I came across this video when searching for ways to strengthen my legs after knee replacement surgery, when I literally couldn't walk more than a block. I do regular cardio workouts, but that didn't really help my legs. Well, this video is fantastic!! I have been doing these exercise (in addition to the regular cardio) at least 3 times a week, for about a month now - and what a difference it has already made! I can literally feel my legs getting stronger! And my balance is much, much improved! Thank you, Jenny!!

Your exercises are just what I needed as I am 84 and since COVID happened I began losing my balance and wondered if I was crazy to have lost so much of my ability to move around such as just normal walking and keeping my balance when doing so. I sometimes feel like I’m afraid to even go out alone without someone to assist me in case I were to lose my balance and fall 😭
A brain stroke caused me to lose my balance 4 years ago. The first exercise I did with you today felt great. Hopefully, I will be able to improve my balance soon. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in this video. Although I live in Croatia, I was privileged to have you in my living room today as my coach, something I find more than beautiful.
At 71 I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I need all the exercise I can possibly get to help with balance. After doing your exercise I was really sore. So Ive used muscles that I haven't used in awhile. Will definitely be doing your video several times a week. Thanks for your concern in senior citizens and anybody with balance issues.

Jenny, thanks for this. It is a game changer. My wife and I are 73 and try to do this every day. I do have a tip that I am finding useful. With the 3rd stage of single leg stance, the tip toe is nearly impossible, but I can raise up and down, on each toe for a second or two and I am getting longer on tip toe. I did have an incident, and thought of you. I was on a step ladder looking intently at what a worker was doing and talking to him. When I backed off the ladder, I stepped on his tool belt. Two months previous I would have fallen. I did not because of this video. Joe
These are fabulous. My balance has deteriorated over the past few years and I have struggled to find effective exercises. I can practice these everywhere, which is great. Your 35 minute interval for us old geezers is wonderful, as well.
You are so correct. I have been doing this workout at least once a week for 4 months. Noticeable improvement in my balance. Cannot recommend this video enough. Love all your videos. 🥰
Thank you for these exercised! I’m doing the leg strength I got and 10balance exercises every day! I’m 84 and have had 2hip replacement s and 2 knee replacement plus broke my ankle and have metal there! I need lots of your exercises to get stronger. Been doing them for 4 months now! It came as a surprise to me that balance was more difficult than I realized. Some of these revealed the need to give more time and effort to balancing exercises. These are so practical and can be carried out with limited space in the comfort of home. To engage in these are now going to be in my select exercises for balancing. These are the exercises I need to do every day!!! As a person of 72 with dyspraxia I have had challenges with balance all my life!! Tandem standing and walking were particularly challenging but I am delighted to find a set of exercises and a cheery instructor to pep me up and get me working on this during lockdown. Thank You!

Just did this balance workout for about the 20 th time. Such a wonderful and necessary workout! You are nearly the only one devoting an entire workout to this issue. fantastic! I am 75 years old and a YMCA member,using all their equipment. The strength I have in my legs permitted me to do the highest level the first time! I was amazed that it felt like I burned lots !of calories, getting my heart rate up!I so appreciate you

I just love reading everyone’s comments...so encouraging and international!!! I’m so glad I found you! You offer sooooo many videos that address a myriad of concerns. My balance is awful and two years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis because my cancer treatment depleted my body of vitamin D. So as spastic as I am anyway, now the fear of breaking a bone is a real concern. You make all of us feel like we can participate, the level doesn’t matter as long as you keep moving! Some of these movements were challenging for me, but also gives me a workable goal. In a world of exercise videos where I often feel left behind, you encourage me all the way. Had my 50th birthday last year and determined to become healthier after dealing with a year of gallbladder issues then surgery...I took this as a wake up call for my diet and lifestyle. I went back to the YMCA using weights, walk nature trails for cardio, but I needed something for balance (the wellness coaches didn't have much I can do for that..what they showed me was too advanced). So glad I found your channel and putting this one in my workout playlist.😊

Jenny just finished your fabulous exercise 2nd time and intend to do as you say every other day , My balance. Core,and u name it I completely out of balance in every way, pelvic out of zinc , Have been doing stretching,and coping best I can ,Am 76yrs and would say not bad for my age but past while huge balance and vertigo issues , could not believe how grounded I was for rest of the day after first session following you ,and energised Thank you so much for sensible straightforward to follow class ,shall inform many in my age group to follow you . I had spine surgery last year on my lumbar spine then 11 months ago on my cervical which was the cause of my stiff legs, vertigo, and worst balance . I had been with physiotherapy twice and I feel of no progress. My quality of life has changed and I feel miserable. I read about vertigo and balance are side effects of cervical as per study made to people that had undergone cervical surgeries after 10 years ago. These are what affected me…vertigo and bad balance. Until I was led to your video exercise last nite . I did it today and I felt so good after and mostly it gave me full of hope. Thank you.
despite doing yoga incuding tiptoe and balancing posture, this is the first time i know the role of the lower leg as well as the concept of training the reflex and muscles for recovery instead of being stern for balancing. I hurt my ankles a lot in the past in all balaning postures, so your explanation and demo is a real gift to me. Thanks so much!!!!

I am just getting back into fitness after a mini gastric bypass. My balance is a mess. I am over 60 so that is to be expected. I have taken many falls, some of which required medical intervention. Hi Jenny. I started out as a sivananda yoga teacher in 2002. While teaching yoga at Bally total fitness I was lucky to receive training in silver sneakers and got several certifications. Plus a level mat one Pilates. My main love is yoga. For the past 10 years I’ve been teaching at a community center, a mix of senior classes and chair yoga. Now I’m home teaching zoom classes during covid. Have never had the guts to go on you tube personally. But use it as inspiration to learn new tricks😉 I’m enjoying your routines. You Don't have to worry about your roots or toenail your a very desieable woman. My therapist took me through the same exercise after total knee replacement. Im saveing this in my health files just incase i forget some.❤love your show

Thank you My balance is horrid ,been thru hip replacement, I have heel issues and just don't excersise like I use too and haven't felt good at all ,well get there again so glad I found you ❤
I'm 44 and I will say for a while now (maybe 10 years?) I've noticed a decrease in my balance going down the stairs (wide stairs with no hand rails, unless you're on the side). Basically people (mostly younger but could be older too) pass me going down. I can still walk down without a hand rail but I need to go a bit slower than the average person it seems. It's a little embarrassing, but also probably indicative of a balance problem in general I should work on. I'm pretty impressed by your balance - some of these exercises are challenging me.

I’m a 64 year old retiree from California. I love all your videos as it is perfect for my ability as a senior. I also have plantar fasciitis and a big bunion and flat footed. I know the hamstrings are good exercise for plantar. Wondering if there are other exercises for this type of feet condition. Hi! Yeah, that's a lot of foot issues. As I am sure you know, proper footwear and perhaps orthotic insoles a must. But, as far as exercises, I would stretch the heel and calf muscles 3 times a day. And, freeze a bottle of water and roll your foot on it 3 times a day. Hope that helps some! Thanks for the feedback - you are very welcome.

I am so pleased to have found this set of exercises for Sciatica sufferers. My aging body suffers from Sciatica a lot and I have never been able to find some simple yet effective exercises to release the pain. I’ve been doing balance exercises for months prescribed by my PT, but not nearly as comprehensive as these. I’m fine with standing on one leg but adding in other distractions makes it much more difficult. I definitely need to add this into my regular rotation. The step back is basically an easy version of a backward lunge, isn’t it? Much easier to do when not called lunges! 😉 Thanks!

As a retired PE teacher, and Exercise and Fitness instructor, I know an EXCELLENT teacher/instructor when I see one and you are it. I've been watching your videos here in the Algarve, Portugal and each and every one is top class.Your instructions are very precise, the music is perfectly matched, you seague from one exercise into the other effortlessly and you don't do too much talking like some of the others online.I love the variety of locations and classes. Would it be possible to do a class focusing on the abs and upper body?

Hi Jenny Thanks for your clear & thorough explanations about balance. I've long been able to balance on one leg for as long as you like...but! Now I discover the addition of raising on tiptoes, do-able with a bit of a wobble. And moving the head, woo woh wobble, even on two feet in tandem stance! You have given me a great addition to my exercise sessions.

Thanks for this video, I suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury 2007) I have a note from my neurosurgeon stating that I have balance issues and cannot pass a sobriety test on the roadside sober. I have a arm rail in my hallway that I installed just for my continued physical therapy with my balance issues. I used to live on and in my old wooden sailboat because I knew that I had to constantly work on my balance problems because if I didn’t I would either land on the deck or in the chilly water of the Chesapeake Bay.

Great job!! They give you a great workout, I’m a cyclist and I loved it. Just one advice, make sure you turn on your side so we know exactly where to place our feet, how far or up.
I have been looking for some exercise routines that I could do and not feel awful the next day. I have completed this one (I love the beach) and one of the low impact aerobic videos. I came across this video when searching for ways to strengthen my legs after knee replacement surgery, when I literally couldn't walk more than a block. I do regular cardio workouts, but that didn't really help my legs. Well, this video is fantastic!! I have been doing these exercise (in addition to the regular cardio) at least 3 times a week, for about a month now - and what a difference it has already made! I can literally feel my legs getting stronger! And my balance is much, much improved! Thank you, Jenny!!

Your exercises are just what I needed as I am 84 and since COVID happened I began losing my balance and wondered if I was crazy to have lost so much of my ability to move around such as just normal walking and keeping my balance when doing so. I sometimes feel like I’m afraid to even go out alone without someone to assist me in case I were to lose my balance and fall 😭

At 71 I was diagnosed with osteoporosis. I need all the exercise I can possibly get to help with balance. After doing your exercise I was really sore. So Ive used muscles that I haven't used in awhile. Will definitely be doing your video several times a week. Thanks for your concern in senior citizens and anybody with balance issues.

Jenny, thanks for this. It is a game changer. My wife and I are 73 and try to do this every day.
I do have a tip that I am finding useful. With the 3rd stage of single leg stance, the tip toe is nearly impossible, but I can raise up and down, on each toe for a second or two and I am getting longer on tip toe.
I did have an incident, and thought of you. I was on a step ladder looking intently at what a worker was doing and talking to him. When I backed off the ladder, I stepped on his tool belt. Two months previous I would have fallen. I did not because of this video.

These are fabulous. My balance has deteriorated over the past few years and I have struggled to find effective exercises. I can practice these everywhere, which is great. Your 35 minute interval for us old geezers is wonderful, as well.

I’m 84 and have had 2hip replacement s and 2 knee replacement plus broke my ankle and have metal there! I need lots of your exercises to get stronger. Been doing them for 4 months now! It came as a surprise to me that balance was more difficult than I realized. Some of these revealed the need to give more time and effort to balancing exercises. These are so practical and can be carried out with limited space in the comfort of home. To engage in these are now going to be in my select exercises for balancing. These are the exercises I need to do every day!!! As a person of 72 with dyspraxia I have had challenges with balance all my life!! Tandem standing and walking were particularly challenging but I am delighted to find a set of exercises and a cheery instructor to pep me up and get me working on this during lockdown. Thank You!

Just did this balance workout for about the 20 th time. Such a wonderful and necessary workout! You are nearly the only one devoting an entire workout to this issue. I just love reading everyone’s comments...so encouraging and international!!! I’m so glad I found you! You offer sooooo many videos that address a myriad of concerns. My balance is awful and two years ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis because my cancer treatment depleted my body of vitamin D. So as spastic as I am anyway, now the fear of breaking a bone is a real concern. You make all of us feel like we can participate, the level doesn’t matter as long as you keep moving! Some of these movements were challenging for me, but also gives me a workable goal. In a world of exercise videos where I often feel left behind, you encourage me all the way. Had my 50th birthday last year and determined to become healthier after dealing with a year of gallbladder issues then surgery...I took this as a wake up call for my diet and lifestyle. I went back to the YMCA using weights, walk nature trails for cardio, but I needed something for balance (the wellness coaches didn't have much I can do for that..what they showed me was too advanced). So glad I found your channel and putting this one in my workout playlist.😊

I had spine surgery last year on my lumbar spine then 11 months ago on my cervical which was the cause of my stiff legs, vertigo, and worst balance . I had been with physiotherapy twice and I feel of no progress. My quality of life has changed and I feel miserable. I read about vertigo and balance are side effects of cervical as per study made to people that had undergone cervical surgeries after 10 years ago. These are what affected me…vertigo and bad balance. Until I was led to your video exercise last nite . I did it today and I felt so good after and mostly it gave me full of hope. Thank you.
despite doing yoga incuding tiptoe and balancing posture, this is the first time i know the role of the lower leg as well as the concept of training the reflex and muscles for recovery instead of being stern for balancing. I hurt my ankles a lot in the past in all balaning postures, so your explanation and demo is a real gift to me. Thanks so much!!!!

I am just getting back into fitness after a mini gastric bypass. My balance is a mess. I am over 60 so that is to be expected. I have taken many falls, some of which required medical intervention. Hi Jenny. I started out as a sivananda yoga teacher in 2002. While teaching yoga at Bally total fitness I was lucky to receive training in silver sneakers and got several certifications. Plus a level mat one Pilates. My main love is yoga. For the past 10 years I’ve been teaching at a community center, a mix of senior classes and chair yoga. Now I’m home teaching zoom classes during covid. Have never had the guts to go on you tube personally. But use it as inspiration to learn new tricks😉 I’m enjoying your routines. I'm 44 and I will say for a while now (maybe 10 years?) I've noticed a decrease in my balance going down the stairs (wide stairs with no hand rails, unless you're on the side). Basically people (mostly younger but could be older too) pass me going down. I can still walk down without a hand rail but I need to go a bit slower than the average person it seems. It's a little embarrassing, but also probably indicative of a balance problem in general I should work on. I'm pretty impressed by your balance - some of these exercises are challenging me.

I’m a 64 year old retiree from California. I love all your videos as it is perfect for my ability as a senior. I also have plantar fasciitis and a big bunion and flat footed. I know the hamstrings are good exercise for plantar. Wondering if there are other exercises for this type of feet condition. Hi! Yeah, that's a lot of foot issues. As I am sure you know, proper footwear and perhaps orthotic insoles a must. But, as far as exercises, I would stretch the heel and calf muscles 3 times a day. And, freeze a bottle of water and roll your foot on it 3 times a day. Hope that helps some! Thanks for the feedback - you are very welcome.
Thank you! This was fantastic! I fell in the early summer, tearing my abductors and adductors; when to PT for about 10-12 weeks until better. Yet, this is exactly what I need to help me keep up what they taught me! Thank you, again, for making this free and possible to keep on keeping on!

I am so pleased to have found this set of exercises for Sciatica sufferers. My aging body suffers from Sciatica a lot and I have never been able to find some simple yet effective exercises to release the pain. Only started today but I did your balance exercises straight after and the pain has already eased in my butt! I will let you know how I am going in about 2-3 weeks! Thanks again.

Thank you for having a set of 10 exercises that are great for balance. I have a problem with balance and it is getting worse and I have been to physical therapy but nothing has been as good as in Comprehensive from my sitting to walking and standing I appreciate your visual instructions as well as your voice thank you very much and I will tune in every day

I’ve been doing balance exercises for months prescribed by my PT, but not nearly as comprehensive as these. I’m fine with standing on one leg but adding in other distractions makes it much more difficult. I definitely need to add this into my regular rotation.
The step back is basically an easy version of a backward lunge, isn’t it? Much easier to do when not called lunges! 😉

As a retired PE teacher, and Exercise and Fitness instructor, I know an EXCELLENT teacher/instructor when I see one and you are it. I've been watching your videos here in the Algarve, Portugal and each and every one is top class.Your instructions are very precise, the music is perfectly matched, you seague from one exercise into the other effortlessly and you don't do too much talking like some of the others online.I love the variety of locations and classes. Would it be possible to do a class focusing on the abs and upper body?

Hi Jenny Thanks for your clear & thorough explanations about balance. I've long been able to balance on one leg for as long as you like...but! Now I discover the addition of raising on tiptoes, do-able with a bit of a wobble. And moving the head, woo woh wobble, even on two feet in tandem stance! You have given me a great addition to my exercise sessions.

Thanks for this video, I suffered a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury 2007) I have a note from my neurosurgeon stating that I have balance issues and cannot pass a sobriety test on the roadside sober. I have a arm rail in my hallway that I installed just for my continued physical therapy with my balance issues. I used to live on and in my old wooden sailboat because I knew that I had to constantly work on my balance problems because if I didn’t I would either land on the deck or in the chilly water of the Chesapeake Bay.

This is great! With Acoustic Neuroma I lost much of my balance and hearing already. I’ve been doing these every day and they are helping my left side to take over the right. After my surgery I should be ahead of the balance game. Thanks!

I have been looking for some exercise routines that I could do and not feel awful the next day. I have completed this one (I love the beach) and one of the low impact aerobic videos.
