Actually the biggest pothole in Christmas movies is how none of the parents believe in Santa when presents they didn't buy literally appear over night
y’know- i never thought about it before but yeah wtf. either santa exists but hasn’t been doing his job until like the end of the movie, or all the parents in the world, including the main character parents, are completely oblivious to the fact that presents just magically appear under the christmas tree on christmas eve year after year

My mom seems to think that leaving for the bathroom in the middle doesn't require pausing, so she then comes back and starts asking questions. And we we do pause she then asks why we paused

To be fair if I knew using the Bathroom requires the movie to be disrupted I wouldn't want them to pause it for me either. It's also normal in Theatres to ask basic questions about if anything is happening after using the bathroom.

What if there are multiple people watching and they go at different times? What if we're on a schedule and I don't want the viewing to take much longer than the official run time?
I see where you're coming from and what you mean, but if possible I do prefer pausing, I'd rather pause and wait for everyone unless everyone is needing to consistently go that you're pausing over 5 times, than it doesn't make sense to really be watching a movie together.
There’s also that one person who’s always trying super hard to explain the movie and get you invested in it.

Dude seriously. I was literally just talking about this. So many people just keep cherry picking on how the movie was made instead of just watching the damn movie. A lot of comment sections of movie clips or even just other UA-cam videos I go to are just talking about nothing but that and it’s so annoying.
I was reading this one comment section and 99% of the comments talked about nothing but the editing and the creator. Nobody talked about the video itself (which was a good video btw).
I'm kinda like that, but only if the editing is distracting. In fact just last night I watched "Don't look up" and the editing was just so jarring for an already not so good movie.
I don't see how anything could've been normalized in this video when it didn't show anyone calculate any magnitudes of vectors.
With some ways of animating the blood spurt out of the leg being shot, it might spray with an initial velocity parallel to the normal of the surface of the leg around that area

As a plothole guy (there seem to be a lot of us) I only look for a plothole within the established rules of the world they set up in, so if they have some magic or future tech in that world I'm totally fine with it but if something goes against their own rules then it bothers me. Like if I, as a first-time watcher, can see the contradiction then that means it's both bad writing and no one cared enough to double check if everything made sense. Like if you do fantasy stuff at least make it make sense/consistent. Also things like enemies ganging up on the good guy but approaching him one by one instead of attacking him at the same time or many enemies shooting at the non-bullet proof good guy(s) but somehow missing 100+ bullets/shots bother me as well. Like at least make it somewhat believable.

My ex used to do give away spoilers while watching a movie... And the worst "spoiler guys" are the ones who ask you "oh, do you mind spoilers btw?" AFTER they told you the spoiler. And if you make the mistake of saying "nevermind, it's ok" just to be polite, they start to spoil the whole movie. Bruh, we're literally watching it, shut up lmao

From a science school here, we spend most of lunchtime debating other options and scenarios the prota and the movie could've used to produce better results instead of just finishing the damn movie

This is my only problem. Please idc how much they changed the plot for unnecessary drama, for the love of god make their clothes fit in too.
My sisters and I love to analyze movies together, especially when we like them. My sister took a class on movie music in college so shes always pointing out how the soundtrack sets the scene, and we are always pausing the movie to talk about it. Anyone else watching with us gets annoyed sometimes that we keep talking, but it makes it more fun to me

When I'm watching a movie I've seen before I become this. Its fine when rewatching films with friends who've also seen it before, but the fact that I can't not do it means that I have to leave the room if I don't want to ruin somebody else's first experience.
I am one of these people but only after the movie ends.
there also the "fact guy" which I am when rewatching movie, but never to I watch with someone who is at their first experience and be like "that guy is the director", "she's actually his girlfriend in real life", "you know this line is actually a callback to the first movie in 2004"

I joined in on a movie my husband was watching one evening. He was like over 45 minutes into this movie and he started asking me questions about what was happening and I caught him up based on the 5 minutes I had watched and he still had questions. Like you’ve been watching this movie longer than me 😂
I actually find it quite funny to joke about how ridiculous events in a movie would be if they were in real life
I do this during a second watching with friends who have also seen it at least once and are okay with me doing it

@@aquatax24 if the movie doesn't pretend to be realistic, you can just disable your brain. Star Wars, for example. All physic rules are disabled for artistic view.
It's like i can tell It's for the action and story but when the heroes get slammed through concrete, buildings and other things that should definitely kill them then completely fine and able to fight but then go down to something super simple so the villan can escape

And I'm the second one (but I try to reserve it for things I'm supposed to take as realistic [there's this scene in a movie that still kinda annoys me where the climax of the movie is a kid shoots and kills his father who is a serial killer and frames it to look like a suicide, except there's no way anyone would conclude that someone shot from five feet away with a gun looks the same as someone shooting themself in the head. The angle would be wrong, theyd expect to see burn marks from the gun that wouldn't be there, etc...])
I hate how after I got into high school, I became basically much smarter and self aware but that also means that I don't want to look like an idiot while watching a movie and enjoying it if that movie is bad, so I have become that guy who finds every plothole
I'm the second one and my roommate is a sleeper. Throughout the movie, I complain to the walls and she keeps nodding her head semi-consciously... best thing ever.
What about those people who start an entire conversation the second you start a movie. Similar to the talker except it’s always at the beginning of the movie. I got to the point with my family members where I’d pause the movie and listen to them, just waiting in silence, and eventually they got the hint.
Or the people who have extremely loud or exaggerated laughs or loud reactions to every single thing that happens even if you’re in a crowded movie theater.
You forgot the "the book was better" people
I always love the argument "they could have shot them in the leg" in any scenario it's used. There are arteries in the legs, and if those get shot, you're dead. Even if they don't shoot the arteries directly, the bone that gets shot will shatter and most likely puncture those arteries, killing you.
Oh great, looks like I'm ok to watch a film with, altough I think people get annoyed because I constantly come up with new theories whilst we're watching.
My mom is the talker/questions about the future (especially when i have already seen it, like wait 5mins and everything will be explained) and my dad is the sleeper.
I'm the plotholes, but only when they break my suspension of disbelief. But i atleast wait till the end to point them out. Like in Legend of the 10 rings, the bus fight scene should have stopped when the line to the airbrakes was cut, because airbrakes have springs to keep them naturally on full braking and use the air to hold the pads apart. But i think that was the only noticable plot hole, everything else was either magic or plausible.
The fight was cool tho, I am the type to just watch and say nothing or make gags and puns across the movie

Unless it directly contradicts the rule established by the story itself, I don't usually care about plot holes. The movie's gotta happen somehow, it's okay if not everything makes sense.

We were in a movie theatre with colleagues on a course. The one literally would shout, look behind you, or something similar at the most dramatic parts of the movie. Luckily, other theatre goers asked her to shut up, and eventually to move to the empty seats in the front row when she couldn't restrain herself. Otherwise, it would have been very awkward to interact with her on the course for the rest of the week. I didn't think people could actually be like this until then😅😅😅
The first time I watched The Princess Bride, the people I was watching it with just _wouldn't shut up_ even after I asked them to, and then I ended up snapping at them, and then I ended up screaming at them, and then they _kept talking_
Recently watched a movie with someone with a pretty well written villain who was on their phone for half of the movie and then said 'the villain is so badly written and emotionless'.
Some plotholes are okay to point out though- like in famtastic beasts 2 when mcGonnagal is teaching at hogwarts in a year where she isnt even supposted to be born yet

As a proud plot hole person, the worst types of people to watch movies with are people who DON'T want to pause the movie at random times and discuss the plot holes/unrealistic aspects/predict the ending/say what they would do if they were in the movie...
So I guess all these types just have to find each other to have a good time...or watch movies alone

The problem with getting some to watch star wars is you are tempted to show them in order 1,2,3,4,5,6 but that first movie drags on for so long before anything even slightly interesting happens.

Yes you lose the I am your father twist, but that is literally the single most famous reveal in any movie ever, everyone already knows.
Watching it in that order, in my opinion also makes 456 better because you actually know some stuff about lines they say, like for example when they talk about the clone wars now you are like "hey i know what that is" instead of da fuq is that and then forgetting about it.
Machete order is best order though. That way you still get to keep the i am your father twist, but without having amy real knowledge of who the emperor is making his rise more intresting.
@ambassador Yeah that's the only reason I would show them in that order. People who watch modern movies expect modern pacing and modern technology but you aren't going to get that from a 40 ish year old film

One of the many reasons I don’t like watching movies with others is Bc I always feel like I’m getting on their nerves, I like to watch them by myself so I can comment, and crack as many jokes as I want without bothering people
I know someone similar to the phone guy who asks but for games. Whenever I take them through a game they SKIP THE CUTSCENES and then ask what's going on

Me and certain family members enjoy laughing at movies and pointing out absurd plot holes like "why didn't she just tell him? Everything would've been avoided if she did the only sensible thing" or "How did his clothes not burn off in that raging fire?". When we watch with everyone else we whisper the absurdities to one another.😂 My and my "certain" family members search out the worst movies with bad acting and plenty of cheese for torturous fun.🤣

I had one friend where we couldn't even get through 30 seconds of any movie because he kept having to interrupt and go on some irrelevant monologue about his life story.
