop, nice set up , 2 questions, 1 for the guy in the red shirt , is this guy hard to work for? and 2 can I have a job?
a lot of the things he is showing is basic engine/vehicle maintenance. considering he's producing engines using full size production techniques on a reduced scale, anything that you know about servicing an engine or what could be taught a local college can be used.
To the designer who I assume is the gentleman in the video. What is your background when it comes to education or is this attributed to a natural gift.
This is incredible. You are now one of my hero's because you did what I wish I would have done. Question. Does the supercharge actually add any power and if so, can you tell me how much pressure it generates? The Supercharger that is? Or is it just for show? Thank You for doing what I never had the time or patience to do.
When i watched this video my eyes teared up because for someone like me that loves cars this is amazing and for the guy that threw the numbers out there the crate engine you speak of for 2200 will not handle the 1700 dollar supercharger you speak of "wich ive not seen " they are at least 4000 all the pieces you spoke of either will not work together or were way under estimated trust me a motor that can handle a supercharger reliably is atleast 5000 "atleast" and another 4000 for the blower=9000
I wonder if anybody has tried to miniaturize an engine with a few more modern parts on it for ignition and fuel? Distributorless ignition, fuel injection, O2 feedback circuit, and control computer with basic OBD type features. (Some of that might be hard to do like fuel metering and custom solenoids, but the computer managing those things could an OTS microcontroller prototype board such as an Arduino.)
Clicked on the website, saw the prices, almost fell out of my chair!!! Only the "Rich" need to look at their website. The prices are absolutely outrageous!! The middle class would be hard pressed to afford a toy/model such as this, and that is truly a shame, because I would love to have one!!.... As I commented earlier, it is beautiful, and truly a work of art, and with that being said, I realize the price should reflect the time involved, tools, materials, etc, but from the looks of the operation, there appears to be the ability to "Mass produce" these engines, as there are many "lying" around, and any consumer should know, that to be able to "mass produce" allows one to cut the cost dramatically, compared to individual cost, so how can anyone justify spending 9 thousand dollars on a model engine, when the price of a new engine for your automobile cost far less??
I love it. Yes you can buy a full size V8 cheaper, BUT the work that has gone into this is phenomenal, and this isn't a mass produced thing, it's a talented guy in his workshop, spending a lot of time making them individually. You pay for what you get, and this is some stunning engineering.
THIS IS the kind of person who can land a piece of equipment on a comet 4 million miles from us!!!! HE IS a GENIUS !!!!!!
This workshop is a little piece of heaven on earth. Master mechanic at his trade. Great to see and an inspiration to would be engineers. Congratulations to you and thanks for your masterclass.
13:50 to see the engine running
I find Mr. Conley's enthusiasm so encouraging. Very inspirational. If I could afford it, I'd have one as soon as it could be shipped.
Got to win the Loterry.
A fine example of a man who loves what he does and is proud of his work.. 👍
I appreciate the thoughtful closeups from the person shooting the video. Cheers!
now THIS is why God made technology! Thanks for the video, first time I have seen these engines and may have just found a new hobby...
This guy loves his job, great to see
This is without a doubt the coolest thing I have ever seen. I want one of these so bad.
Very impressed with the quality of build of this little masterpiece engine and enthusiasm shown and very informative video, well done.
This guy took shop class really seriously. You have my respect and a BIG thumbs up from me.
Perfect for a CRX V8 swap project!
I was going to say fantasic... but this really is incredible !!!!!
I wish I was able & had the skill & talent to do something this cool. This is Awesome! I've watched this video several times & it NEVER gets dull or old. Thumbs up man & thank you for showing your great workmanship. Question, Were do you get the tiny spark plugs? Again, Thanks
I can see one of these in a go kart, that has a fiberglass body. A kid would go nuts!
Wow, just..'ken wow, garry conley is a true obsessive genius. This is the video I've been waiting for, for a long time now. I REALLY want one now...
Amazing amount of talent and craftsmanship. I see there is one "dislike". What does the "dislike" person have as his claim to fame?
Outstanding. I thought I was a perfectionist...obviously not...the man is in a league of his own. Thanks for sharing!
This would make a beast lawnmower
This is incredible. And he looks like Walter White from the show Breaking Bad.
yes and acts just like him.........mmmmmmm
Can you tell (or do a vid) about the transmission that is attached to this amazing engine, please?
Exceptional work, small or large, you give credit where it's due...Bravo
if you want to study for mechanic, playing with this motor is a great idea!
Beautiful model V8 and an excellent overview. I enjoyed it immensely.
awesome work and craftsmanship !!!!! but who the hell is buying this things at $6-8k
Who in their right mind could give this video & concept a thumbs down? There's obviously 178 weirdo's out there. This has GOT to be the coolest thing I've ever seen.
I was thinking the Same thing.
wow that little motor is absolutely neat
Thank you so much for this video.
You guys really went Inside the Stinger 609!
If I could afford one, I would like it to have a heavier flywheel. Everything else is to scale but it just revs up and down too quick. I have noticed that in every video of these running, they always seem to stall when returning to idle. I bet more flywheel effect would smooth the throttle transitions.
Very cool.......attention to detail is everything.......Nice.
That's a fantastic way to spend your time. Well done mate...
Wow. Dedication right there.
Do your engines run on METHanol? walter.
LOVE this kind of stuff... wish I could do similar stuff
$8,200 for that engine WOW
True engineering. I'm in awe of such craftsmanship.
A perfectionist, i admire your skills and patient.
I am an CNC metal worker myself..
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing!
Now I want to see this in a sick RC :)
More like a go cart.
That'd be a badass boat motor for a 1/4 to 1/6 scale boat! All you'd hear on the water is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET as it blew by
I want this to be my alarm clock and for it to go off at 6:09 am every morning. PS the snooze button can be a shot of nitrous! lol.....
My speedboat 350 Chev V8 cost me 4 grand. I suppose this V8 costs more due to size. But, I like it. What an effort to make one.
wow this motor with supercharger and stand is
13,000 dollars
Looks smaller than 1/4 scale. Ultra cool
i bolieve you have the title wrong, it looks like an 1/8 scale from here, considering a normal v8 engine size. but i stll love the video...its was very educational. thank you
its cheaper to buy and run the full size one XD
Heh heh yup that's insane
Incredible sound from that engine! You gotta put that in a Losi 5iveT!!
So, what do you do with these? do they go in RC cars/planes/boats?
those little engines and transmissions r so cool@@@@
Just found this video - pretty awesome! now if only I could find an extra $8300 kicking around...
This man is a GENIUS!!!
a very clever man, they are works of art
oh hell yes. I want one SOOO bad... Sittin right dead center in the middle of my living rooom... Or man cave. Whatever.. lol. Awesome. Really wish this guy was my neighbor, and I had access to his shop.. Hell yes.
id have the fastest shifter kart on the block if had one of these
Very very impressed with both the product and that awesome dudes passion and honest explanations. Thank you for sharing and I would just love to buy ,assemble and tune one of those mini masterpieces :)
put one of those mini v8's in a mini bike, you'll b a millionare.
that was simply amazing , love the shop, nice set up , 2 questions, 1 for the guy in the red shirt , is this guy hard to work for? and 2 can I have a job?
Amazing work wish I could afford to own one you are on my lotto list....
Man this engine r sick!! They look awesome.
To bad i can bearly afford a nitro engine :(
This guy is a genius.
a lot of the things he is showing is basic engine/vehicle maintenance. considering he's producing engines using full size production techniques on a reduced scale, anything that you know about servicing an engine or what could be taught a local college can be used.
That motor would fit nicely in a small go-cart.
$8295 WITHOUT the supercharger...thats and extra $1200..WOW! The stand to mount the motor to, if you dont build your own is a little over $1000..wth?
Iv seen little v8 but this is a little bigger and then put a little supper charger on it ! Sweet !
That's what it's for, 1/4 scale stuff. Cars, Trucks, Boats, Dragsters, etc.
Same price as a real v8.... what is the point???
I think it would be hilarious to drop one of those into one of those power wheels thingies
1/4 Scale is correct, a full size V8 block is 20 to 22 inches long, the Stinger 609 block is 5.75 inches. FYI
So well explained!
Is it supercharged?
To the designer who I assume is the gentleman in the video. What is your background when it comes to education or is this attributed to a natural gift.
Oh yeah. Look through old rc car mags. They are a work of art when combined with a quick change rear end.
This is incredible. You are now one of my hero's because you did what I wish I would have done. Question. Does the supercharge actually add any power and if so, can you tell me how much pressure it generates? The Supercharger that is? Or is it just for show? very cool video man. thanks for sharing

centrifugal clutch off the flywheel to engage the transmission, very cool.
Very nice ...That would be a great gocart engine
"Jessie, we need to make mini v8's Jessie. We have to sell more mini v8's Jessie."
as a certified n.i.m.s. machinest very nice work !
what type of oil do you use?
Very cool, would love to know the price of one of these engines, just for curiosity.
peace.
Nice Work and shop.
Do you sell transmissions for these engines?
where can i buy one of these v8 model engines ? please help out !!
The sad part is... the new generation of video game players and computer geeks will not carry on this beautiful engineering.
damn your talented totally awesome job man. im very impressed it isnt easy to do all that machining
Fantastic. Thanks for the vid.
I want 2 of those on top of my head, runing my helipod. damn, 12hpx2 if 1 stop the other still make me land safe
This should be put in a go kart
Remarkable! Beautiful work, very nice.
Hey Mr. Conley, is there any chance to future building a traditonal Pontiac V-8 or a Olds style??
i think it would be awesome if they put a manual transmission with a clutch and you could sit there and shift gears and pop the clutch
Now you just need to find a seven inch tall human who needs a new motor and transmission for his little car.
WHERE I CAN GET ONE OF THESE PLEAZE.?????????
AWESOME ENGINE SOUND!!!
No, each 609 is shipped ready to run after Gary gets them running.
