  • The courtesy lights in the dash of my 1964 Cadillac Coupe De Ville are not working. I'm sure I can fix them. How hard can it be?
    Also, double cheese burgers with freshly baked buns are made.

      Another fabulous video and amazing double cheese burger! You even have a burger press and homemade buns! You are more American than me, Mario.

    One important thing to remember is that American cars from that era used the dash lights dimming control (which was usually accomplished through rotation of the headlight control knob) to also function as way to manually turn on the dome lights. Once you turn the control to set the dash lights to full bright, further rotation past a detent turns on the dome lights. However, in looking at the wiring diagram, it does appear to show independence between the front and rear courtesy light circuits in that the front doors operate the front courtesy lights and the rear doors operate the rear courtesy lights (dome lights?). The unknown part is how the previous owner’s modifications (taped up wires, cut wires, disconnected connectors) affected the overall operation of the dome/courtesy lights. It will take some time to sort out. Good luck!

    For the lights there is some little 2 legs condensators that u use on the wiring so u have the continuous power ti make them work, I just wish I could send u the picture, they are very small and should fix that problem keep it up mate u r doing fine👍

      Thanks, but I think they are not making proper contact in the holders. I will investigate. 🤔

      @@swisscarguy Hey, I know this was a month ago, but the switch is hidden underneath the curve in the middle of the backseat. Lean down and you'll see it. Cadillac probably kept it out of sight so kids wouldn't mess with it and leave the lights on.

    Hm,
    I thought Cadillac had this feature which switch off any lights after, like, 10/15 seconds?

    • @swisscarguy
      @swisscarguy  2 роки тому

      I think that came a bit later. The 64 is still a bit simpler in that regard.
