Depends if you want to tweak. The Pro is has a more adjustable tonearm allowing it to be set perfectly for a wide range of cartridges. If you’re happy enough to stick with carts like the 2M range or similar the Evo is perfectly fine and saves you money. Both the Pro and Evo 2 share the same plinth, same motor, same platter same tonearm bearing and same feet apart from the nickel plating.
Changing the felt mat to the cork one or going from the steel platter to the acrylic one has no effect on the VTA so long as you use the official Pro-Ject parts. The company has put a fair bit of thought into this.
I have a Planar 3 rs and I'm delighted with it but if I won an Evo I'd be perfectly happy for many years. I get annoyed with brand fanboys. They'd be better getting off the internet and spin some records.
Is the Acryl it platter compatible with the evo 2?
Very nice review, i think i put my old T1 for a upgrade.

Adding a cork matt or acrylic platter requires the tone arm to be shimmed at the VTA is way off. Not a nice experience at all.

Debut Pro B is more comparable to the P3 RS.
