  • Hi, in this video I used my air 2s to fly out into the sea to try to photography in 360 this disused grain tower on the south east of England. I took 143 images as I ran into some troubles with signal strength and then processed them in Reality Capture.
    It worked really quick and surprisingly well, processing in under 40 minutes, I then edited and re-meshed in Blender, and and after UV'ing I imported back into RC for re-texturing.
    The geometry was rendered quickly in Blender with a camera rotating 360 degrees around it.
    I also did some super fast imports into UE5 and tested out the new Nanite, although I did not add water I used the valley of ancient scenes and just dropped my mesh in there to see how it looks rendered from far off.
    This was a very fast and amateur effort but it surprised me how well the Air 2S takes images for photogrammetry. I hope you like and do ask me any questions

    I just ordered Air 2s since it still has 1" CMOS sensor and picture quality is great (as well as 3rd party apps SDK). Thanks for the tutorial, much appreciated!

    Imagine when generative AI becomes so good that you just feet it all the photos and videos on the internet and out comes the entire planet in perfect detail in Unreal Engine 6.

    Agisoft is enough for me. But I can see that using RealityCapture, Blender and UE5 gives much better results. I will try, thanks for the great video.

      oh boy, since RC dropped its PPI licensing price 4x after epic bought it, there's not a good reason not to use RC. I mean, I built a 1 bill poly model out of 700 pics with a computer that has 32gb ram. Aligning it all together took ~20minutes, with properly captured image sets. Meshing high -- done overnight.
      With agisoft, at least a year ago, you needed some NASA computer with tons of ram to even attempt this. And spend days.

      hi Metsahpe has some excellent features that RC does not have and RC has features Metashape does not have. Both can produce excellent results. RC is perhaps easier to use for beginners and since its purchase by Epic has become more affordable.

    Hello sir, noob here with a noob question. What is the purpose of remeshing in blender? Is the mesh coming out of RC not good enough or is it decimation that you do and call remeshing? Does any of your video cover explaining what it's good for?

    • @MrKams1
      @MrKams1  3 роки тому

      hi many of my other videos cover decimation and remeshing techniques. I found UE5 dealt better with quads, hence remeshing into quads, also its easier to make a UV map and render with decimation. Thanks for watching

    Hi. How many polygons did your model had after exporting from RC? Did you simplify it before export?

    • @MrKams1
      @MrKams1  2 роки тому

      Hi usually I simplify in rc because it's faster than in blender. I cannot remember fro this model but likely tens of millions of polys which don't work too well in blender

      @@MrKams1 Thanks for the reply. I'm facing the same problems that's why I asked :D It's a great job that you doing and it's very interesting to see step by step how you approach these 3D models. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
