I own the OD 200. To get tons of quality OD sounds at $249 is insane. If my budget was unlimited, sure, I'd get the individual pedals. I promise you no one at a venue knows or cares what your pedal board is if you play well. Well worth the money and the options.
I’m planning to get a OD-200 so thanks a lot for this demonstration :) In my opinion in a band situation it wouldn’t be any difference and the best way to tell if someone can recognize the difference is a double blind test. This is the ultimate test and it was failed by many audio professionals when it was designed to show if someone can actually hear any differences between audio sources.
really useful video, the fact that you get a very close to the original pedals is enough for me. im looking forward to getting mine and setting it up and being able to recall all my settings from song to song, rather than always bending down and changing the gains and volumes different songs.
I really needed a new tube amp so instead I bought a Marshall Jubilee reissue combo.Great amp I totally recommend.I tried the pedal out and it was super good for sure
find this video. oh my god..... it's not just a comparing video... but also a great documentation of how the parameters should be for the od 200 users.....
@@LeoGibsonGtr ya..I just found you I think about 1 or 2 weeks ago from a suggestion of a friend of mine. Since then, I subscribed because I like how detail you go for each review n comparison. Of course, I hope you can do even better. Thank you 🙏
I own a tube screamer and the Boss OD 200. The tube screamer always has more “noise” than boost. Lack of boost and abundance of “noise” from the Ibanez always bothered me.
Hi Wabi, thank you for your message! As far as I know you can not, but you can add a boost pre or post ... with boost and overdrive you are gonna have a lot of gain!!! thank you for your interest in my channel!
Close your eyes and listen to the pedals again and i bet you won't notice any difference in "dinamyc". Actually, in my opinion "dinamyc" is a thing that you feel when you play a pedal more than hearing it. So that's why most of the guitarists prefer analog pedals than digital processors but for the audience there will exist no difference. So is hard to me to believe that your perception is so accurate that you felt the pedals being dynamically different. Maybe your eyes said that to you and not your ears but I respect your opinion. Cheers from Brazil.
Hi, new here. Your video was a great help. I'm had most of the classics Boss od,ds1, pro co rat, tubescreamers and so on. My problem has been all the noise that you get from classic vintage pedals and as soon as you put a noise gate in the chain I find that I kills the sound or take out the life and personality of the pedal. So for a guy like me who wants ds1, OD, heavey metal, blues driver and a tube screamer , I think the OD200 my be the one or is it better to buy the originals? Cheers
I can vouch for the od 200 being very good and tweakable for subbing for other pedals/tones that I like to use. I'm not a huge metal guy so I won't vouch for the metal zone or the quality of any of the really high gain modes. It would have been nice to include a Rat type of pedal mode and a Rangemaster type of booster if they could have but I'm not picky too much. The screamer and klon klone are great, I personally also love the Boss Blues Driver, OD, Distortion and the Stack Drive modes which have very usable low to mid gain to mid-high tones. Great to set up presets and change tones on the fly and the eq is very powerful on this guy too.
Very subjective stuff. Be it the od200, or most other modelling methods, being 95 to 99% close is fine and easily outweighed by the fact you have presets and individual control over so many parameters. Instant recall and better organization plus eliminating entirely needing to tweak knobs on several drive pedals and actually powering and troubleshooting any patch cable issues all disappear. Live it is one thing and a lot gets trampled in the mix. Recording you may want the originals and midi loop switchers for the convenience of rearranging your pedal order. In more adapted situations modellers will offer far better routing options and running drives in parallel here is a truly excellent thing
Thank you! I'm pretty curious, also because I've never tried a novation peak: do you think the novation peak has some sounds similar to the one of a distorted guitar? Thank you for your message and your interest in my channel !!!

Not really that rock n roll though is it? I mean all that fiddling around with expensive equipment in order to determine which one sounds most um rock n roll? Would you even bring this gear to CBGBS, the Hope and Anchor, or whatever or would you worry about whether it was gonna get stolen?
I compared od-200 with many analog drive pedals. My conclusio is od-200 is good and may be better than original pedals in some aspects. only annoying thing is the display that do not show levels for saved patches.
