In this video I replace the sagging headliner of my 1989 thirdgen Pontiac Firebird. Turns out that repairing a sagging headline is quite easy. Just get the headliner out of the car, rip off the old fabric, scrape off the old foam and glue residue, then apply the proper automotive glue to both the backing board and the new headliner fabric before putting the fabric onto the backing board and then pressing it on with a roller. You will want to use a foam-backed fabric as that will hide imperfections in the backing material.
Once the glue has cured for at least 24h, the holes can be cut out and the headliner can go back into the car. Easy!
I also put on some aluminum butyl onto the inside of the roof in order to improve sound insulation before putting the headliner back in.
And since this video is so short, I bake a cheese cake at the end.
    Cheese cake recipe

    Ingredients:
    For the base:
    125 g Cookies (Graham Crackers or petit-beurre)
    50 g White sugar
    80 g Butter, melted
    For the filling:
    2 large eggs
    150 g of white sugar
250 g of cream cheese, at room temperature
125 ml of sour cream, plain or crème fraîche
125 ml of whipping cream, liquid
1 Lime, juice of (or 1/2 lemon)
1 tbsp of Vanilla or Vanillin
1 tbsp of flour (heaped tbsp)
    Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) (top/bottom heat).
Put the cookies in a plastic bag, close the bag, and crush the cookies with a rolling pin or a pot. In a small bowl, mix the crushed cookies with the melted butter and sugar. Put the mixture into a springform pan and press the cookie mixture firmly with your fingers or the back of a spoon. Place the springform pan in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix eggs, sugar, cream cheese, sour cream, whipping cream, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and flour with an electric mixer at medium speed until smooth. Mix the mixture at medium speed and do not mix for too long, as the filling will become too fluffy and may run out of the pan during baking.
Remove the springform pan from the refrigerator and pour the cream cheese mixture over the back of a spoon into the pan to avoid creating holes in the cookie base. Now let everything rest for 5 or even 10 minutes.
Then place the springform pan in the oven and bake the cake for 15 minutes. After that, reduce the temperature to 135°C (275°F) and bake the cake for 1 hour. Then turn off the oven completely, but do not open the door, this is very, very important. Keep the oven door closed for 2 hours. After the 2 hours, remove the springform pan from the oven and refrigerate it for 8 hours.
Before serving garnish it with fruit or berries to your liking.

I would have done likewise, getting some hands on the experience and keeping costs down. Nice job Mario.

The headliner was way easier than the cake, but it looks tasty.

Well done Mario. I expected it to be much harder work, and I agree on your way to take the cheaper route. When the cars value starts to sky rocket you can buy the original head lining. I was also interested in the effect of the sound deadening butyl, but I see you have already commented that it seems to be a disappointment. Nice cake.
