So glad you're here. Have you heard about this revolutionary change for hearing impaired help before? I was so surprised to learn about it and am now so grateful. Have you had your hearing checked yet?
Dear Roseanne, your video detailing your experiences with the airpods pro 2 was excellent and “comprehensive”, you touched on so many aspects of the effects of hearing loss, it’s been a revelation.
You are telling my my story exactly! Been using Costco hearing aids for six years with similar results. I always relied on the microphone when watching tv until now. Thanks for your great presentation. Merry Christmas.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience; what a great explanation. I have lived with hearing loss for more than 30 years and really wondered about the airpod solution.
Wow, this is the first video that explains the technical steps to incorporate air pods as hearing aids. I was so confused by other videos. Thanks so much!😊
I’ve never had hearing problems and knew that before I even took the hearing test with the AirPods. However, I recently discovered a truly useful feature of the AirPods: their ability to function as “hearing protection” in loud environments (as long as one of the noise control modes is enabled). Churches, restaurants, and even live music events can be incredibly loud, exceeding the 80-decibel safe limit for human hearing. The loud sound protection feature in the AirPods has been a lifesaver, preventing me from experiencing numerous headaches since Apple introduced it.
Thank you so much for this video! I’m learning my new AirPods, not for the hearing aid feature, but it’s good to know it’s there when I’ll eventually need it. I’m 67 and like loud rock music since my teens, and I already know I have some hearing loss. So thanks again!
The AirPods Pro 2 are Amazing using the Hearing test! Thank You Apple!❤ Im deaf in my one ear cause mumps mild lose in the other ear. Dont have to ask people to repeat themselves. So clear they protect hearing in noisey environments!
So glad I found this video! I just got mine delivered by Amazon yesterday. I ordered them on the Black Friday sale for only $154 😳. I normally buy everything directly from Apple, but for $100 discount I bought from Amazon this time. But, I was so frustrated that I couldn’t get them to work correctly. I packed them up and planned to return them to Amazon tomorrow. But after watching this I need to check on the software update and try again. I’m quite anxious to get these working properly. The hearing test was pretty cool. That Apple commercial is an exact portrayal of my hearing situation. So, after watching this I am determined to figure it out! Thanks for your video! And I like your Charlie Brown Christmas tree 🎄
I have just ordered these pods because they have just been approved for hearing aid use here in Australia. That means essentially the price of the pods here will definitely increase substantially. My hearing aids are basically useless because the sound quality is like a 30s recording, scratchy tinny and deeply irritating. I ceased using them long ago. I’m hoping these airpods will be far better sound quality with the noise reduction feature. Cheers !
@@mikeellis4345 hopefully, they won’t do that to the price. They didn’t change at all here. They price is about what I paid for my two regular AirPods Pro a few years ago, but things do go up. I hope the AirPods 2 work for you. Crossing my fingers that they will!
I started using airpods as hearing aids as soon as the update was available. The hearing test worked well. I agree with you that music, audiobooks, and phone calls sound better with the airpods. However since I have moderate to severe hearing loss in higher frequencies my Costco (Jabra Enhance pro 20) hearing aids are much better for general use. Also, WA state prohibits earbuds or headphones while driving so my hearing aids are great for listening to audiobooks while driving. Both hearing aids and airpods take getting used to, both the physical feel in your ears and having your brain set new pathways in hearing sounds you’ve been missing. Thanks for doing this video. I hope it helps people find what works best to help them hear better and participate in life more fully.

Thank you Roseanne for the Excellent video! I too am a musician and I've been wearing hearing aids for about 8 years. I mostly play mandolin in a band and have never been happy with the sound of my instrument or how I hear the other musicians. Other than that, I've been mostly happy with my Oticon hearing aids. I am considering a pair of the Airpod Pro2 just for playing music, I think they would give me a more truer more accurate instrument sound. Have you found this to be the case?
There is a big difference between my hearing aids an the Air Pods Pro 2 when it comes to music, but then again, Apple knows how to delivery quality musical sound. The funky wavering of the sound waves isn't there when I wear the Air Pods Pro 2 so I can play the piano as usual. I love the mandolin. How awesome that you play one!
My neighbour owned a hearing aid business, when I was 40 he let me try some, as he used to joke with me.. every one could use hearing aids. I will say is that Apple air tests will never replace an audiologist for testing your ears as the mind is a very deceitful thing in regard to hearing. At least you were tested, many will not take that step. Good for you and this is a nice first step video for people to watch.
@@derekparent752 I think many people are walking around not knowing they have hearing loss. Just imagine if some of them ended up with AirPods Pro 2 and took the test out of curiosity!

So glad you’re happy with your AirPod Pro 2 as hearing aids. I have mine a few months now and im very happy with them. As a lifelong hearing aid user I find them just merely adequate for tricky situations. In my case these tricky situations include tv or hi fi listening. The hearing aid is so much better. But recently I discovered that if I wore one iPod in my right ear and my hearing aid in the other ear then the hi fi sounds amazing. I can finally hear in stereo for the first time in my life. The detail is astonishing. My next step is obviously to try them in company. Also just to say despite having iOS 18.2 I still haven’t been able to try out the hearing test because I can’t get past the ‘Provide Some Details’ section; specifically the 3rd question ‘Have you been in a loud environment’. Despite that the included custom audio setting suffices for now and I can’t imagine any difference with the healthcare hearing test as you can pretty much set it up exactly the way you prefer it without doing any damage to your hearing. Though that might not work for other people new to hearing loss.
