Very proud of our South Carolina Band from the Citadel. No matter what anyone thinks you are there and I am so proud. My son graduated from the Citadel. Congratulations.💙
Apparently when the Germans saw the piper who landed on D day they refused to shoot him, even though he was a sitting duck , because they respected his bravery.
I went last Wednesday & loved every second even tho we had rain & high winds I’d not miss it for anything well done to you all & here’s to next year special year as well ❤
I went to Scotland in June, I am of the MacKay clan, and was sad to miss this. It was not on a our scheduled trip package! Lucky to have attended more than one ! first time we had to catch a train and tried to sneak out early. WE were stopped by a soldier who commanded us that we would not move while they played God save the Queen
When the massed pipes and drums started up the national anthem ( Scotland the Brave) it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up and your heart beat a wee bit faster .
I have always wanted to go to the military tattoo but as I'm unable to travel due to thrombosis risk probably won't there. Had a chance to learn the pipes years ago workmate offered a Chanta and some coaching wish I'd taken it up. Always stirs me. Never miss the NZ PIPE BAND Champs when they are held in the South Island. How can a government like the Tories organise such an event. Yet spread soo much hatred. Because that must have taken over a year to plan. And yet all that pronoun stuff, & shared toilets, the 20 mph speed limit, and child friendly zones where kids can play for an hour or two. Still came from them, as they tore this nation apart. Because I have never seen us as Scotland, Wales, Ireland, & England. I have always seen us as the United Kingdom, and when people ask me where I am from, that is what I say. I heard that they thought he was a mad idiot, likely or not?
Such perfect formation marching and I love the bagpipes 🎉
They didn’t respect his bravery. They were interviewed after the war and said he was obviously raving mad, so why bother. His name was Bill Mullin
My father landed on D day with the piper. He said he was a very brave man.
Read somewhere that the German soldiers called the Scots in kilts - ‘the terrible ladies’!
I went last Wednesday & loved every second even tho we had rain & high winds I’d not miss it for anything well done to you all & here’s to next year special year as well ❤

The Scots marched into battle in WWII with pipes; the German Panzer soldiers called them ''the ladies from Hades'' and were terrified of them.
There is something so magical about bagpipes ❤❤❤
