We love ya, man, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your unique voice is appreciated. I’m really glad to know that it was D20 Nelson and Tonee that encouraged you - all workaholics like you. I did enjoy hearing your backstory and the thoughts behind your approach. Thanks for all you do - remember that it’s what YOU get out of doing this that matters most. And it seems like you’ve gotten some great friendships out of it - that’s wonderful. Would love to see LOTR content, I honestly didn’t know you’d done any so I’ll be going back to that stuff. Also kind of nuts that I jumped into Marvel right when you, Nelson and D20 were ramping up and Tonee was stepping back. You 3 really are carrying the torch!
Thank you so much Josh! Yep a lot of us content creators have become friends but it was those guys (and Board Game Lawyer played a role as well and I’m sad I forgot to mention him) that gave me the courage and the tips to get moving! And yes they are indeed workaholics lol, which I think is something I’ve tried to emulate and keep up with but I think it’s time to let them win that race 😂 I only did a few LotR videos and I was definitely still figuring out my sound back then so be warned lol, but I had a lot of fun getting to know Dragn cards and checking out the revamped content. I want to simulate the currently available card pool and see what it’s like tackling Angmar Awakened with fewer cards on hand. It sounds really hard to me so I’m curious to experience what new players are getting themselves into! Hey yeah that’s kind of funny, we’re all coming up together!
Most communities are broken up into 20% of people that will turn on the leader the first time they do one thing they don’t like, 60% that will follow on and off but just kinda stick around, and 20% that will stick with the leader through thick and thin. I feel like the community you’ve grown is much more like 0%, 20%, and 80%! We all love your content and will be here waiting for our notification for the next video no matter how long it takes. Take care of yourself and your family, that’s what we care most about!
Wow thank you so much Michael. This comment made me tear up a little lol. Partially because it’s overwhelmingly kind, but also because I think it’s true. I’ve always felt so blessed by the kindness of everyone who watches my channel and leaves comments like this. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Great Video! Congratulations to you and the wifey. Completely understandable about the present situation and family should always come first. Kind of in a similar situation in terms of work and school is out for my kids as well for the summer. Which means creating more memories for the summer such as eating good foods, watching movies, visiting cool places, and playing awesome boardgames. I do like the variety of games you cover in addition to MC. It's always nice to see on your channel. I speak for myself, but I rather you dish out content at your own pace and convenience for the longevity of the channel and your health. Life happens and it's understandable.
Your work is super appreciated. But your sanity/health/life balance/actually-having-fun-playing-games is all more important than content delivery. Keep the main things in life the main thing.
You always gotta take care of yourself and family first. No shame in that. Don't stress over the channel too much - we'll be here for whatever you put out.
You’re doing great! No pressure from me. I just enjoy your work. Also, shout out to the stuffed Bluey in the background! What a great show. As a fellow dad (also with my second child on the way), I relate to Bandit quite a bit. I also just have to say that I have major respect for you putting faith and family first. And, thank you for being open about that.
Hey congratulations! Haha yeah we love Bluey around here. I feel like I’ve learned so much from Bandit 😆 Thank you for the kind words! And yeah always gotta be up front about Who and what’s really important right? 😀
We love your content, man. Hope life allows you to do things you love like interacting with the community. Blessings to you and your family. Looking forward to what the future will bring!
Josh this was an awesome video. I loved listening to you talk through your life and what’s going on in the real world. I can tell ya that finding your videos has really engaged me in playing marvel champions. There are some days I just watch your videos while I play my own game of MC! Take your time on the content and I’ll still be here. Your fears about people unsubscribing are real, many UA-camrs struggle with that fear, but the people who love your channel aren’t going anywhere. Thanks for the update man. Let us know if you need anything.
Thanks so much buddy, I really appreciate it. I’m always so happy to hear when my stuff gets people to play the game more 😁 And thanks as well for the support! It means so much to have people out there I know I can always count on to be here 🙏☺️
Thanks for the update. It's always good to hear from you and that you and the family are doing well. Most importantly you need to be happy and enjoy producing the content and enjoy playing the games you are showcasing. LotR's will be great to show off too. Looking forward to seeing how you get on and your content 👍
Thanks so much buddy! I’m really looking forward to it too. I think having a more measured pace and the comfort of a backlog will make for an even more enjoyable experience for me and better videos in the long run!
Your channel is fantastic and I'm glad I found it all those months ago. This might be a weird take but I actually find it hard to keep up with all the videos all the great content creators put out for Marvel Champions - and so if the amazing content you put out slows down? For what it's worth, I'll probably watch a higher percentage of your videos because it will be a bigger/rarer event I'll want to make time for. Right now I know I can't keep up with everything from everyone so it's much easier to just let videos slip by. I don't know too much about the current monetization of youtube but I guess it's not a ton for the level of views MC content seems to bring in - which is another way of saying I imagine you mostly do it for the love of the game - which shows! But to me, it also means it's especially important that it remains fun for you and not a chore, source of stressful pressure, or source of guilt for spending time on it. So I would absolutely say go at whatever pace is best for you and don't worry about us lot watching. If you're in a good place and enjoying it, we'll be here and we'll enjoy it too. And at the end of the day, as much as I absolutely adored Tonee's content, he did what was right for him by stepping back and sometimes people need a break. If it ever gets too much for you and you need a full-on break or truly retire from things, I would 110% support it. Sometimes I think content creators feel as if they owe people something (and that was definitely the case for me when I used to stream video games), but it's you sinking hundreds of hours in off your own initiative. You don't owe anyone, we're the ones that are lucky to have you. Slower pace? Not a problem. Need a break? Send me a postcard! ;) I could go on, but if you have less free time nowadays then I might need to rein in my novel-length comments! Thanks for the update and congratulations!
Thank you so much for all the kind words! Haha please never stop leaving these long comments! 😂 I super appreciate everyone’s understanding. And yeah there’s definitely an element of feeling like I owe people certain things, or not wanting to let people down. But supportive comments like this have really given me the confidence that this is the right thing to do, and I’m even more excited for the future of the channel! 😁
FYI, those Marvel United unboxing videos were pretty handy during the Marvel United Multiverse Kickstarter a few months back. Helpful to decide which reprints were worth getting.
Man, I've come close to seriously considering starting my own channel for MC content because of how much I enjoy the game. I had the crazy idea of doing it from the aspect of a SHIELD agent doing analysis of the heroes and villains in slick stylistic fashion.I keep looking at the time investment and monetary investment (camera, etc), and I just can't bring myself to do it ... and my kids have almost all graduated high school! I can't fathom doing a channel with little ones around and on the way! More power to you! Of course, I'd never considered myself all that interesting or possess the deck building skills of Steve Kimmell , Tonee, and VillainTheory who I've learned greatly from :) I'm glad you've arrived on the scene to fill the void that Tonee left though, and I appreciate your thoughts on the game! Thanks for the peek behind the curtain though of how much time you've spent on your content. The closest I've gotten to sharing content is on BGG with my work on progress hero list - boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/286402/doxalogos-marvel-champions-hero-breakdown-geeklist which I'm six heroes behind in breaking down and completely revamping my villain list behind the scenes.
Maybe you should give it a try! It’s honestly a lot easier than I ever thought it would be. If you have a smart phone then you have all the camera you need. I really didn’t spend that much on the equipment I did need to buy: a couple lights, a Boom arm, a cheap lapel mic that plugs into my phone. Editing software should be free, and all the free education you need is out there on UA-cam. I didn’t know the first thing about how to do this when I started, and then I was shocked at how easy it really can be. And you don’t need to be a master of anything really, deck building or otherwise. I feel like I got by on pretty much enthusiasm alone lol. We all bring something unique! I’ve been seeing your comments on Bgg for years but I’ve never seen this geek list. So cool!
Life first mate. Concentrate on your family (congrats on your 2nd baby) and life. To quote John Lennon (I think) "Life is what happens while you're making other plans" That's more important than keeping a bunch of people with FAR to much time on their hands that they can watch UA-cam videos about one of their favourite games. As your fellow Americans would say "You do you". Us fans can wait. I'm very excited about more LOTR LCG content. I love that game. Look after yourself and your family. Don't worry about us.
Thank you so much Ragnot! I always very much appreciate your kind words and support ☺️ I’m happy to hear that some people are excited for LotR! Im very excited to be digging back into it 😀

I’ve flirted with burnout a couple times and I definitely want to avoid it. Finding the new balance might be tricky but it’s very worth it! Dude I’m so excited to see what Deadpool looks like. I’m not even that into the character, but I strongly suspect they’ve saved the best for last and Tony has done something truly awesome with him Thank you so much for the offer of help! If there’s anything I can think of I’ll be sure to reach out!
That beard is getting AGGRESSIVE! JK man! You're doing great! Even when you're not hitting us with the great gimmicks, you're filling your videos with great content! How about a video series about the toddlers? :P More seriously, I just want to point out that as long you don't pressure yourself to make more content just to make more views and please the audience, we'll be happy. You have a life, don't burn yourself out for views/viewers/etc. As long you enjoy making videos, people will keep watching your content. That's something it's easy to hear/see as a viewer. And if it means you making less content and/or more diverse content, go for it! We have one life to live: it must be fun without pressure or burden, especially when it comes to our hobbies!
Hahaha I really should! Thank you for the wise advice. And you’re right, I’ve gotta make sure everything I’m doing is because I enjoy it and it meets my primary goals which are to have fun and make content that people will find enjoyable or helpful. The minute I start making videos just because I think they’ll do well but don’t serve those other two goals then I’m in trouble lol
First of all, congratulations on that second child coming up. If you're busy now, I think that's gonna change real soon 😂. But yeah, family always comes first, we'll be here, so don't put too much pressure on yourself.

@@GetUpandGame joking aside great video the retrospective is good gave me some insight on what I’m doing. And where I want to go as well. Maybe time to rethink my approach or maybe just leave it to the professionals. Like you time is my biggest weakness and my issue is my content dosent seem to appeal to many people. Just look at the villains beyond. Original idea and yet less and less people watch so it’s hard to keep up with content that dosent hit the mark.
Dude, we appreciate all you do! Keep the great content coming, at whatever pace works for you and your family. We'll be here to support ya.
Thank you so much!
