    Stevie is a Savage. She didn't write some whiny song about breaking up with her boyfriend..she wrote a masterpiece and made him perform it on stage...

      Feminist delusion. Lindsey Buckingham decided Fleetwood Mac would not include "Silver Springs" in the "Rumours" album and forbade ... yes, FORBADE ... the public performance of the song for over twenty years. In case you didn't know, "Silver Springs" was supposed to have been included on the "Rumours" album but Buckingham just said, "No."
      Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were TOXIC together (and apart, too). They constantly cheated on one another, with most accounts saying Nicks was the more promiscuous. Fleetwood Mac was a great group, and I personally love their music, but their interpersonal dynamics were totally f*tucked up with no good or innocent people between them.
      But they did make great music.

      @yashmindeoliveira4392 Lindsey Buckingham said it didn't "fit" the rest of the album. So, it was not included in the album.
      Look, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks had a very toxic and volatile relationship. Don't doubt they were passionate for one another and maybe even at one time loved one another but they were BOTH bad for each other. They cheated on one another, with most accounts I heard saying that Nicks was the more promiscuous. Bluntly, the idea that Nicks somehow "made" Buckingham play the song is a silly made-up feminist rewrite of history.

    The electricity between Stevie and Lindsay is obviously captivating and steals the show. Now go back a second time and listen a second time, focusing on the whole band. It’s just such an incredible musical performance top to bottom.

    Taylor Swift: write a song about a bad breakup and sing it in front of thousands of people:
    Stevie Nicks: write a song about a bad breakup and make him perform it in front of thousands of people.

    Their final break-up happened while vacationing in Aspen. Lyndsey left Stevie (stranded). Stevie wrote Silver Springs. Gut wrenching.

      He was touring with an Everly Brother and she went to Colorado and wrote Landslide . He did come and he did leave her there . This was BEFORE they joined FM, so no, not their final break up. They didn’t break up until the making of Rumours .

    There is a video of a performance where she couldn't keep singing so he tried to finish the song for her only to start crying too and the audience finishes the song while they cry. Their hate/love relationship was horrible for their emotional welbeing but it brought some amazing songs.

    I think Silver Springs is one of Fleetwood Mac's greatest songs period. The crazy thing is that the song wasn't even included in the original Rumours album that was released. I've read that other members of Fleetwood Mac thought the song was too negative, and that they didn't have enough room to include the song. Originally the only way you could get the song was as a single B side I believe. When they re-released Rumours, they included Silver Springs on the whole album. This performance on The Dance concert probably is the greatest live performance by Fleetwood Mac ever.

    I saw them in "97 on their Dance tour, which I believe this video is from that tour.. I had just separated from my ex husband and my sisters took me to this concert to cheer me up. What a gift!!! It was phenomenal!!

    I can feel the hurt, but see the fire between them. Kinda felt like I was walking into a room at the wrong time. LOL. Love Fleetwood Mac and the strength they showed by having to see each other all the time.

  • @gloriagaddy
    @gloriagaddy 3 місяці тому +11

    To think...this was the song they LEFT OFF the Rumours album because there wasn't enough room on the vinyl albums that music was released on back then. Stevie's songwriting and performances enable us to feel what she felt when she wrote her songs. That in itself is truly amazing.

  • @MikeCoggan
    @MikeCoggan 3 місяці тому +6

    Stevie said she held back emotionally during rehearsals.....for a better effect. His song ",Go Your Own Way" was written about Stevie, and it was hard for her to have to sing that she just wanted to sleep around "packing up, shacking up is all you want to do".The tension made for one of the all time best records. Also had to be awkward for John to have play on Christine's 'You Make Loving Fun" which was written about her affair with one of the crew.
    The whole album is great yet filled with so much tension....In "Gold Dust Woman" Stevie sings the line "rulers make bad lovers" (Lindsey wanted things his way) Their dysfunction certainly made for good music

    Although we all love this performance(it perfectly captures their history), and Christine's lovely keyboards, I still prefer the studio versions of the 70s(and there are a few). Stevie's vocals back then were simply hypnotizing.

    Tasha, don’t get carried away with their backstory. Yes their relationship was used as inspiration for the lyrics like many of their songs. However, this is one of their finest songs perfectly performed. Btw, saw the Rumors Tour in 78’ and while others here have correctly said it didn’t make the original album release, they did play it on the tour.

    This song is my all time favorite. I tear up every time. I think many of us have that one person we loved so much, who didn’t love us back. On a happier note, I took my 18 yr old twin grandkids to see Stevie in Little Rock a couple of months ago. They had as much fun as I did, and knew the words to every one of her songs! (BeBe raising her grandkids on the best music!😄) One of the best nights of my life! THE Miss Stevie Nicks! Voice still killing it, and still gorgeous! W/O a bunch of plastic surgery.

    You are AMAZING. I love the depth of detail and passion you throw into your reactions. You get them.
    A reaction none have done, but I would love to see is the version of Say Goodbye from Lindsey's live Soundstage show. It came out in 2005, but was recorded in 2003 during the Say You Will tour, the first tour after he had married someone else.

    Hi Tasha. Congratulations on your musical journey with Fleetwood Mac. They are one of my favorite bands of all time. You need to react to these two songs also. They are done by Stevie and Lindsey on a Sound Stage special Lindsey did in 2005. The songs are "Saying Goodbye" and "Never Going Back". I know you will lo e these two songs. Thank you for what you do with music and God Bless.

    They broke up many years before. That performance was choreographed. Lindsay encouraged Stevie to sing it so passionately. Stevie actually was the one who left Lindsay not saying Lindsay was without fault but Stevie broke it off with Lindsay and then had a fling with Mick Fleetwood the drummer who eventually dumped Stevie for one of Stevie’s girl friends. Lindsay later on got into a relationship with a photographer and married her.

      Thank you for knowing and speaking the truth. It is amazing that so many today think that Lindsey Buckingham was this machiavellian villain (okay, that he was) while Stevie Nicks was this pure, even virginal innocence (which she most definitely was not).

I just don't get it....regardless, love this video and thanks for the reaction. Luckily I have seen it so many times so I can kind of figure out what you are reacting to with this performance. Normally I just click out when I can't see or hear the video well but I love you as a reactor so I stayed.
