Great job! I co-authored the book Modern Midges with Rick Takahashi and Rick taught me to use this method to tie the wing buds on his Crystal Chironomid. Love your instruction video and your wing buds are perfect! Thanks for sharing! Jerry Hubka
Wow Jerry that's such a great comment, I truly appreciate your kindness. I'll have to check that book out. I'm always looking to learn and improve. That's the beautiful thing about fly-tying and fly-fishing; it's a never ending learning curve! Thanks again my friend, have a great night!
My friend this is one of the best pattern I've seen. The only different thing i do is at the end i use a rust colour thread for the thorax. Thank you for the great tutorial...
Aw thanks for your kind words Dave! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to comment. Ooo yes that Rusty Brown thorax is a deadly addition! Tight lines to you this season🎣💪
I'd suggest probably an arts and crafts store like Michael's should have them. Even substitute for a Sharpie and you'll get a similar result no worries! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! For me it's personal artistic preference. I like the way the thorax transitions to the bead and the fish don't really seem to mind either way. Cheers brother!
Aww thank-you for such a nice comment Amelia! I'm pretty booked up at the moment, filling my own boxes and a few for some close friends before spring ice off. Wish I had the endurance of commercial tyers to sell these though but maybe in the future. Cheers!

Where can I get a HuHu alcohol based marker, #2467, without buying an entire set? It is expensive.

Why the bead on backwards

@@tyingismyvise That's what I thought
What color wire ?
For this pattern, a silver wire works perfect in size Sm for hook sizes 16 and 14 and a size XS for size 18.
Do you sell these? They are amazing!!
