@@judz567 With that 885 cap, it won't without a little help from gravity :) Viper'll also accelerate better and turn better. Courier jumps further tho, and can carry more weight for sure.
It would be cool to have some official racing/challenge mechanics. Here is my suggestion: A new NPC would appear on station contacts, that you can ask for challenges. You can set which one you want (canyon race, SRV rally, ship drag race, structure maneuver challenge, long-range ship rally, target shooting time trial, etc.), as well as your reward type (credits, materials, influence, reputation, goods). You then do the challenge, and are awarded in proportion to your performance.
I've been watching you guys for about 2 and a half years and I still get just as excited when a video notification pops up. I love you guys. Keep it up!
3 years old, but still relevant. Well done guys. Not sure if it has already been said, but G5 lightweight on the life support does not increase speed beyond 932. It will increase jump range by a miniscule amount, but jumping ain't what this build is about so don't waste your time trying to get the ship out to Etienne Dorn (if you haven't pinned the blueprint).
Great vid, and thanks for the shout out :) Protip though: Whilst the 2D distro will get you the 932...turning the Viper at these speeds really does require boost vectoring, so you'll *really* want more boosts available cos hitting things is fatal. A 3D distro will get you 922-923, and you can still get to 932 with about 70% fuel load in the tank. And lots more boosts. To keep you alive.....a bit longer, anyway. Have fun a-hooning! :) Ps. iEagle don't just cruise slower, it accelerates a LOT slower too. Viper's got the crown for sure!
Less speed test, more agility test. Try moving onto a vector 90 degrees from your original 932 one without boost, then with boost into your lateral thrusters. The latter is much, much more efficient, and if in a situation where you need lots of abrupt manoeuvres to avoid hitting stuff like canyon or corridor walls, the more boosts in the distro, the more agile you are. A 3A will bring you down to 888ish, but permaboost. The 3D is a kind of happy medium. Try it out :)
Thanks for the vid. Found it yesterday so I went and built one. Never knew you could make a viper so fast. If you skip the shields you can go with a G5 3D Engine Focused-Stripped Down Power Distributor instead. This way you still get a top speed of 932, but you can also perma-boost to maintain higher speed. Makes for a big improvement. You could also G5 lightweight the Life Support. Doesnt give you more boost speed, but a bit more jump range (if you G5 the FSD Faster Boot-Stripped Down too)
@@GhostGiraffe I should also mention that you can only G5 Lightweight Life Support in Colonia (far as i know anyway). EDIT: Also turning off your Distributor (after maxing engine pips) instead of the cargo hatch let's you use the hatch as a space air-brake while leaving throttle at max. Kinda handy.
I just switched over from an Xbox to PC (with HOTAS) and made my new character, finished the tutorial that isn't included in the Xbox edition and went to a low security RES to scrape enough credits to buy a mining laser and refinery for the ol' sidewinder. Sounds like you're having a blast! Well it looks like you are on the right track for Viper adventure! If you are looking for a bigger attack ship the FDL may be for you.
Remember kids dont do drugs , and if you want a fast ship without engineering , go to Kuhn and go buy enhanced thrusters size 2 or 3 cost you one million or five million. Pay for it you go faster then any npc ship. Around 480 to 600 depending on ship , and build type.
"Advanced" performance thrusters? And here was me using last generation enhanced performance thrusters. (1:15) :) Faster boot sequence is preferred for the FSD because the other two options will add mass (improved range adds 10% at G1, shielded 4%) You'll take a slight hit to max speed (around 922) by going for a 3D charge enhanced/super conduit power distributor but you'll get a boost cycle of 5 or 6 before you start running dry, and then you'll not have to wait as long before you start getting boost back. Which is pretty vital for vectoring the Viper at those sorts of speeds, and once you've burned some fuel you're back up to that 932 speed cap anyway. Depends on whether you want raw speed or to use it places. This is the other huge advantage the Viper has over the Gutamaya Eagle. I'll see but we aren't allowed back at the pet store...
Not as fast as an Adder.
@@CrimsonGamer99 Hahaha! Welcome to the party, Mr. Vomit Comet!
What’s that thing with building speed using the gravity fields ? Show the thing !
Amazing, i had done this with the Imperial Eagle, without shields. 😅😅 guess the Viper mkIII is even faster.
It’s strange because the acceleration to 932 is slower than the viper as well. Also over heats faster when on a planet.
He even sounds like the type of guy who would figure this out.
Hahaha who woulda guessed when he said "Using gravity", it would be HD 148937.
Can you tell me the title of the initial music? It's super!
Ghost Cop but it’s towards the middle of the song
Ok thanks a lot. You'r spawrks right? I love your space tourism episodes whit mars yurip. Really funny and well done job :)
They’re saying that 5m for thrusters is a lot of money........here I am spending 113m on 1A bulkheads, not even the 246m reactive ones lol.
now i have to try it myself!
Let us know how it goes!
Buy both the Viper and Eagle and we get your wife chili plus the wife? hum.. i like food. SOLD!
Get this man some ships!
*WOAH, THAT SNAIL IS **_FAST_** !*
Well I guess I’m selling my courier then...
It’s a real shamr
Although the iCourier's a little slower, you can carry more equipment at its top speed due to its lighter hull.
So why does Coriolis only show 525/657 with this build? NM I just discovered *enhanced performance.. now off to figure out how and where for that
From farseer
Is this fixed yet? I can´t even get close to 900 m/s with mass of 62,4 t and almost thrusters on 5th grade. I get 651 m/s at the time.
Did you get the advance performance thrusters or the regular class A ones?
@@GhostGiraffe I think the normal ones. Where can I get those advanced things? Thanks for your answer!
From any thruster engineer in their outfitting :)
@@GhostGiraffe I was such blind. Thank you very much :)
932m/s seems the max limit for non FSD speed. I've gotten an I-Eagle (death dart) to the same level
It's been a while since I've played, what exactly do you mean by "grade"? Engineer level? Like when you say "grade 5 3D sensors" where would I see that it's grade 5?
:D love it
Thanks!!
Lol hilarious stuff!
Thanks so much!
Aren't those kilometers per hour? Because 932m/s is 192 000 km/h. Which is scientificaly...
No, 932×3.6= 3355,2 km/h ... I think you miscalculated very badly. How did you calculate that?
I've been wondering if you can slingshot off planets in E:D or evochron. Thanks :)
I don’t think so but not really sure
So much work and it still not faster than modern jets. Rocketship leaving earth gets to 6,7 km/s. Is this the future? :D
iEagle
Fukn love that
I wonder if the Mamba would be faster as it was meant to be a racer.
Wait but you could just go into supercrouse
I followed the build exactly... cant get past 750 m/s patched ?
