  • You ask, I deliver! Many of you asked for an upper body weight training video...here you go! I think you will find this easy to follow and a full upper body workout! This would be a great video to follow one of my cardio / low impact aerobics videos or after a walk! You will need a pair of hand weights (soup cans or full water bottles can work). Strengthening is key to help manage arthritis, osteoporosis, and weakness. Enjoy!

    I started with you Jenny at the beginning of lockdown to get myself fit for bowel surgery in the next weeks. I have had it and made a very good speedy recovery and was back home after 4 days. 4 weeks on and my consultant said the exercise regime definitely had a big part. I’m back on track and it’s the best thing I could have done ! Thankyou so much X !!

    I did this with 4 lbs! Whew! 15 reps was a challenge! A good one! I'm 72, did most of this seated.

    My sister told me about you. I have Tendinitis in both shoulders and this exercise has made made it 100 times better. I now can go through my day without taking any medication. Wonderful!!

    2 years on and still a fantastic workout but now I’ve bought new weights double the original size. As I’ll be 70 towards the end of this year I’m aiming to be stronger still and fitter. So thanks again. 😀

    Hi Jenny! Thank you so much for your workouts! My sister, my mom, and I have continuously done your workouts every day of quarantine. You have helped us push through and stay healthy. My mom is working out without a treadmill for the first time in her life! My sister and I have found ways to elevate the work outs to fit our needs (i.e. higher weights, jumping rather than walking).     At 58, I find my upper arm and lower limb strength improving steadily, thanks to your videos. The Russian roulette was the novel component for me. Thank you Jenny, for spreading good health, strength, and cheer!

    Thank you for an excellent and focused workout! At 70 I've been doing battle with gravity for many a year. This video gives me more ammunition to keep my upper body muscles from falling to the floor completely!😁

    Just want to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. I first discovered you at the beginning of the pandemic and did a few of them throughout the months when i was not able to get outside to walk. I recently was told that I have osteoporosis so began doing this upper body workout....I started with 3 pound weights and have since moved up to 4 pounds. I also do many of your low impact videos. I love your personality and style. Your classes are easy to follow but I feel like I am getting a great workout from all of them. I am so glad to have stumbled upon you....keep up the good work and thansk for the motivation to exercise.

    Hi Jenny......Just to let you know that upper body weight training workout is just what we needed. Its work....but its worth it! I preceded it with the 20 minute cardio.....and now I feel great (besides being grateful that its done!) But here's what may interest my fellow "gym rats." I have hypertension and am on various meds. I monitor my pressure regularly. For those with hypertension, exercising often lowers the blood pressure due to the stretching of the blood vessels brought on by exercise. Case in point: today. My blood pressure measured:
    148/85 pre exercise (too high!)
    133/75 after cardio workout
    116/72 after weight training
    So it works, my friends.
    And a BIG THANK YOU to our hero, Miss Jenny.

    I, and I'm sure many other of your fans, truly appreciate the wide variety of videos that you offer. It's very generous of you to offer your expertise as a PT to so many to help us keep fit during these most trying times. Having the variety of videos, explanations and modeling of what to do and the groups you are targeting (Seniors and beginners) is so refreshing. There wasn't much out there until you filled in the gap.

    I watched this the other day and was motivated to buy some weights. Used them the first today with this video and this was great. Other than a slight "clicking sound" from my shoulder all went smoothly. Thanks

      You are welcome Rochelle! Clicking is normal with some arthritis or tendons moving - red flag would be if there is pain with the clicking. I have audible clicking on my right shoulder. I love your motivation! Way to go!

    I had a zoom appointment with my endocrinologist today for my osteoporosis. She suggested exercises with dumbbells and resistance bands. When I told her I was already doing them she was very pleased.
    Also I wanted to comment about warding off Mr. Arthur-itis. I was scheduled for a much needed knee replacement in 2014 but it had to be postponed because my platelets were too low. While waiting I exercised a lot and the knee was much better because I strengthened the supporting muscles so much! I did have the knee replacement in 2017 because I knew if I didn’t that knee would start bothering me again eventually, it was bone-on-bone.

    Great low impact stretches & strengthening for shoulders and core! I had a slight rotator cuff tear a couple years ago and went to PT for several weeks. It’s hard to do the at-home exercises on my own (discipline & boring on my own!). This video helped me address some neglected areas-I liked all of the video, but esp the open-the-coat, and row the boat. I haven’t done a cardio yet today but this was a good stretch & strengthen. Thanks so much for making these Jenny! After sitting stiff at a computer all day the neck/shoulder/back work is sooo helpful!

    Hi from India! I have been doing this set of weight training regularly ( since 2 months) and I can feel lot of strength on my shoulder and arms. It’s been a year now since I fractured my right shoulder ( rotator cuff) in Germany and had surgery there. After lockdown I cdn’t go for my Physiotherapy and then luckily I came through your channel, you came as my saviour. I have really benefited with these exercises. God bless you Jenny. I still have pain which dr’s say it will go away with time. I request you to add few exercises more for rotator cuff . Stay safe and healthy and keep posting your videos

    Jenny, I love this upper body weight bearing exercise. I works all the upper body muscles and you explain how to do them so well. I like to do this with a short aerobics video.
