Congratulations ! That's an great video as usual but showing well your emotions and how difficult bow hunting can be. After almost 500 big games hunted in Africa, I wanted to start bow hunting to create more emotions and difficulties too but a sad accident to my arm, and a prothesis in the elbow later, destroyed a bit that dream. I lost almost all my strength so I keep hunting with rifles so far but to give more thrills, I plan to start revolver hunting as an alternative. It also needs a lot of practices and to approach animal at close distance.

This is awesome! I've been following your channel for a couple years now, and you've been a huge inspiration to me as I slowly get into the world of long-range precision rifle shooting.
I've really wanted to get into hunting as well, but where I live it's difficult to find legal and safe spots to hunt with a firearm, but hunting seasons for bow hunting are much longer, and it's much easier to find areas where I'm allowed to hunt. So just a week ago I finally took the plunge and bought my first bow, and then today I look and see you've uploaded this. Are you living inside my head, Piet? 🤣

Well done on your first animal with a bow. Getting into an animals red zone is a thrill in itself and sneaking an arrow past their senses is a great achievement.
I see some people in the comments saying it’s less ethical, but I’d argue it’s just as ethical, as you have given the animal a lot more opportunity to detect you and get away, therefore a higher chance of survival. Lastly placing a good arrow often kills the animal in seconds and many times the animal doesn’t even feel the cut of the broadhead. I have a fair amount of anecdotal and video evidence to show this. I really dislike this bow hunter vs rifle hunter in-fighting nonsense. There are enough anti-hunters actively pushing against the hunting community already at the present.

I understand that some people might feel this is slightly less ethical than rifle hunting but the fact that you are forced to get a lot closer makes it more fair in my opinion. It gives the animal more chance to sense the hunter and more chance to get away. It is still far better for the animal than dying by predation or old age.
