Don’t mix with your moisturizer. It won’t affect efficacy but mixing isn’t perfect and inevitably leads to collection of retinoids on skin and hot spots of irritation!
Dotting few across cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin, then spread. Follow with your moisturizer or do a moisturizer-retinoid sandwich.

Should we use tretin after moisturizer or before moisturizer for the night?
Most people do it after the moisturizer to avoid drying side effects. You can even sandwich moisturizers between the tretinoin. If your skin is not sensitive, it doesn’t matter when you put on that moisturizer as they’re both creams.
IANAD, but here's my nightly regimen: I apply it directly to freshly cleansed skin at bedtime, before moisturizer, then "slug" it all in with a thin layer of Vaseline patted (not rubbed) over my whole face. Admittedly, I seem to have extremely INsensitive skin on my face, though, so I don't get irritated easily.
But for with sensitive skin, my dermatologist recommends trying several things: waiting about 20 min after cleansing to apply it, applying it after moisturizer, mixing it with moisturizer, or just only applying it a few times a week until your skin gets used to it.
Of course, talking to a dermatology provider would be the best route, as all I can do is pass on what I was told.

yep
I know tretinion works way faster than retinols, but as for the long term results is it basically the same?
Yes for 0.01 and 0.025% no for 0.05 and 0.1%. (You can find studies online) Also note that 0.01 and 0.025 still allow you to get the same result than using multiple layers/creams. So instead of using say 5 creams, 1 (tretinoin) will give you the same result. However, for anything stronger (0.05 and 0.1) you will get better results than retinols.
Should u just leave it there or do u need to wash ur face and rinse after say 5 minutes?
it stays. don’t forget to apply sunscreen if you’re using it in the day though
@@amisria There was a dermatologist on here they said Tret should only be used at night because if you use it during the day, it won’t work well.
@@iammar1159 directions change from derm to derm. my derm suggested using it specifically at night but i know derms who suggest both day and night but to just apply sunscreen during the day so its effect doesn’t weaken drastically

@@denizschecter in most cases, you want to apply moisturizer about 10 minutes after you’ve applied tret. if your skin is really dry, then you can do a double layer and apply moisturizer before and after tret. just depends on how your skin reacts to the medication
Gel tretinoin is hard to spread. Any tips. Cream doesn't suit my skin.

@@XoXoG Vaseline is a thick occlusive and will make it hard for tret to penetrate though. Instead use a lightweight lotion (like cerave daily facial moisturizer) to give your skin some slip and allow the tret to still work. You only need a light layer
Mix it into your moisturizer in your hand and then apply.

That exactly how I apply it and I'm just about to jump up to 0.1% as I have just the slightest texture that didn't clear up on 0.05%. I am scared to start it but excited to see the results. I can tolerate 0.05% without irritation so hopefully it doesn't take long to acclimate to 0.1%
I'm in my second week using 0.1 one and i had 0 irritation just peeling, some skin types can tolerate better than other types i guess.

@@nashidalihamraaz4914 i have horrible skin, all of my face is with acne scars, other than that it made my skin better, i have no acne and my skin is fairly smoother, the cream will not make your acne scars go away but definetly will help with smoothening your skin

it’s a prescription so you have to have a dermatologist prescribe it to you and then from there you can pick it up at a pharmacy

In the USA, you can go to a dermatologist, or you can use a subscription service like curology or agency. Not sure how it works in other countries.
I wouldn't ever recommend using it without input from a dermatology provider, as it can *severely* irritate and dry your skin! The first retinoid I was prescribed was too strong, and my skin literally split wide open from my lips down to my chin! I had a scar for years!

No Tretinoin can lead to skin irritation around your mouth and especially the eyes. I would recommend using a moisturizer or Vaseline around your mouth area and your eyes (where your skin is most sensitive) and then following with your tretinoin.

after one week of using tretinoin by dermatologist recommendation my skin gets more acne( painfull) the acne marks getting more visible and darker than 😥
So please guys dont use it without doctor recommendantion and also without knowing its side effects

No. It’s just the different number of % , if a doctor prescribed it to you then it’s probably fits right for your skin type but if not then idk what to tell you lmao
I thought that you’re not suppose to use it on your nose?
Most advise not to apply on the corners of the mouth, nose and eyes. Some don't recommended putting it on neck because the potential of increasing crepiness because of the thinness of the neck. So any part of the face where its thinner is better to avoid directly applying plus tret migrates abit so theres a chance the thinner parts get the benefits without the extreme irritation if you were to directly apply it there.
