    I finally, FINALLY understand the connection between food and disease. I recently had my first-ever bout of diverticulitis that landed me in the ER. Going on a liquid diet and now introducing bland, non-inflammatory foods very gradually, I've noticed that not only has the abdominal pain lessened, but also the stiffness and pain from my psoriatic arthritis is disappearing as if I had taken a potent pain med. Wait, what??? Even the psoriasis lesions on my skin are fading out, and it's the middle of winter! My HANDS are clear! I'm 66 and have suffered these conditions for decades. They wanted to give me antibiotics and narcotics (along with other invasive procedures). 😡I declined both and I'm not taking anything else. It's what I eat. It's systemic inflammatory disease. All of it. It's caused by what I eat. OMG. This is utterly life changing. A Christmas Miracle.

    In short, don't eat over processed dreck. If you do...make sure you have a real good liver and kidneys. Sockeye Salmon IS the choice. Eat pasta like they do in 🇮🇹, garlic butter rather than with tomato source. Color on your plate are significant. That Reservatrol in wine is the answer.

    Thank you, Dr. Weil ✨️ !

    As someone who has been strugling with high levels of inflamation for decades,I find this video to be pretty on point and alligned with what I learned about dieting over the years.
    The only critique I might have is that this video suggest using soy for proteins and mentions absolutely noting about possibly the best food for diabetics and anti inflamation: eggs.
    Eggs have a glycemic index of zero and come chuck full of protein ,vitamins and minerals ,also the protein in eggs is by far the most diggestable bioavailable protein (where a lot of the veggie proteins are particularly low on the bioavailability factor)

      Maybe the idea that you're still struggling with high levels of inflammation should be an indication to you that you and the doctor are both anything but on point. Any Doctor Who suggests that you consume 40% of your diet and highly inflammatory carbohydrates, and anyone who thinks this is the way to go while still suffering from those same complaints, deserves each other.

      @josephtein3835 you have a doctor here that has sworn to do no harm and has just recommended that people adopt a so-called anti-inflammatory diet containing 40% sugar. If this commenters feelings are injured due to my pointing out their lack of logic then I'm sure they can fend for themselves. I'm not one of those everybody gets a trophy for participating kind of people and will only make positive comments when there's something actually positive to comment on. Otherwise, everything I said was quite constructive and pointed out quite concisely why this person's logic is illogical.

    I am always curious why there are discrepancies in otherwise very intelligent doctors. Some I follow say that as we age we should get 1 graham of protein per ideal body weight which I have to say, being 59 is incredibly hard to do, especially daily. They say animal protein is best. I have been following you for 25 years and you say try to limit animal protein. What's the disconnect here? Love any insight.

    • @decolonizeEverywhere
      @decolonizeEverywhere 23 дні тому

      The correct answer is to stop listening to anyone that tells you that an anti-inflammatory diet includes 40% of your food in inflammatory carbohydrates. Pay no attention at all to anyone who doesn't discern any difference between high-carbohydrate fruits like bananas which are basically bioengineered fruity candy bars or low carb healthy fruits like berries. Carbohydrates are sugar regardless of the source you get them from and this man is telling you to eat 40% of your diet in sugar as if carbohydrates were a necessary nutrient

    I have to ask why anyone with a medical degree and supposedly turned into human health and nutrition would recommend people eat 40% of their diet in highly inflammatory and nutritionally devoid carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are nothing more than sugar. You are telling people to eat a diet high in inflammatory sugar compounds and actually suggesting that they limit their consumption of meat which is a healthy source of actual necessary nutrients to maintain a healthy life. We can't do without animal protein and we can absolutely live a life completely without carbohydrates. Our body manufactures carbohydrates through a process called gluconeogenesis. If everyone is supplying their bodies carbohydrate needs through dietary measures then you will never burn off the body fat that you're highly intelligent metabolism has stored for that very purpose. That's why you're fat and that's why you're in need of an anti-inflammatory diet in the first place. There is apparently a very good reason why no one except for you're worshipful followers on the internet pay any attention to what you have to say. Just the idea that you would base a anti-inflammatory diet on a thoroughly debunked Mediterranean diet that everyone knows was nothing more than a way to sell a book based off of Cherry Picked evidence.

    • @decolonizeEverywhere
      @decolonizeEverywhere 23 дні тому

      It's not the calories that you need to worry about. It's the nutritional deficiencies in Sugar compared to the Healthy nutrition and necessary nutrient of fat. If you have enough healthy fat in your diet you don't need to consume carbohydrates that only spike your insulin and make you get metabolic diseases. The healthy way for your body to acquire the minimum carbohydrate that it needs to function properly is through a process called gluconeogenesis where your body turns stored body fat into the necessary carbohydrates you need. And it only converts what you need so you don't end up with insulin spikes. The so-called knowledgeable doctor is basically recommending that you eat your diet 40% carbohydrates, 40% sugar and limit your consumption of meat which also limits your consumption of the necessary nutrients of fat and protein. And if you're getting your fat from plant sources it's highly inflammatory as well. The least inflammatory and most nutrient dense satisfying food in the world is meat and we can live off of meat and nothing else as several cultures around the world have proven time and again without suffering any cancer or metabolic diseases.
