I just binged Toradora maybe 6 or 7 days ago and it was the first anime to ever give me that "post anime depression/emptiness" that I hear so many people talk about. It now holds such a special place in my heart. I tried binging a bunch of anime I've never seen to try to fill that hole. But Toradora taught me things about myself. Cuz I may be a guy but I'm ALOT like Taiga, I have always hid my true self so much so that I dont understand my own feelings anymore. Toradora taught me alot and I honestly cant explain with my known vocabulary with how much I adore Toradora, the only word I can think of is I *genuinely love Toradora* and I usually dont like romantic animes.
You're not the only one, friend. Started it last Wednesday, finished it a day after, and I still can't stop thinking about it. Those, in my opinion, are the best kinds of anime. The ones that you know are gonna stick with you for a long time.
I can relate to some of this. I first watched Toradora about a month ago and I loved it. I was hooked by the first episode and by the end I thought it was so good, I also felt that "post anime depression/emptiness". Like with you, Toradora was the first anime to have this effect on me. It's definitely one of my favorite anime series.
ima dude too and taiga was so relatable bc of her parents and her “act”. and the christmas arc is my favorite arc in anime and it has so many scenes that made me cry and it’s weird bc i don’t ever cry no matter what

I can't get over Toradora's soundtrack, literally listening to any of the tracks on their makes me remember all the scenes connected to them. That's how you know it's a good soundtrack.
Easily one of my top animes simply because of it’s relatability. My heart felt so heavy after each episode.
Glad to see there are those who enjoy this anime as much as I do. Although I always feel melancholic at the end... don't want to spoil for those who have not watched it yet. Toradora is a great anime in both sub and dub, and would say is my personal favourite anime, along with Boko no hero and Shakugan no shana.

@@z-kun5528 I found it sad because they missed a whole year. It doesn't matter to me at least that they get back to each other by the end, it's that they lost something forever. It's something the resonates with me, and is also why Your Name is my favorite anime, because it left me crying for 2 hours. That also kinda lowered Toradora's impact tho...
Toradora is easily my favorite anime I just want a after story, like Clannad. Since Toradora already has a OVA.

Toradora and Clannad are my jam when it comes to anime drama... These two hits your emotions hard!!! I've watched them both, rewatched them both, and I've learned that in terms of story and progression these two anime hits the right notes... Characters are relatable, story is... In a way very life-like, everything about these two just works for me!!! And I love them both.

Every time I think of this show my heart just tells me to rewatch it, and listen to the ops and the eds. I just can't stop thinking of all the characters.
Thank you for making this video. While it's a popular show, there are very few people who've talked about it well on UA-cam and it deserves so much praise for what it accomplished in 25 episodes. I've watched this series 5 times and it's easily my favorite shows. Each time I watch it there's always some interesting new dynamic that I notice, or I come to understand a character on an even deeper level. I actually have a difficult time watching it now because of how emotional I get due to the strong empathetic connection with all of the characters, Taiga especially. Every action is so carefully considered in the show. I can feel Taiga's isolation when she's acting happy, I can feel Ryuji's vague insecurity when he's trying to fool himself. I've never found a show that has more human characters

Toradora is an amazing anime, and will always be my favourite. It seems so underrated in my opinion and I wish people would watch it more.
There is so much that I can relate to in this anime, and it's something that changed my thinking on life. I hold this anime close to my heart.

Toradora was the first shojou-y anime I ever watched. It was so good I must say it spoiled me for all the other ones I've seen so far that are really hyped up like Ao Haru Ride or something. Toradora was bomb!

I just watched this show for the first time. Holy crap, it's incredible. I know I'm on a high of just finishing it so it may be too soon to tell, but this might actually be my favorite anime. They could have easily made a show with standard, cookie cutter, super basic characters and made a simple love story that everyone would have forgotten in a year, but instead, they went the extra mile to create some of the most multi-dimensional characters I've ever seen. One thing I've noticed, though...Every single character in the main cast is all different variations on the same theme. The theme of tricking yourself into making it seem to others that nothing is wrong, having the pressure from that lie build up, and everything crashing down on you. Taiga is extremely emotional but instead of talking to people about her problems, she'd rather lash out in anger or violence. Ryuji wants his version of what's best for Taiga, which is why he's so obsessive about caring for her, even though he really just wants to be with her. Yukasu pretended to like being in the student council when he really just wanted to get together with the president. Ami was so used to impressing the public as a model that she needed someone to break her out of that idea. Yasuko wants her son to have the best life possible, which is why she overworks herself even though she's anemic. And Minorin (AKA THE BEST CHARACTER) has the most demanding responsibilities between her jobs and softball, yet forces herself to act happy and make the best of the situation even though that usually just drains her further. And what's better is that there's no clear-cut moral to this theme. For some characters, like Minorin and Yasuko, the masking of their problems benefits them because it motivates them to keep going, while for most characters, it ends up destroying them until they can be honest about themselves to the world.
Haha, now that I've gotten you to read that entire paragraph, time to give my controversial opinion! If you've just seen the sub, go back and watch the dub, because it's ten times better. It's a lot of subtle things like Ami's inflection changing more when she's honest, Taiga not being as frail, and seeing the characters' expressions as they speak during high-drama sakuga moments, but it adds up. Also, for some reason, the subtitles that I saw were full of a lot of unnecessary swearing that didn't make sense for the characters, and the dialogue in the dub is just better written in general.

Love your comment! I do not yet know if I would say the dub is better, but since I have rewatched it twice in the dub and am considering a third, you might be on to something. Either way the dub is great and captures the characters so well

I love both of these videos, but I always appreciate like-minded, in depth break downs of this show. I've seen Toradora so many times that I stopped keeping count, but I've never gone into the show analytically so every time I notice new things and gain new appreciation. But every review (aside from this one and the one I linked) seem to think that Clannad > Toradora and completely miss the entire purpose of the show which is just a tragedy

I just finished rewatching Toradora, and it is just as good, if not better than I remember. There is a reason beyond just nostalgia that this Anime is in my top three favorites.
Just watched toradora i freaking loved it never seen it until this year which im kicking myself for easily 1 of the best animes ive ever seen and the Christmas episode has 1 of the most tear jerking heart breaking scenes ive personally seen in a anime i teared up there loved taiga awesome video keep it up

Toradora is one of those shows I was spectacle about until I started watching it and it instantly became one of my favorite anime shows, the story is very good and made me cry at the end, I wish there was more and thought it came out recently but after looking deep into it and finding out it was made in 2008 I was shocked because I thought they'd make a season 2 as a continuation but regardless the ending fitted very well with the story.
This is my first time ever commenting on a UA-cam video; I felt like I had to just say thank you for making such a wonderful video on what is easily my favorite anime of all time. I first watched this anime when I was around 10 or 11 and just recently re-watched it this December, and I have been extremely happy to come back see that people still care about a twelve year-old anime. I loved this video and I HAD to subscribe after finishing it. Thank you
Watching someone talk about something they are passionate about is always great, this video is really good and after watching it i can say that this video says a lot of things i was thinking
it's really sad there won't be a season 2. they completed everything in the one season. I loved it! I kinda wished they dragged it out so we could see even more character progression and funny-side episodes like the extra in between the main story arcs. the ending was planned out quite well but I don't think they should have not put the post end scene cus many people didn't see it. (search up Toradora ending post cred scene if you haven't.) and instead made one more episode where taiga comes back and we see that she's fixed her family problems. It's always gonna be on my list of best animes I've watched by a long shot. one of the first romance anime that has made me tear up.

exactly a masterpiece in drama as you will get hooked up after watching first episode and they have the perfect ending of every romance anime as they explained every plot in this anime. 10/10 would watch it again. Also, it's quite surprising that i don't hate any main cast in this anime

I've rewatched Toradora for the first time in years, and discovered so many things I didn't notice the first times. I've been binging all sorts of analytical videos, and many just repeat the same things, but I really like the way you brought up the style of the narrative itself, i.e. telling the character's stories backwards. I haven't seen anyone else mention that aspect of why it's such an interesting watch before, and honestly hadn't even considered it myself, but it makes a whole lotta sense

People who don't like tsunderes will despise of this anime because the main character (Taiga) is. If you've watched Vampire Knight (ALSO, 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND VAMPIRE KNIGHT) it's kinda hard to not think how close the people who made this movie so much alike to Yuki Cross (Main character of Vampire Knight) but they perfected Taiga in my opinion. Every character in this anime are so lovable and the people who made this took so much time to give a good amount of character development to each and every one. This was very nice because a lot of anime's, you may notice that they shine the spotlight on the main character which is okay but you gotta make sure that you make every character in the anime have some appeal. Also, character development is very good because if something happens to another character you won't have much sympathy for them.. Toradora! on the other hand really makes you feel for each character!! This anime is incredible and I really recommend it to anyone who is into romantic anime's! (and okay with tsunderes ofc).

Full metal Alchemist brotherhood is still my favorite anime and one of my favorite shows but I just watched this and it's one of the fee shows I binged. It's amazing. I've never seen an anime with such clever writing and that actually understands what love is. I feel like there are episodes that touch everyone's own personality. Every episode brings something out of use and makes us feel a type of way.
i legitimately think i will always considered this my favorite anime, I've seen so many pieces of art, I honestly do consider the VN Saya No Uta the best piece of art that has ever been created, but I still love toradora more, it's probably because of the drama, the Charachters, and the biggest piece is Taiga Aisaka, who actually smit me much more than anybody has ever due to her sense of suffering, this show has influenced almost all of my current authorial art pieces in some way, I want to make something that I will like more than Toradora, the only real piece that i am currently working on that doesn't have that much toradora influence is influenced most heavily by Saya No Uta. Toradora was the show that made me want to become an author and if it wasn't for this show I would not being on the current path I am on.

For those who wants to watch anime i highly recommend you guys to watch credits of the last episode cause thats reaaaaaaaaaally important for those who watched toradora but didnt watch the credits, go watch it
Too many people missed that scene and think that the ending is more bittersweet than what it actually is. Maybe add an extended epilogue of them sitting around eating with Ryuji's mom or something.

My personal favorite is Love Chunibyo and Other Delusions. I love the characters and I love the story. Season 1 and the movie are easily my favorite anime things ever.
It leaves a hole in my heart. The only way I can fill it is by starting again from ep. 1.

Ryuji is the person that taiga needed in her life as everyone left her she had minori but that was it, so when someone came around and took care of her like that she felt cared about and eventually realized ryuji is the one she needs. Also ryuji was one of the only people who made her truly happy and a person she really opened up to.
Now for ryuji It was because taiga was his world and his father was never in his life so he wants to be like that for taiga, also minori wouldn't have worked minori was hiding her true self so he never actually liked the real her.
I think they worked out well as taiga needed ryuji in her life, and ryuji wanted to be that person in taigas life. In the end they both are helping each other out and will overcome there problems together and they will give there everything to each other.
That's emotional dependence, not love.

This show reminds me of Love Hina. It's very similar with the physical abuse and iconic ending after the 3 movies.
Probably the first anime where I just didn't read through any spoilers. Every episode just made me feel complete and I just had a feeling I would enjoy it more if I watched it through then spoiling it for myself. No regrets man.

SPOILER SORTA: I just finished the entire season in two days and I liked it very much. I wish there was another season but I think it probably wouldn’t work as all the characters are pursuing their own lives and moving away. It makes the show even more emotional. When people grow up, they normally grow away from their friends. Now I have to find a new show to make me happy until it ends and I get depressed.

I'm here to say my idea or my opinion what season 2 toradora ep 1 should be in my opinion
Now if we take a look at last eps season 1 on toradora ryuuji and taiga just got back
My idea on th start of season 2 ep 1
Is that ryuuji and taiga are talking and minori outside of the school she will see taiga and ryuuji talking
Minori will run as fast as she could to go to taiga since she missed taiga so much
The other classmates will notice minori
Some of them will follow minori
Minori go to the room and saw taiga
Minori will cry a bit and run to taiga and hug her
The other classmates will see taiga and cry
And say "we miss you tiger" and they rush to taiga and try to hug her
Taiga will be schock and say "hey get off of me you guys are about to squish me"
Ryuuji looks at taiga and made a happy smile
After that
Minori and taiga and ryuuji will talk as they walk to there home
Talking about how much they miss her and how much things changed
On the way home minori will go home first
After that
Ryuuji and taiga go to ryuujis home
At there home
Yasuko takasu (ryuuji mom)
Will see taiga and rush to hug her
Takasu will say how much she miss taiga
Now on the living room at the table
Taiga and ryuuji will talk
Ryuuji will ask some questions to taiga like
"So how things are going"
Taiga : "well it was nice I'm still tryna getting along with my mom though "
Ryuuji : "oh, how about to the school you got transferred?"
Taiga : " it's a nice school you shchool really I made some friends at the school "
Ryuuji : "that's great!"
Both smiled happily
And scene :))
