Howdy from Australia. Thanks for sharing your inspirational work and process! As a noob just getting into lasers and marquetery, is the kerf of the laser (laser width) something you need to factor between each of the veneer elements? Cheers
Awesome, thank you! There is a kerf that needs to go into your planning. I usually put a positive .0002 offset. Very little, but it helps with the tight transition to the adjacent veneer cutout.
Where did you find the image you used
Would you share what laser you are using please?
I ended up going with a XTool Destop Laser. It’s discontinued and there is an upgraded model. It’s definitely a entry level at best, but works with what I’m currently doing.
