You know you've accomplished something when one of the guitarists from Televion is in your band.
Lloyd is just... righteous. Absolutely on fire. One of my favorite guitar players, underappreciated but just an amazing talent.
He's a monster! And so distinctive. I don't think there's been a band with a finer pair of guitarists than Television.

All the Richard Lloyd fans coming in here with lack of respect for Sweet is mind blowing. Altered Beast is a jackhammer of greatness and I love Television too.
When I threw these up years ago I added Richards’s name as a courtesy for any fans of his - I share your respect. I’ve never monetized my channel so there’s no other motivation. Just glad no one has accused me of baiting them here, which wasn’t even a thing when I posted. I missed the tours with Richard so thought these were a real treat to get via trading vhs. F anyone who’s here and doesn’t like their collaboration long ago.

I'm reconnecting with Richard Lloyd's recordings after Tom Verlaine's passing, was always a big fan of Lloyd's playing - but listening to this again and realizing this is really next level. he takes a pretty decent song and turns it into a something insane. Is he hogging the spotlight, yeah you bet - but when you can play like that, you should just go for it.

Lloyd is incredible in this. His playing has fallen off as of late-I believe he's overmedicated. This is a joy to watch.
I see no evil, but I can't hide from the not-at-all-ugly truth that Lloyd can take a good song into the Strat-o-sphere with those gnarly licks.

I never liked this song, but Lloyd is great. He should have played on hundreds more songs.

That's Tony Marsico, Matthew's touring bassist for most of the 90's. Complemented Matthew well I thought. Funny, after re-watching some old Bob Dylan video from the mid 80's Infidels tour, I noticed the bass player had Tony's distinctive move/bounce but with shorter hair. Damned if it wasn't him, part of Dylan's new band of fairly unknowns.

Richard is hogging the stage but deserves to be. His playing is great. This song would be a snooze without it.
