Razor E300 Review by an Adult

- I take this Razor E300 electric scooter for a test ride and review. Pretty capable scooter for its price. I am happy I bought this scooter which will make local trips a lot easier than walking.
Note: In Australia if you are caught riding one of these on the street (depending on the state you live in) you may get into trouble. NSW rules don't even let you ride a Segway, hoverboard, electric skate board or electric scooters on public roads/areas.
Very nice review, covered lots of questions I had on motorized razors. Quite amazing that it actually moves on dirt roads too! Thanks a lot!!
Thanks lass.
great review.. really comprehensive .. wouldnt have minded hearing how the scooter SOUNDS when its underway but definitely a thumbs up from me :)
this is a fantastic review, thanks for posting, very helpful
Just so you know guys, this scooter is a lot bigger than it looks in the video. It seriously is huge
Great review. I never knew about the adapter! Thank you!
Just ordered this baby. Can't wait to ride it :)
Surprised it made over some of that terrain with adult in it. Impressive. Not bad for a cheap scooter. Good review mate.
Great review! The best so far.
You know it!
Watched it again, still EXCELLENT!
Love it 👍🏽😁
Great review, what kind of G Shock you wearing? :)
Thank you for rhe nice review. Mention everything I wanyed to know. Perfect.
That is great to hear

Thanks buddy. They are great fun scooters!

DID HE JUST DRIFT ON AN ELECTRIC SCOOTER
Logan Hawkins T.V. There is a back brake
I can do that on my e300! Soooo fun!!!
@@eagerbordercollie3200 There is no back brake
@@eclogites yes he said on the review there's a rear brake.
@@vister5738 Sorry, that was 5 months ago, I can now confirm there is a back brake on it and yes I do drifts all the time
I JUST BOUGHT THE E100 AND ALSO BOUGHT A LIGHT KIT. THE REAR LIGHT IS ATTACHED TO A ROUND FRAME BUT ON THESE SCOOTERS I HAD NO IDEA WHERE TO ATTACH IT. THANKS TO YOU NOW I DO, ON THE LOWER PART OF THE HANDLEBAR FRAME.
FANTASTIC
I ride my grey one all the time I have road that through one inch pools of water and hydroplaned myself but it still works fine
They're so much fun to ride and I'm sure that you agree
You were going so fast - I was praying you wouldn't get hurt. With the slammin music and all - it was like watching XGames.
Extreme sports right there hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂
Hi! What's the difference between this and the razor 300 HD? Ty
I like the solid cconstruction and good looks yet i wish it was more powerful for hills and top speed
Hopefully when I get around to modify the voltage it will be
How does the scooter do going uphill? I weight around 90 kg and looking to use to go 5 km to somewhere and another 5 km back. Do you think this scooter is good for that?
i bought it second hand with old batteries and it went alright, im 80kg. i bought 2 other e200 scooters for cheap second hand and one of them was barely used and flew up the hill faster than the e300! so having not used it with new batteries i would say it will be ok. the old batteries in my e300 get me about 6 km before they go flat. but the batteries are on their way out. if you have the money invest in a lithium scooter, go with one that is at least 36v. nothing wrong with my scooter, but its heavy and if you are needing it to go 10km with half of it up hills, i would worry about it running out of juice. or, you could get a e300 and modify it with lithium batteries (thats what i want to do with mine, by installing some 36v hoverboard batteries in it and an upgraded controller)
thankyou for the review this was helpful appreciate it
Sweet as
Excellent review. However, I would get rid of the BGM on the test drive. It’s important for me to hear the scooter operating for a few reasons.
Agree with you. Music is entirely too much on any DIY or demo video.
I watched this for one reason. To see how loud this scooter is while riding. This video was useless because of the BGM
@@electricslide8469 I have one, it is not very loud, but not very quiet. Mine is not deafening to say lmao 😂
Reviewers are determined to never let you hear the product they're reviewing. I like to hear the motor so I can get an idea of the acceleration. This tells me whether it will climb a five or a ten degree incline. This does make a real difference to those of us with a workplace eleven km away. It's a deciding factor in whether the product will be useful or not.

Thanks for a very good review
Thanks for watching buddy
Thanks.
Great info
What about the seated version????
🖐️ Thank you for this review, I'm thinking of getting a gio eve super max which is quite similar. But my biggest question is whether you can push your way back when it runs out?
Yeah that's no problem (bit tiring but can be done easily on flat ground) and you can walk and push it up hills.
Very detailed to introduce.
Yes, as others have said, great review. Much better than other video and written reviews. I was wondering if this had a variable throttle and you did answer this question, THANKS!
Doesn't have one, but I have installed one on it now. Have made a video on it that shows all the steps and explains it all in detail.
Are the tires big enough to roll this up/down a flight of steps? I live upstairs and 53 lbs is almost 1/2 my body weight.
Down easy by lifting the front wheel and walking it down step by step. Can be heavy you the stairs
Up
Nice review 👍 thanks
Cheers Daymon
The speed of this on this review does it no justice at all
Watch it in 2x speed?
Hello, I would like to know where you got the spotlight for this scooter?
Just any bike handle light would work
Best review thanks
I’m planning to buy this scooter to work in the highway is it safe?? Which by scooter to work is 30mins ride
Keep these things in mind when modding. 1) don’t over volt the stock setup or you’ll burn the controller because they specially made if for 24V, 36V max but for long periods or just full throttle all the time will burn it out. 2) the 300W motor has to work harder on higher voltage resulting in more heat it can be catastrophic if the motor gets too hot it will melt the coils together resulting in higher resistance making the motor work harder (revolutions are slower) and gets hotter to point it will burn to death or seize. 3) use a 500W on 36V trust me you’ll have lots of fun going 25~30MPH and use at least 10Ah battery nothing bigger or you’ll start to effect the speed. 4) charge each battery individual for best results and DO NOT mix batteries unless you want acid all over the place. Also don’t use a car charger (2-12Ah charger) because it will over charge the small batteries. I accidentally did it and cooked a brand new battery.
i just bought a controller and variable throttle from bang good, 500w controller up to 36 V www.banggood.com/36V-500W-Motorcycle-Controller-Brushed-W-Throttle-Twist-Grips-78-inches22_2mm-Electric-Bike-p-1142210.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN.
I tried to install it the other day and rushed it, as the leads weren't labeled and either the controller is faulty or i shorted it out accidently. have you seen any good videos on how to install or do the mod on a e300?
outie555, most videos I've seen are either skipping the step for entertainment purposes or they keep doing trial and error. You're best off checking Reddit & other build forums.
Is there a way you can install a solar panel to charge this ?
You just saved me a lot of money in the future. I am just started learning about dc circuitry applications as I have the new version of the e300 to run around on and a junk e200 to learn from. I had plans in 12months to upgrade to its 350w big brother ,the e xr. From your reply
I would be much better to search for a quality 500w pev for the same price. Also with the project to stick to the 24v lithium along with the 350w e200 to the modded overvolt kit from eBay. Can you let me know if I understood you right
Hi ! Where can I find the blue version please ? I couldn't find this one but just the grey
i got it second hand, not sure if they still make them, but you could always check online for people selling them in your area
Thank you for the awesome video. I m really interested in buying this scooter, but I wanted to ask few things. I m 190 cm (6.2) tall and weigh 103 kg (227). Would this scooter carry me and is my height a problem to drive it? Thank you for any information.
Height wise it will be ok, but weight wise it will struggle to go up hill.
I got one of these about a year ago and I can only recommend :)
depends on how far away you work is... you can travel about 11 kilometers
Is it fast?
it goes cca 24 km/h (15mph)
If I way 105 lbs would it work for me to go up hill?
@@colbyjack6678 Well... I weight 76kg (cca. 167lbs) and it can ovecome small hills (like 15°), but in some steeper hills I have to push myself a little bit, so with your weight it should be no problem.
Hi , I like the review . 2022 I bought the new version of the e300 the HDL. Over the last few months with the upgrades Razor have added I kept on being nicely surprised. I have a junk e200 I want to put those eBay mods on and a 350w motor and 24 v lithium in the not too distant future. Your review still makes this relevant as the performance of my current razor is similar except that it come with the variable
throttle as stock.thankyou
How does it perform on hills?
I could walk faster, however the exr is got 350 w hub , Li-ion battery and thumb throttle with cost of twice as much on afterpay.
That’s what I want to upgrade to later for the performance and extra 10km/hr top speed. Same construction only better
Best video, out of 10 on this scooter
I want to know i one of these fits in front of the rear seat ( on the floor) of a normal car.
am 52 and this is my daily driver, dig it, first thing i did was remove the brakes. modded like crazy, take it everywhere. Have 24V 20Ah on board so gets abt. 15km / 40min... and it was free !!
Nice. I've now modded it with 36v lithium battery and 350w motor and controller. Nothing too crazy, just more pep uphills. I like to think of it as my electric vehicle.
@@outie555twohow much is it to mod it to that specs looking for SF hills energy
I bought a used grey one on Craigslist today that needs new batteries . Had been sitting in a garage for a year or so. Ordered a pair of 12V 9amp batteries and some crimp clips to attach them.
perfect choice mate. its easy to swap the batteries out
How long does the battery last
Regarding the lithium batteries, unfortunately they are really hard to find and replace. I mean, I am searching the positive and negative points of the scooters and the acid batteries are easier to find.
@3:18 I lost all faith in his scooter locking skills
wdym? he said to lock the wheel to something, that works, like that there's no way someone steal it unless they remove the entire wheel
Mine is poor when stood on from stand still. Although not a kick start, is it advised to push first then throttle, my kids power core E100 seems better. I expected really good torque and a bit faster but was disappointed.
Have you replaced the batteries? You can get them on eBay. It will make it like new again.
Is that the fastest it could go or did you slow it down on purpose?
Worn batteries. Not sure on the speed as I just finished upgrading it to 36v, which tops out at 27 km/h on flat ground.
Awesone review good job bro...😃
thanks buddy
It may be the first, but it’s behind now on the market.
How far can this thing go before it runs out of battery? And if it does, can you use it like a regular kick scooter to kick your way back home? Lol
You can ride for like 30-40 minutes. The way I look at it is how far can I walk in 30 min, then that's half the distance you can travel (with enough battery to get you back home). Yes you can kick like a normal scooter, but just keep in mind it's heavy so kicking up steep hills would be horrible, but it's easy enough to walk it it too steep.
@@outie555 Thanks for the info.
what distance do you get on this scooter?
With half dead old batteries I could easily get 10km range but with the lithium battery upgrade I'm going to do soon I will be able to get a lot more.
Should I get this? I way 105 lbs. I want to ride around my town. I live in the forest. Lots of hills and rocks. Also shops are pretty far away. What should I do?
If it's all you can afford it's great. But it is heavy so hills will take some of the juice out of the fully charged battery
Move house
I don't know if anyone has already said. But the non folding handle version has a 250W motor
What about he foldable one
I like the grey one because I don’t go a lot of places in a car
is it water proof
How much you pay ?
I have had a grey E300 for 2 years and it hasn’t failed me yet
Hey man I have a question
Is it pretty good
Like it’s not too slow right
y does razor keep saying to charge this product for 12 hours
What is it like going up hill slightly?
Slight hills are ok unless the batteries are getting flat.
Amaurimoto YT If I way 105 lbs would it work for me to go up hill?
Adam Jay fuck ya
Not_an_expert At it’s absolutely fine. I’m 95 pounds and had no troubles going up hills.
i have a newer model and i love it .... i still cant figure out how to go forward though.
there is a twist throttle pull cuz i have one but how long do u charge yours
EXCELLENT!
Party time
We rode ours downhill. 165 lb adult and 50 lb kid with no problems.
Just got this scooter for my son.. used it once and nite it doesn't work. Charged if child 12 hours still not working. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong with it?
I know this came with a seet, is the handle bars and seat adjustable?
I know it didn't come with a seat. This is not the seat version.
@@outie555two oh sorry nvm then
Should I leave the scooter on or off while charging ?
Off
Going a little slow there, bud 😅 Those things are so easy to modify..I'm getting a broken one to add a new battery, controller and motor for max power.
Can i modify one with the stock parts or how do you do it?
Hey man, this is a year ago now, is this still a good scooter, it looks pretty tough. i'm thinking of buying one
Yeah it's still a good scooter. Razor make a new version which is similar but a bit better. If you can get the e300 cheap then it's worth it.
I am about 110 kg. Do you think i could still use this model?
You can but any uphill will be a little bit of a struggle if the battery gets low
@@outie555 Thank you legend.
Yeah old poo
What's the weight capacity please?
I was 80kg at the time and no dramas. I think it's rated for 90kg but could probably do more if not going g on rough surfaces
But no cement in sight lol
I this one new type of E300 ?? Many differences to mine!
They make a fold up one and a non fold up one. But I haven't seen them in stores here anymore as I like in the nanny state
@@outie555two Ah thx for info... here in Germany only the unfoldable is/was available atm -.-
I am 12 years old and 5.5 feet. Do you think that I am the right size for this scooter?
MoLEcuLeZ damn you’re tall I’m 14 only 5.3
Yep you'll be fine
Love the chreldys music lol
Where can i get one of these. Somewhere that ships to toronto
maybe you could find one in toronto on Craigslist
They sell these everywhere just go to a Wal-Mart or something
I got one of these for free from a friend and the Lead acid cells are dead but I planned on modding the crap out of it anyway. gonna swap the the 2 lead bats out with a custom 18650 pack and then probably upgrade the motor from a 250 watt to a 300 or 500 watt one (or try to go to a hub motor)
I modded this now to lithium 36v and swapped the motor to a 36v one. I think I kept it 250 or 300w for the motor but it was a few years ago now. I really should make a video on it. If I did it again I would check out hub motors, but having said that I'm happy with how my upgrade turned out. It's not super fast but still street legal where I live.
What is the top speed
Around 12
all video is I like very much
3:42 he drifted
Are the handle bars height adjustable?
No
@@outie555two ok thanks, what's yr overall thoughts on the scooter? Y or N
Think laws have changed with all those scooters U can hirer now, I'm in Brisbane
Is it faster than riding a bike
Nathaniel Grant if you ride slower than about 15 km per hour.
nice Video
Thanks mate
Awesome. I want one. Gumtree it is. Thanks boss
+Name Nameson they are so much fun. Bought the wife the e200 model as it was on Gumtree for cheap. Not as much ground clearance but she accelerates faster but her batteries are almost new. I overtake her once I hit top speed. So the e300 with new batteries it should ride better than what I show in the video.
outie555 if I get one I'm gonna defiantly replace that decrepit lead acid with lithium - search on aliexpress for hover board replacement batteries, one of them.
Can it handle someone thats 5,6-5,8
Yes. I'm 6' and don't have an issue.
how tall is the scooter?
Product Dimensions:40” x 16.5” x 42.5”(1015 mm x 420mm x 1080mm)
Can you ride this on the streets and how fast is it and does it say how fast it is on the scooter when you are riding please reply
You can, but it will depend where you live. Always best to check the local laws for electric scooters. It goes about how fast the average person runs at. But it will go that speed for 20-30 minutes.
Opening front fork seems so easy and make that lock pointless,
If someone's going to steal it they will find a way either way. Just makes it less likely to be taken by an opportunistic thief.
Is this the best e scooter razor ever made ?
So far I would say yes.
@@outie555two actually it's not, I searched it after.. razor latest is the EXR check it out
Wow that has some nice upgrades. Still similar to the e300 but upgraded brakes, wheel hub motor, higher clearance and inbuilt lights.
how tall are you, thing looks a little small
6 ft
True
I legit only want this so I don’t have to walk home 30 minutes from school everyday
Legit great idea
@Mtber05 boomer
I got one from ebay and it has 2000w 48v lithium battery and it goes up to 63 kph for me and 46 km distance and it goes up huge dirt hills like 26% hills no Problem! and up the 26% hill I am getting 54kph going up
Wear a helmet!
Holy shit I need one of them batteries
Here's ur 🍪
How fast does it go
Faster than walking. top speed will be determined from your weight and how full the batteries are. I googled this: The Razor E300 is the largest one in the lineup, capable of speeds up to 15 mph and able to support riders weighing up to 220 pounds.Nov 25, 2014
Razor E300 electric scooter - CNET
outie555 what if you weigh under 100 pounds
Um not true.
I got the same eletric scooter for chrismas
Merry Christmas Buddy hope you enjoy it.
have you tried it on grass does it work well
were can I get one
From a shop that sells them. Or you could find one second hand on line if you are not having much luck finding one in the shop.
Look on craigslist. I found one today for $80. Needs new batteries:$30-45.
Chris Walmart
Construction looks good but a bit under powered.
I had one of these a few years ago and they are useless for an adult. The 2 x 6v lead acid batteries weigh a ton which adds to the weight of an already heavy scooter. The batteries also die very quickly and take forever to charge. I bought it to commute from home to the railway station and then from the railway station to the office and back again at the end of the day. A total of 5km. 2.5km each way. When I arrived at the office it had to be charged before making the trip home at the end of the day because it would not have enough juice to complete the return trip. The chain always seems to stretch and need adjustment. I weigh 80kg and only my young lightweight daughter was able to use the scooter for any length of time before it required charging. When she got older and a bit heavier to enjoy the scooter for a reasonable amount of time before it needed charging, I gave it to the next door neighbour who had a young son. I would not recommend this scooter for an adult and would suggest looking at a scooter that does not require a chain and has Lithium Ion batteries.
2x 12v making a 24V circut is what it comes with. Are you sure the batteries were only 6V each? That could be why you had dramas with it. But your right in it needs more juice, I'm in the process of upgrading mine to a 36V lithium battery and 36V 350W motor.
It has like 30 min battery
I jus got a girl color 300 called a sweet pea, pink as hell but it's got a seat, these things are heavy, real steel
Built to last a zombpocalypse
I think this scooter is more like a kids toy. I see your kicking more then scooter powering it self.
