I was in the same boat, I started divinity original sin 2 and couldn’t really latch on to it. I gave bg3 a go and 5 hours in I can’t stop thinking about it, it’s incredible. I’d still recommend giving it a go if you can afford it!
I couldn’t get into DOS2, never even made it off the ship. This on the other hand, the presentation elevates it so much. And I enjoy tactics like combat (even if I usually prefer action games), but it’s everything else around that combat , especially the cinematography that really makes this a stand out experience
The game is for me more than a goty I have played it for more approximately 1000 hours so it is for me a 9,5/10 depending how everything works out a 10/10 Good video
My issue with BG3 thus far (i'm only 15 hours in) is that it feels very gamey. It is super true to the D&D 5e experience, and at times feels like i'm playing tabletop. However what it doesn't do is let the mechanics slip into the background and let the gameplay and story shine. Maybe its the dice rolls constantly popping up, or the constant zoom-ins to cinematics which feel excessive, but I constantly see the gears turning as I play which breaks the immersion. The game ultimately forgets that D&D is a story system with mechanics underneath, rather than a mechanical system with a story underneath. I miss the immersion and escapism that even modern RPGs like Pillars of Eternity do way better. Or even Elden Ring which actually is pretty incredible at making you forget the mechanics of the game and front ends the wonder, discovery, and mystery of the world.
I don't think it forgets it. It strikes me as far more of a conscious decision, like a celebration of the history of role playing games. The mechanics are part of that. I love being able to see the dice rolls. Perhaps they could make them optionally invisible, however, for people like you.
The graphics are both good and bad...there's weird lighting and colors sometimes and people teleport in cutscenes a lot...animations are 6/10 at best outside of cutscenes...the faces look good technically but give me weird Neverwinter2 uncanny vibes....every other scene i see in this game makes it feel like a 90s game somehow, I can't even explain it...not in a good way. I want to play this and skip the dice roll delay animations, but i'm not sure I can get past the look.
Game is boring af. Streamers will make it game if the year since if gives them a game they can play all day with how slow paced it is and the content. Definitely a game for people without lifes and have hours eveeyday to play it. Cough cough streamers
Not just GOTY, but GOAT conversations.
You can get into the tight spaces by turning into a gas, or casting enlarge/reduce too
Also mages hand !
Putting Role-playing back in role-playing games.
The Dragonborn with that hat-at the 5 minute mark-is just too hilarious for words 😆
STEAMDECK AND BG3 IS AMAZING COMBO IF YOU WANT TO PLAY AT WORK AT HOME AT SCHOOL AT HOME 😅😅😅
My man is asking children to bunk school 😂😂

Are you playing? What are you enjoying most?
Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls, Elden Ring, no matter what RPG you've played, Dungeons and Dragons IS the grandfather of them all
im fortunate that im co-oping with someone who really knows how to play these kinds of games haha
I'd go a bit further, in the conversation for the GOAT.
Baldur's Gate 3 should certainly be Game of the Year. I believe it is one of the best games ever made.
So refreshing
They gave it 10/10
GOTY right there
Game of the year? You mean game of the decade
How are you in act 2 in 22 hours? How much content did you skip?
wish i could enjoy games like this, bought divinity original sin 2 and it's just not for me.
same. it looks amazing but I couldn't get into divinity origins
I think the main barrier to entry is the combat. So I’m playing it on the easiest difficulty, and I dare say I’m enjoying it as much as Witcher 3.

It should be a nominee for goty but no way its coming close to beating Tears of The Kingdom lol I’m pretty sure they have the award on lock

Don’t play it if you hate how it looks. Play BG2 maybe you’ll realise what actual 90’s games look like.
Bro, idk if we played the same game, but this game looks better than 90% of other games releasing nowadays.
Go play Red Dead 2 if thats all you care about. I’m sure you’ll love it👍
@@jazminhegyvari8286aaww fangirls can't handle others hate it cause it's overhyped.
@@DonovanGG__rd2 is actually action based and not boring checkers and chess gameplay.
