- Welcome to a cute DIY wire wrap earring tutorial, where I will be showing you how to make a simple but effective pair of earrings, using copper wire and rondelle beads. Super cute and really easy to follow.
I'll also be taking you on a little road trip, so I hope you enjoy our day out to Arnside in Cumbria.
And a warm Lancashire welcome from my lounge, where I'll be rambling about somethings and nothings. I'm so proud to be a Lancashire Lass and I have lots of things planned to show you the wonders and delights of my county.
For today's tutorial, you will need:
2mm (14g wire)
0.5mm (24g0 wire - I am using copper
Heavy duty cutters
Flush cutters
Bail making pliers (for the 10mm step)
Chain nose pliers
Emery file or metal file
Bench block
Substantial chasing hammer
10x6 rondelle beads (I used simple agate, but you can use anything you choose - as I say... the world is your oyster!)
Have lots of fun with these and please do let me know how you get along. I'd love to hear from you.
As promised, here's the link to Lucy at Attic24 blog: www.attic24.ty...
Please do check her out!
Look forward to seeing you in my lounge soon. Take care, all xx

Hi Denise 😍 ME/CFS is awful to deal with and I understand your struggles 😢 It’s good that we have our crafting to keep us going ❤️
@@samanthalatimer1 I'm hoping to recover, I'm working on it. I manage to work full time now so that's a godsend I and have just started making jewellery. It's very addictive and keeps my mind occupied. Love your designs

Just beautiful!
So kind 🤗 thank you so much ☺️
These are lovely and I have so many bead and crystal rondelles in my stash! Off I go to the hardware store for 2mm wire…
Hope you have fun making them ☺️
I love getting see a bit of your side of the world. It's so pretty there. You're having days like we are, one day it's nice and sunny and the next day it's gloomy and raining. Thank you for taking me along for the ride. Love, love the earrings. Don't think I can use the 2 mil wire. My hands wouldn't like it. Could I use 1 mil instead? Do you think that would work? Oh and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Oh it's so lovely to see you here, Jeanetta. I'm really happy you enjoyed seeing a little snippet of my part of the world, and you're right...it's so pretty. I think you could definitely use 1mm wire, but I would suggest giving them a little tap with a nylon or leather hammer, just to work the metal slightly (but not flatten it). Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, all the way from Lancashire.
@@samanthalatimer1 thank you for the idea of using a nylon hammer. I've got both types, but the nylon should do just fine. I just have to say I enjoy your tutorials so much. You make each one seem so easy to do.
That’s so very kind of you, thank you ☺️
I really love the colour-block afghan/throw/blanket. (What are they called in Britain?!) And thanks for the outing! T'was nerve-wracking driving on the 'wrong' side of the road (born in the USA, living in Canada).
I always think the same when I see folks driving on the right 😂 I guess we just call it a blanket here… thank you for your lovely comment ☺️
Do you leave your raw copper wire as is; letting it oxidize with time or do you put a clear coat on it?
It all depends on the piece. I do apply a couple of coats of renaissance wax to some, and leave some raw and clean each time I wear it. It depends on whether it’s for me, or a gift or for sale ☺️
You mention 2mm wire, which is 14 gauge. But you list 18 gauge wire. Would you please confirm the gauge? It looks like 14 ga and I love it. Thank you for this fantastic design.
Ah sorry, yes it’s 14g. My mistake. I’ll alter the description ☺️
At the beginning of the earring portion of the video you say that we need 2mm wire, but in materials listed it says 1 mm wire ~ could you please let me know the correct size? I live in the USA and you don;t see jewelry that people in the UK make ~ I love the uniqueness of them
Hi there 😍 Good spot! It is 2mm wire you need (which I think is 14g). Sorry for the confusion. I’ll go and change the description 🥰
Wouldn't memory wire cutters work as well or better since they're specially made for cutting the steel of memory wire?
Ooh I don’t know! I would think so… give it a try and let me know 😍
2mm copper wire should not be an issue for them. I don't hsve any 16/14 gauge (2mm) wire to test with
@@lauresa10 I’d think they would cope with 14/16g copper pretty well ☺️
Beautiful road trip. What is a frog hat, I tried to google it and it literally brought up pictures of a hats that looks like a frog 🤣
It’s nothing really 😂 Just a silly thing my daughter said. She thought it looked like a hat for a frog 😍
@@samanthalatimer1 🤣🐸🎩 too funny!😃
My profile pic is a blanket I crocheted :)
It’s amazing 🤩
As a newby to your channel it's nice to pit a face to the voice. Don't mention menopause.......body or yet flower!! Lol.
Thanks for subbing! 🤩
I’m not having much luck finding 22mm wire🤔
You can use a lighter gauge 🥰 16g would be fine for these
Thank you 😊
Sorry not to be school ed about the wire sizes and what not.. I have 14 gauge 1.6mm 🫣
@@jeanettesanderson8113 that would be absolutely fine ☺️
Thank you for your patience. ❤
Do you sell your jewelry?
I used to. I sold at fairs and my Etsy shop. But illness in the family and other circumstances meant I had to put my energies elsewhere, sadly. I’m just starting to restock for fairs etc ☺️
Thank you so much for your reply! I hope everyone is healthy now and hope things are better. Our lives are full of ups and downs.
I have, in the last 2 years, been back home, after 31 years of living away...and making an income has been tough for us, in a "new" country. I thought I should try to make jewelry. I love the process of creating these beautiful pieces! I find it so relaxing but have not tried to sell them. Fear, I guess.
We sold and gave away absolutely everything we owned to come here, and have used most of our savings....I can not afford to be afraid! Lol
I find your videos to be fun, easy to learn, and encouraging.
Thank you so much! 💓
nice video ,,,can i talk with you
Sure! What would you like to talk about?
