    Hi Ben. Thank you for your walkthrough. During the lockdown/pandemic days we only used a Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam via VMix to livestream. After all went to near normal (again). We decided to add more cameras to cover the church and of course, te overflow. We now have the following setup:
    1) iSmart AMC-E200T PTZ motorized camera - behind the stage (wall mounted) over looking the congregation - pans, zooms and tilts, brilliantly
    2) Canon EOS M50 Mark II Mirrorless Camera - tripod mounted (unmanned) focuses on the entire stage but too static for my likening - would have loved to be able to zoom it remotely
    3) Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam - In the overflow on a tripod
    4) Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Pro - used to control inputs to and switching for VMix
    5) Huddly GO USB Conferencing Camera - Spare (not used, at the moment)
    None does what we want apart from the iSmart AMC-E200T PTZ motorized camera. I wish I knew what I know now. I am considering adding Mevo to the mix (to replace the function of the Canon M50 - I see that you use iPad to control your cameras, would I be able to zoom in and out using a PC?
    Any advice to make things better is welcome,
    thank you.

    You could run a short cable from the mixer to the ipad so you can get your sound from the mixer. No need to run a long cable. Also with the new ipad mini 6 you can have an all in one usb c adapter with ethernet, microphone input and power plugged into the ipad. Just my 5 cents about your setup :-)

      You are absolutely correct! Two years ago when I set this up, connecting audio to your control device was not as reliable as it is now through various updates Mevo has brought. My question has to do with the iPad mini. Are you running any other application on the iPad Mini? I too pastor a small congregation but we have no “building” right now. This was a life saver for me. Thank you so much for putting it out there! I do have a couple of questions. On your iPad mini, you have some sort of adapter on the right side…I am assuming power and Ethernet to lightning connector ? What is it called please? The other question was about your multiple Ethernet connections…I am not smart enough to figure how you did those…assuming from router to a box splitter then to cameras and mini pad..what is the splitter box called exactly so I can find it? Thank you! We ran power to our Mevo cameras utilizing a network switch that has Power Over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. That line was run to the camera and through Mevo’s Ethernet adaptor to supply power. In the app settings you can choose to turn the device on or off by turning on the USB power toggle in the settings. You can get creative with this in other ways by using a smart plug from a nearby power outlet running a USB cable as well.

    Okay are you using Restream, Vimeo or something else for your overlays, graphics, slides before or during the service. I am strongly considering moving from streaming to just recording my service and uploading at the time of our worship service. Since the pandemic is keeping more people away from our in-house gathering, I am moving in this direction. It would be great to have a crystal ball...but I don't. LOL

    • @thebenbeckner

      Up until very recently, all graphics were bing handled by the mevo apps. I am now beginning to utilize ProPresenter and Ecamm to now bring in graphics, announcement loops, song lyrics. I will be recording a video on our new workflow and programs, etc.
      In regards to pre-recorded services, I know a lot of churches are still utilizing that approach. I know you can upload the videos and set them to appear as a “premier” at your designated times. That will give you time to edit your videos as you need. Since we are hybrid, that doesn’t work for our situation.
      This is a crazy time to be leading a church, thanks for what you are doing to reach your congregation!

    Hello Pastor and thank you for this video. Is very helpful. I have a few questions about your setup and I would like to know more about your experience.
    The Mevo App is free to use with the camera's purchase? or do you need another licence? (for an Ipad, I don't know if it works on Android)
    Whit this app, can you add Overlays (e.g. worship song lyrics, scriptures, information, a logo, powerpoint presentation, etc.) and if is possible, how many?
    Do you recommend this app for the 3 cameras pack? or do you use another one better? (would be awesome another video of the Mevo app or the app you are currently using)
    I saw that you have a POE switch, so that means that you have your cameras connected via UTP cable? The cameras are connected to the network via that cable or Wifi?
    Those are my questions, sorry for the long list, I'll be very thankful if you have a chance to check them.
    We are considering this system, also for another Church of the Nazarene. Thank you and God Bless you!

    • @thebenbeckner

      Thanks for your reply! The mevo apps are free and offer some good basic overlay options but are somewhat limited. Mevo has 2 apps, the Logitech Mevo app and the Mevo Multicam. Each one has some different features in regards to the overlays that are a little tow involved to go over here. There are some great help articles on the mevo website that go into those details.(Maybe an idea for a follow-up video? ;)
      We have used the multicam app for many months but our needs to provide additional content in our streams has forced us to look outside the Mevo software to accomplish. We have been using Ecamm on one computer to handle the streaming and camera scenes and ProPresenter for our projection in house and to send lower third lyrics, sermon slides and video to our livestream. I do plan on a video to show that set-up soon.
      We have two of our cameras hardwired using poe adaptors and UTP cable , but we have recently added a third camera that is running wirelessly. It has worked great so far.
      I'm happy to answer and help as much as I can. Good luck in your setup!

      Thanks for what you are doing for the kingdom! I am using the Mevo ethernet adaptors. They are a little expensive but have been trouble free! And Lord knows I don't want to get into that attic anymore than I have to to deal with something problematic. ;) They have been in use for about 3 years now I think.

    Do you save your live videos to a file? We are recording at church on the mevo start and want to save the video to a computer for editing...I'm not sure how to get the video from the camera to a PC.

    • @thebenbeckner
      @thebenbeckner  2 роки тому +1

      Our typical process does not involve any post editing from the file saved on the Mevo. However, for your needs, if you have an SD card in the Mevo that you are saving to, you can remove the card from the camera and import the file to your PC. The Mevo uses a micro sd card, but there are various adaptors available to allow the pc to read an sd card. I hope that helps!

    How do you keep consistent audio for a 3 camera switch? One out of the monitor to a mevo, which sounds great, but when I go to the next camera it's listening to the internal mic instead of the mix....do I have to run 3.5mm to every camera?

    • @thebenbeckner
      @thebenbeckner  2 роки тому

      Hi Steve, I run just one audio source to one of the cameras. I have the other cameras muted in the app. The app does not "switch" audio when you change cameras.

    Did you end up using Mevo’s power over Ethernet adapter?

    • @thebenbeckner
      @thebenbeckner  2 роки тому +2

      We do yes. However, with our current setup I don't feel they are as necessary as some quality usb-c to ethernet adaptors are now available that weren't when we set this up. Using a PoE network switch you do not have to use Mevo's adaptor, you can use a non-powered adaptor.

    Nice video. One question. I don’t know if I missed the answer or not but how do you get the mixed sound from the mixer to the iPad?

    • @thebenbeckner
      @thebenbeckner  2 роки тому

      Thanks Marcus! The sound is sent to the front mevo camera by a 3.5mm cable from the board up the wall and across the ceiling. That method is recommended by mevo, connect your audio source direct to the camera rather than your control device (iPad).

      The camcorders I have, have 3.5mm line out port. Using a 3.5mm TRS cable from your camera and connecting it to your board on a channel that will accept a 1/4" plug would be what I would try. I linked an example of the cable here. • @thebenbeckner
      @thebenbeckner  2 роки тому

      You don’t have to connect cameras to the sound board. The mevo mics are passable but not as nice and clear as you can get from the sound board. Honestly, sound choices are plentiful and the cameras are great in their flexibility in sound input options
