I’ve been tying flies for 55 years. I’ve been tying chironomids 25 years. I want you to know that I learned something today. Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Wow Jim that's such a great compliment! I really appreciate you taking the time to not only watch, but to take the time to comment. Means a lot to me my friend, tight lines!
@deltadeltas4558 haha thanks so much! I have fished chironomids much in rivers or streams. Not because of their effectiveness but where I live, I'm surround by countless Stillwaters and our River opportunities are limited. First world problems though I guess right? Hehe cheers my friend 👊
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I'll tie these on Scud Hooks sizes 10, 12, 14, and 16 and also on Curved Nymph sizes 12, 14, 16, and 18. For my local stillwaters this has the vast majority of chironomids covered from early ice off until late fall. Cheers my friend 👊

Couldn't agree more. Subbed :)
Amazing tie! The asb really matches the plastron respiration of the pupal skin. Can’t wait to tie some myself!

Nice looking fly and great video. Were you putting resin on the wing buds as well as the body?
Did you stretch the asb strip immediately before tying in? Great video.
When anyone says helicopter 🚁 now , it reminds me how I made my girlfriend laugh when i tied flies naked ...
Nice fly but? Do you do them smaller or this is the size you fish ?
Thanks for taking the time to comment! I'll tie these on Scud Hooks sizes 10, 12, 14, and 16 and also on Curved Nymph sizes 12, 14, 16, and 18. For my local stillwaters this has the vast majority of chironomids covered from early ice off until late fall. Cheers my friend 👊
@@tyingismyvise thanks , maybe you can show us how to do it on a 16 or a 18
Do you sell them? If so, where?
At the moment I unfortunately do not sell my flies...I can barely keep up to fill my boxes haha. Thank-you for commenting though, I appreciate it!
well done.. but the ASB's I tie are far less busy and very effective. But a good tie none the less.
