I love ya man! You have the same sound taste that I have. 😸When I was in my 30s in college I had access to the recording studio whenever I wanted it because I volunteered as a studio assistant. So I was able to bring in different bands and musicians and Mic the instruments and vocalists up, record them on a 24 track analog tape and then mix it down on the console. I hate it when people put you down for the effects you give your opinion on that aren’t so great. You’re spot on dude, I don’t think they can hear what you can hear. You are a true professional when it comes to sound. You are also so humble to people that can be such critical smart asses. I watch you a lot because I’m in the market for good sound effects pedal that will CHUG on a low budget. You are my go to guitarist/sound man now. Thank you for sharing this on UA-cam. 💕
Interesting that you mention Exodus 'Fabulous Disaster' album, that is one of my all time fave albums for guitar tones. Any particular distortion setting in the video that reminds you of 'Fabulous Disaster'? Otherwise, overall I heard a few distortion settings in the video that I liked and sound good for chugs, sounds like the OD-200 is a neat piece of gear.

As far as what Exodus set-up was those days, I believe it was 80's Marshalls boosted by Maxon OD pedals (actually re-branded Tube Screamers since Maxon manufactured the Ibanez ones too)
I picked one of these up the other day when my original intent was to get the MD-200, and have been loving this thing every day since. It can chug, but it can drive and do so much more once you start clicking and turning that Parameter knob. The MD-200 has to wait another couple of weeks.
That thing is amazing, does just about every type of distortion you would ever want for $250. Ola has reviewed other pedals that were as much as $400 that didn't do as much. It literally chugs ten different ways til Sunday.
this pedal looks and sounds amazing. love the range of options with all the features i think i'd want in one. i'll keep my eye out for one or one like it some day

Yes, good albums have definitely been made with Boss pedals and we don't mind, but there's a bunch of great albums with both shitty sounding gear and generally shit sound that still kicks ass. The two are not mutually exclusive, even if we have preferences.
Ola is the only one to convince me yet that I would buy this just to try, if you want to just learn play and pacify yourself this and an amp is all you’d need for a long time if you’re just starting out

Today is truly a Happy Helloween. I woke up to this pedal waiting for me at my front door. Had set it so a signature was required but the fedex guy signed it himself. It was sitting there over an hour before i saw it was "delivered", so glad no one stole it. I can now retire my 20-ish year old rack fx unit. Haven't gotten the exact tone i have in my head so decided to watch this video for possibly the third or fifth time. Got some tetrising to do to find out where it likes to sit on my board. Sure hope i can get it where i want it.

Very versatile amp modeler, chugs in all gears - cool! I’m with Ola in that you can get pretty decent lead-sounds out of it, also 🙂. An aside: This particular Solar is the prettiest guitar you’ve used. Medium stained, dark hardware - all grown-up, but still rocks hard 😁!
glancing at the manual, it looks like any one of those options can be used as a boost into any other option. so it's like 2 of these things in one box. that's SO many sounds.
It took awhile but Boss's digital stuff no longer sucks. Old COSM models were garbage except maybe for reamping. Feel, or lack thereof, like the original POD.
I enjoyed the video. I have one of these pedals. I play in a completely different style, but there are a ton of different sounds in this pedal, as you quickly discovered. I think this pedal is no joke.

They are very different. TS cuts bass and treble, is very compressed and smooth and lets the clean signal through. Blues Driver lets (almost) all frequencies through and has a very rough and sharp distortion, and a LOT more distortion on tap. Also, it does not let the clean signal through. I much prefer the TS, for a boost anyway, I did not at all like blues driver except with the tone almost all the way down.

Really liked you adding some MotU riffs and leads to your usual chugging. Both refreshing and more refined. Don't get me wrong, I love the chugging, but your solo album is as tasty as my grand ma's cooking!
What'll really blow your mind is that all of those distortion/overdrive settings are exactly the same distortion but each turn of the knob just sets the base EQ to different parameters.
Solar a1.6c is literally perfection to me that's my dream guitar... I'm getting ready to buy my first guitar since ola has made me wanna start learning to play but I'll hopefully save up and get one one day lol

Ola is the living proof that your tone comes from your fingers. Everything he gets his hands on sounds metal. I always wanted my guitar tone to be like a mix of lemons and honey and that's what I got 🍯...
uhm, no... that's not what it means... if it was true, all the pros would be using the cheapest gear possible. Coz the tone comes from the fingers anyway. What it means is that there are things which are in your control as a player, namely: how you pick and how fret. Articulation doesn't come from gear. But the articulation style is integral to a player's "sound".

Hey Ola, I gave BOSS this dual drive config. They named it HYBRID. I was in January that I sent it. According to their sales, this might rush the GT 2000 with this and more. I still have 2 more inventions.
If I was starting fresh, I would buy this. Good sounds, massively versatile, and Boss quality. Also the 200 series could be used to make a small incredibly powerful pedalboard. £220 each. Do it🌴

These distortions are all featured in the tone editor for the Boss Katana, so this is basically a Katana in a box, minus the effects.
Exactly right. Most if not all are also featured in the Boss GT series multi-FX units.

I was actually just checking the od-20, so I thought for a second this was the od-20 as well....
the od-20 even has a hm2 and a mt2 setting...

Does everybody have to agree it chugs just because it's Ola???? :-) I should think not. Boss put the hurt into that pedal. Sounds killer. Reminds me of Boss's older pedal the OS-2. Overdrive/Distortion. But better. Nice!

Hey Ola, I gave BOSS this dual drive config. They named it HYBRID. I was in January that I sent it. According to their sales, this might rush the GT 2000 with this and more. I still have 2 more inventions.
If I was starting fresh, I would buy this. Good sounds, massively versatile, and Boss quality. Also the 200 series could be used to make a small incredibly powerful pedalboard. £220 each. Do it🌴
