Mort. Seriously, thank you for this video. I only "listened" to it to avoid spoils (and did just a couple of skips in two sections; same reason.) Your enthusiasm and impressions around this game felt so authentic and valuable, given your experience in the genre; it felt like really high praise for this incredibly special game and what Larian set out to do with it: A massive, generational achievement. I'm currently downloading it (after ~70 in the EA) and can't wait to begin my journey as a bard in The Realms. Thank you again, Mort, for all the work you do.
My most trusted reviewer to come at it as a true gamer, no burn out and no kickbacks. An honest review, every time. I sound like an ad myself! 😄 But I do appreciate you.
Mortem, you are a gaming machine, my man. Always glad to see your content drop. Also, you should be proud. You are the sole content survivor of whom has gotten me into turn-based games. Thanks for that

My guy, do you just literally never sleep? I can't even fathom how on Earth you smash every new game without fail. I still haven't finished Final Fantasy XVI and my second playthrough of Pokémon Scarlet to prep for the DLC areas. Absolute. King. 🤝👑
Recently found out about this channel from your Starfield video… I can tell you that I haven’t been recently impressed so much by a Video Game content creator. Not because of the pace at which you complete those titles but more because of how details and yet on-point you deliver your thoughts to us. Just masterclass.
I tinkered around in the early access version and was impressed. Now, I suppose I'll finally get serious about it. It is installing on my computer right now, and I think I'll be mired in character creation this evening.
Another amazing video! I bought this at launch of early access but haven’t played it since the second or third patch, so years now. Can’t wait to dive in and see all the updates. I will say that I’m disappointed about the inventory system. That killed my play through of Div OS because I had a very difficult time finding anything in my chest and it was so difficult to tell what I should hold on to or sell. I feel like this isn’t that difficult of a fix. Just categorize every item and put them in those buckets. Like armor should be a category with gloves, boots, pants, etc then broken out under that. This way you aren’t sifting through hundreds of items trying to spot 10ish boots and then compare those. I digress. Great review!
Fantastic review! I can't believe that, despite how thorough you were, you didn't even mention the fact that the entire game can be played through in multiplayer - including two-player split-screen on the same machine, or up to four players on multiple devices. Larian really went went crazy with the amount of features they packed into this game, it's honestly mindblowing!
We cant thank you enough...you ruin a bit of your enjoyment of these games to provide these videos so soon. You deserve all the success you gut and im happy that larian acknowledged you.
I just discovered this game in late May after reading alot of good things and watching my girlfriend, who had bought it months back, play it for roughly an hour. She saw I liked it and bought it for me for an early Father's Day gift. I've ALWAYS hated turn-based games. Never saw Dungeons & Dragons as anything more than the board game the weird kids in high school played. I owe those people and this genre a MASSIVE apology. This game is AMAZING. Mind blown. The community is awesome. I've played 119 hours in 3+ weeks and just scratched the surface of Act 1. Can't wait to play again. Big shoutout to Mort for his awesome channel and incredibly detailed content and reviews. You're now one of my favorite creators online and I'm thinking about buying a gaming PC and trying this out the way it was intended. (I play now on PS5.) THANKS MORT!
Important review for this channel. Happy to be here for it. Let the content machine march forward! I would even consider doing reviews of each playthrough.
This is absolutely one of the best games of the decade. All RPG fans worldwide will adore and play this gem multiple times over and over for years to come. Thanks for the Review Mortim!
Installing now will start on the weekend, finished DOS2 last month to get my feet wet. I really enjoyed that experience, and I think this will immerse me even more. Thanks for your video.
Began watching your channel a while ago when you were close to 30k thanks to my brother's recommendation, and ever since then I've found that you are one of the most passionate and transparent reviewers I've ever seen; which makes it really easy to trust your judgement and enjoy your analysis of each aspect of a game's design. I'm also a huge fan of DIvinity Original SIn 2 and I think that was pretty much the game that sold me on this genre of games as a whole. Your love for these games and this series is present in every single one of your criticisms, and I loved every minute of the video. I'm looking forward to playing it myself soon, cheers! :D

The only negatives were inventory and Camera and some bugs. That is pretty good, It sounds like my issues with inventory have gotten fixed though with Keyrings and the supply thing. The keys in the Early Access were so annoying because they took up so much room and I didn't want to drop one I hadn't used.

Man, I'm so excited and happy the game is finally out and being well received. I'm a console gamer, so I can't wait to get this on PS5. The delay works for me, because it just allows for more bugs to be found and patched. Venture forth!
Put 50+ hours into early access in just this past week. Based on all main reviews I have been following, I am absolutely about to have no freaking life with this game! Can't wait to see how many ways fireball can solve my problems 😂

I’m almost certain that the mod community will do some improvement on the inventory. Can’t wait to play this awesome title tonight and to see all the great mods that will be created. Great work as always mort, congrats
I've spent the last 10 minutes of your review trying to think of a clever RPG-themed pun/dad-joke describing how much more hyped I am about the game ("critical hit!", "+5 to excitement") - but I couldn't find the right one. I'll just say this: great review! I purchased EA the day it went live as I'm a HUGE BG fan (lost count of how many times I've finished the campaign) - so I was already pretty excited. Your review has made me even more so (and did a nice job of distracting me from watching the Downloading Status Bar on Steam). Thanks for all the hard work
Thank to you dude. It's just a pleasure listening to you from the beginning to the very end. Never played any BG until this spring. Finished 1 with a friend and loved it. Was just about halfway through 2 in preparation for this launch when my friend I was playing with tragically passed away. So I'm not ready to pick up where we left off quite yet. But I'll finish it some day and then I'm all over this straight away.

So just a quick PSA for people that might be wondering about some of the gripes Mortismal has: I have about 70 hours in the EA with my last EA run being roughly 2 weeks ago. Currently still on the nautiloid ship (basically the tutorial section of the game). Having played the EA just 2 weeks ago the game runs, plays, looks, overall feels SIGNIFICANTLY better than my last EA run. The graphics and textures were already passable 2 weeks ago. But they took what they had and turned it up a couple of notches. Game looks gorgeous. On top of that the game RUNS far smoother than it did 2 weeks ago. Obviously Mortismal is saying here that the performance starts getting janky past the first act so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. But do note that right after you download the game there is immediately a 3GB update to the game (once you finish the full installation of the fully released game). I'm not sure if its a performance update or not. Major hopium that it is because I'm NGL I still love this game but would be bummed out if I had Mortismals experience with the game bugging/crashing. Not saying it won't happen or anything and do note its totally reasonable (it's not like Mortismal is explaining CP2077 levels of jank in this game). With that being said I do wonder if Larian kept patching out bugs after sending out the review copies on Sunday. With all that being said this game is feeling fan fucking tastic going into it right in the beginning. Don't get me wrong I loved the EA and in general love all the games these guys make (even though they can have bits in the game that are a damn mess). But going right into it, it just feels like such a polished state compared to the EA, and really any game they have made up to this point. Just feels like a solid successor and a modern CRPG. So excited to get my hands dirty in this game. Also LOVE YOU MORTISMAL. You're videos and Larians Div:OS2 are what got me into CRPGs you're coverage of CRPG's and in specific the BG series as a whole (1+2) are unmatched. Thank you so much for your input as the people covering this game and really, this genre, in a professional, accurate, and downright respectable manner, can only be counted on 1 hand. I do genuinely hope that update was a performance patch or something, because Mortismal being the professional he is (making this review for people who might be on the fence, or haven't played the EA) didn't mention how got damn sexy this game feels right out the box specifically in comparison to the EA. It just feels so damn good.
I never played anything tabletop rpg turn based before in my life and started with Solasta in August and your Solasta vids helped immensely to flatten out the steep learning curve. Only spent a couple of days on Solasta but finished Divinity: Original Sin 2 late September and in the middle of BG3 now and have been a regular watcher. Thanks for all the help! It has some Undertale vibes.
That's some Psycho Mantis stuff right there
Yeah I went to record it for the video and it took me respeccing a different character into cleric and still not receiving it to realize what happened
It's pretty cool. I was doing the (spoilers) house of hope and realized that hope's ability to use this is just a freebie for that fight to make it way easier as there are no downsides as she is a temp party member
Trending? Heck ya. I hope this brings you more subs, because you deserve it. Great review, thank you!
So happy to know you got a review copy, you deserve it for the amazing work you do!
My most trusted reviewer to come at it as a true gamer, no burn out and no kickbacks.
An honest review, every time.
I sound like an ad myself! 😄
But I do appreciate you.
"So... don't forget to drop a like and subscribe for more awesome content!"
Glad you got that review copy bud you definitely deserve that hope you had fun with it
Love the detailed initial review, can't wait to see the 100% video!
Mortem, you are a gaming machine, my man. Always glad to see your content drop. Also, you should be proud. You are the sole content survivor of whom has gotten me into turn-based games. Thanks for that
I’m so happy that you got a review copy! You put out such fantastic work and I love hearing your thoughts on these games mortim! Enjoy you’re time with the game!!
A full playthrough??? Madness
Idk if anyone else notices, but I definitely feel Mort being more excited and giddy in this video. I mean I don’t blame him, I think all of us are quite excited for this game.
I have never played anything like this game but hearing so much positive stuff about it I feel like I would be dumb not to give it a shot
It’s worth the investment
That was a wonderful overview without really spoiling or showing much we havent seen alrdy. Great job, stocked to play!
One of the few reviewers I'd trust with a cRPG today! Almost got it downloaded now and I'm stoked to play as a druid and search every nook and cranny
No you won't!!
@@blokin5039 huh?
You convinced me to go for tactician on my first playthrough
this man said let me drop a whole playthrough and edit it when came out 10 minutes ago.
in all seriousness though, hyped for the BG3 content and glad you got a review copy earlier this week. Still amazed you crushed out a whole playthrough in like 3-4 days, not unexpected at this point, I just still find it admirable
I swear by two channels for legit gaming reviews on YT. Obviously yours and ACG. Bang up job as always. Truly, thank you for your hard work, thoughtful, and thorough reviews. Mort, you are a legend. 🖤🤙🏻
i've been waiting for this game for years now !! hopefully it gets the success it deserves so we can see more developers treat there their games like this one
My guy, do you just literally never sleep? I can't even fathom how on Earth you smash every new game without fail. I still haven't finished Final Fantasy XVI and my second playthrough of Pokémon Scarlet to prep for the DLC areas.
Absolute. King. 🤝👑
Phenomenal review, the video is so well laid out and has perfect attention to detail for the newcomer. Thanks Mort!
Milestone of a game. I could feel how much it impacted you through the screen.
Halfway of listening to this review, I purchased the game on Steam. Thank u Mortis
Loving it! The coop action in particular is amazing and it runs beautifully. 11/10 Larian.
I’ve really enjoyed watching your channel grow. Thanks for all the great content and for giving so much attention to the crpg genre. You’re the man
Recently found out about this channel from your Starfield video… I can tell you that I haven’t been recently impressed so much by a Video Game content creator. Not because of the pace at which you complete those titles but more because of how details and yet on-point you deliver your thoughts to us. Just masterclass.
Wrap up had me in tears, can’t wait to play!
There's a lot of things that killed my playtrough of div os2 that people seems to not mind so I'm a bit wary of this title
YES Congrats on the review copy man. I am in fact watching this while downloading the full release lol
I appreciate the opening statements in the first 3 minutes. Thank you.
We cant thank you enough...you ruin a bit of your enjoyment of these games to provide these videos so soon.
You deserve all the success you gut and im happy that larian acknowledged you.
Trying to 100 percent this is gonna be a massive undertaking. God speed, looking forward to 100% video.
Dude, I knew this would be here immediately at launch lol. Thanks, just considering buying it and was waiting for your video!
You are such a beast. This is highly encouraging. It is probably going to take me 200 hours to get through my first playthrough...
One can always rely on you, mate. Great review!
(I play now on PS5.)
THANKS MORT!
Watching this while waiting on the game downloading. Can't wait to get started. Thanks for all you do Mort. Love your reviews.
Important review for this channel. Happy to be here for it. Let the content machine march forward! I would even consider doing reviews of each playthrough.
This is absolutely one of the best games of the decade. All RPG fans worldwide will adore and play this gem multiple times over and over for years to come. Thanks for the Review Mortim!
ok
setting aside the time to actually play this, the fact you managed to also edit it in time is midboggling. Plus just the right length of video, now that i am done watching, my download is finished, cheers :D
Can't wait to play the game, so far I'm torned between playing a lighting sorcer or a necromancer wizard, but i'm concerned about how good it'd be implemnted for a necro. Can't waitt o see your 100% as well, keep up the good work as always !
i’m so glad you got a review copy. can’t think of another youtube account that deserves it more. hope now you get to just kick back and have fun with it (not that you weren’t already)
The only negatives were inventory and Camera and some bugs. That is pretty good, It sounds like my issues with inventory have gotten fixed though with Keyrings and the supply thing. The keys in the Early Access were so annoying because they took up so much room and I didn't want to drop one I hadn't used.
Man i remember seeing this guys channel when he had like 100 subs, that seems like almost a long time as bg 3 was in developement! well done man and thanks for all the rpg updates
Man, I'm so excited and happy the game is finally out and being well received. I'm a console gamer, so I can't wait to get this on PS5. The delay works for me, because it just allows for more bugs to be found and patched. Venture forth!
Omg omg omg omg it’s here!!!! I kept waking last night I had so much anticipation. Friday cleared. Weekend cleared. We good to go.
Put 50+ hours into early access in just this past week.
Based on all main reviews I have been following, I am absolutely about to have no freaking life with this game! Can't wait to see how many ways fireball can solve my problems 😂
Still... downloading...
I've been with Larian since day 1! I've been saying for the past few years that Baldur's Gate 3 would be as close to perfect as any game could be. Glad to see them getting the recognition they deserve, and this was a fantastic video. Well done!
Imagine looking for a review to a crpg anywhere else.
Your channel has been constantly growing over the years and it’s well deserved.
Glad to see this review up. Was waiting to hear your thoughts on it
Oh my goodness is it finally time for the full release?! Also looking forward to your character breakdown of the Monk
Thanks for the video. Congratulations on the copy. You enthusiasm was pretty infectious. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.
Great review!
Nice to hear that the channel seems to get the recognition from developers (at least one) it deserves
Unbelievable. Already did a full playthrough and gives a quality reveal too.
I’m almost certain that the mod community will do some improvement on the inventory. Can’t wait to play this awesome title tonight and to see all the great mods that will be created.
Great work as always mort, congrats
Larian has put a ban on modding this game so..🤷♀️
Kinda makes it unplayable to me that they’re doing this to the modding community
Thanks for all the hard work
Damn, you sir are one HELL of a content creator! Well done 🎉
Thank to you dude. It's just a pleasure listening to you from the beginning to the very end. I like to think we're very similiar, we like to play games in the best possibile way and we enjoy doing it for so many genre (for me are any, but sport and cars). If I was to open a YT Channel it would be really similiar to yours, even tho your will to play relentlessly everything to 100% without ever stopping makes you really inhuman (in a positive way, don't worry). I'm really glad you succeeded with this channel, you deserve it. Cheers!
Been watching your videos these past few weeks in anticipation for the release and the day is finally here! Really appreciate your honest opinions about the game and the content you have put out. Happy gaming dude!
Crazy seeing you go from a relatively unknown UA-camr to the #1 search result when searching 'Baldur's Gate 3.'
Well deserved!!
290k veiws, nice :)
This is a great video and a representation of hard work paying off. I was pretty confident this channel would blow up.
I'm somehow not shocked that you managed to finish the game this early.
Thanks for the review Mort! :D
I refreshed SO MANY TIMES and this video took forever to come up! Downloading as I type!
That guy just went back and forth in time to hit us with an early review. True dedication
Lovely review . You could feel his love , passion and drive for the series. Most of the reviews constantly compared it with DOS 2 but his is more diverse . Maybe even more in depth. Keep up the good work
A glorious day for nerds across the world. Thanks for the hard work Morty
Fantastic video! Thank you! Here's hoping this game is a huge hit for Larian Studios! I'll be playing this game right after work today. Can't wait!
The review I was waiting for, great as always
I really enjoyed how you mad 35 minute + video and said “I’m not gonna get into that” over and over. Thrilling and insightful 😂
So just a quick PSA for people that might be wondering about some of the gripes Mortismal has:
I have about 70 hours in the EA with my last EA run being roughly 2 weeks ago.
So many channels are full of hyperbole I like how you’re so even keeled in your commentary. Cheers.
And yeah, that camera bug is so annoying.
It also takes so much time to loot and barter all the items off.
