How To Change A Door Jamb Switch

In this video we change out the door jamb switch on my 73 Corvette. The lights would sometimes stay on with the door closed, sometimes not come on with the door open.

I wish I had watched this video before I try to change it by myself, l lose the wire inside the hole, and can not reach it easily in my c10 and the Electric current goes on and on, and finally the battery is dead

Should of come standard! Not sure when they started putting cup holders in cars but they were way too late in doing it! lol

WHere did you get the yellow crimp things you used to go onto the new switch???????? You didnt say anything about where they came from or showed you connecting those on the wires as you connected them to both old wires. Heat shrinking??

Just wanted to say that this was helpful. I started on a rear door in my 88 Suburban, and when I pulled the jamb switch, there were no wires on it. The whole thing broke! So I have to fish those out. But, got the front door switches done in just a few minutes.

I feel that maybe taping the wire to the frame may be easier and safer for the wires. So that they don't retract inward.
