- Welcome back, jewellery lovers
A simple and beginner friendly DIY ring tutorial, using copper washers.
In today's video, I will be showing you how to make a beautiful hammered copper band ring, using easy to find and simple materials.
All you need is a copper washer, three beads, and some wire.
I'll walk you through the process, step by step, and break down this beginner friendly project.
Materials you will need today, are:
Copper washer (bare copper is best)
Bare copper wire (for wrapping the beads) 0.5mm/0.6mm (24g/22g)
Three beads - 2/3/4/6mm (your choice)
Metal ring mandrel
Chasing hammer
Bench block
Hope you enjoy the video. Sorry about the hammering noises... I did try and edit my video to reduce the amount of time you need to watch me hammering and filing :D
Let me know in the comments section what you make! I'd love to hear how you found the video and what beautiful things you are inspired to make xx - Навчання та стиль
Any hands that create such beautiful things are beautiful themselves!
That’s lovely ☺️
I agree, your hands are so creative and beautiful!!.
Wow...for someone dabbling or clearing the mind and not-for-profit, your designs are stunning and your work is beautiful. Can't wait to start on some of your tutorials here across the pond.❤
Ah that’s so very kind of you to say. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the videos ☺️
My father told me if I’m lucky enough to have hands like my Mom, hard working hands he called them were a blessing from all the hard work we were not afraid of. He also called them giving hands and loving hands. My father also told my sisters and me that he loved my Mother and she always comes first in his heart. He loved us girls but he loved my Mom more. As children we felt so safe growing up. Knowing that our parents would always be together and we never worried about them splitting up like our friends parents did. I had a secure upbringing. It’s an honour to have loving hands so wear your rings with honour and show those hand off. I love these rings. I’m new to your channel and I’m checking out older videos. I love your designs. Thank you for sharing your creativity and talent with us. I appreciate your hard work and your time. Take care. 💝🥰🤗
This is so beautiful ☺️ and has made me feel quite emotional 🥲 I will look upon my hands as loving hands in future, and I thank you so much for your lovely words ❣️
I made stackable rings from my copper washers. I will enjoy making the beaded ones as well! I really love your teaching style and your fun sense of humor! Thank you!
You may not need or want music over the hammering, but I WANT it over the blasted filing. Very cute idea I'm going to have to try. Thanks again
😊
😂 noted!
Very beautiful Samantha!!. I love the rings, amazing that you can turn an ordinary copper washer into something so clever and elegant. I would start one now but it’s bedtime…tomorrow though!!. 😀
You are so welcome! 🤗
Wow, I never realised somethimg so beautiful could be made from a washer. I definitely will be trying this once I get a little more proficient with my wire crafting. X
Glad you enjoyed the video 🥰
So happy I found you. Love watching your videos and I have made a few of your bracelets. I guess I need to go shopping and get some washers now. Just looks like fun. Thank you thank you for your videos. They are very easy to follow. Thank you from Arizona.
Oh that’s so lovely! I’m so glad you enjoy the videos. Have fun with the washers! You can use them for so many things 😍
Oh boy, I would love to try this! I will have to get a heavier hammer and a steel mandrel first. Thank you for another great tutorial! Your rings are beautiful.
You’ll definitely have to have a try, Colleen. The steel mandrels aren’t too expensive ☺️
Wow, I would have never thought of making a ring out of a copper washer. I just put a kit into my temu order. I'm bing watching your videos and you are just so creative ❤
Thank you so much ☺️ Hope you enjoy making them 🥰
Love the washer idea-and I have a box full!! ❤️
Wonderful! I love it when we have just what we need, without having to splash out on new supplies 😍
Very pretty. I put this one on my 'Make' list! Thanks for sharing another great tutorial!!
You’re so welcome! I hope you love making it 😍
Nice, thank you. I managed to make one even with a wooden mandrel and no hammering block. Now I'll invest.
That’s wonderful 🥰
Excellent tutorial! Preparing the washer is a bit of a process but I suppose once you've done it once or twice it goes a little faster. I like this one with the small pearls best and look forward to your video adding the solitaire pearl.
Thank you so much ☺️ It definitely gets easier the more you do it, for sure. 🙌
Just beautiful. Love your work, you explain very clearly.
That’s very kind of you, thank you ☺️
These are so cute! I love them! Not so difficult either.
Absolutely! Perfect for a beginner 😍
I love that these can be made with such simple materials! Must order washers! Thank you!
The washers are fabulous for all sorts of uses. 😍
Very resourceful! And these washers are great craft materials. Great idea!
They’re such a great addition to a craft stash, aren’t they 👍🏻
Good morning Samantha I’ve been watching your video over and over the rings are so lovely I bought everything I need for making the rings but I can’t bend them I am living in England I can’t get the washers you mention only the right small washer rings I can’t bend but not the larger ones that fit me maybe there is another word for them over here I have lung cancer and going for treatment later this month I like to make rings for my daughter thank you for putting your lovely work on here ❤❤❤
Great Tutorial!
Glad it was helpful! 😍
Thank you great rings 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
You’re welcome 😊
Hello Samantha, I just wanted to let you know that a few days ago I followed this tutorial and made a lovely ring with 4 mm Indian agate beads. I am so pleased with it!
Also, congratulations on passing the 1000 subscriber mark! It is well deserved. You should be proud of all of the quality videos you have already made. Take good care of yourself; when you're ready to come back with another video we will be here 🙂.
Ah Rene. That’s wonderful! Makes me so happy that you’ve made something beautiful 😍 I love Indian Agate, and I bet it’s such a pretty ring.
I’ll be back very soon as I have so many ideas for videos. I’ve had some health issues recently, which has kept me pretty low, and now we’re in the process of moving home, so all my supplies have had to be packed away, which is giving me no end of anxiety 😆
Thank you so so much for your continued support 😊
@@samanthalatimer1Goodness, that is so much to deal with all at once. I am sure you'll be incredibly relieved to be on the other side of it!
In your bio it said you are a "Sen mum"; I had to Google that because it's not an expression I'm familiar with here in Canada. Well, it turns out that I'm a Sen mum too! Ha. So I imagine you're resilient 😉
Ah it’s so nice to “meet” another SEN Mum. You’re doing a brilliant job, Mama!
I’m sure jewellery making and crafting in general has kept me sane and grounded all these years ❤️
Hi Sam How was Your Halloween? Cute Little Rings.. Thank You So Much Sam.. I 💕 Your Channel
Thank you so much ☺️
Love your tutorials! You mention in the ring tutorial using copper washers that you make other pieces of jewelry with washers. Do you have tutorials for those as well?
Not yet ☺️ Would you like to see some more?
Absolutely!! Especially earrings made with the washers.
@@debcampbell9539 lovely! I’ll get onto it soon 🥰
@@samanthalatimer1 I’ll be waiting!! 😁
Very cool idea! Question: Do you have a separate steel shot for copper & silver jewelry?
Steel shot?
@@samanthalatimer1 in the tumbler.
that's a lot of work for one ring..how long does it take you from start to finish with this process?
Not long. Maybe 15-20 minutes
Where is the video for the single stone rjng?
It’s coming! I’ll record it very soon 😃
Doesn’t copper make your skin turn green?
It can with some people. I think it depends upon your body chemistry. I use Renaissance Wax on some of my pieces and that helps to keep it at bay. I guess if you have a green finger with copper, then don’t wear it ☺️
Now my husband is going to mysteriously start losing his washers.
Haha I love that 🤩 It’s the other way around in my house, where my husband steals MY washers 😆
