Exactly the issue. They have incentivised themselves to never truly release the game as they string along people who have literally spent thousands and will likely keep spending more. The players need to stop spending in order for them to get the message that they should finish the actual gameplay.

It does nothing that other ships don‘t do better and is in dire need of fixing. The Carrack is a lovely design but has no pilot guns, only a one ship hanger bay (vs.the Galaxy etc. that will hold many or cheaper ships like the Connie Andromeda that has a snub) and they’re talking about downgrading the med bed to a size 2 which will prevent it from being a spawn spot. It’s beautiful, but it’s utility is limited. If the med bed is indeed downgraded in 2024, the Carrack will be an unattractive buy. The redeemer is a fine ship with a crew (the most powerful guns are on the turrets). Hopefully, no one is buying it for solo though as the pilot guns are the weakest on the ship. It needs a crew of 3 to really find its niche…but its a fine vessel and a nice inclusion. In terms of pledge money spent, the Nomad, Cutlass and Connie Taurus / Andromeda are the most ships for the money right now. They get you into the most gameplay loops for the least spent. The best principle with Star Citizen is to understand it’s an open sandbox environment rather than a full game right now. It can be spectacular, but if you treat it like a game, you’ll be frustrated and disappointed. Beyond that it’s worth assessing how much enjoyment you get from a particular ship in the game. If you love it, you’ll want it after each wipe. Next, how expensive is that in game vs the pledge store. For me, the Carrack is my dream exploration ship I’ll one day multi crew across the verse mapping jump points. Until then, I cannot be bothered to grind the huge 26m UEC in game each wipe, so buying one cc’d for around $400 was my indulgence. Conversely it’s pointless owning the smaller ships. It’s fun to grind and earn them after a wipe. I like to pick up a Gladius, a Cutty Black and a Connie after each wipe, it gives me something to aim for given there’s no proper gameplay right now. Another ship that’s expensive in game but very useful is the Redeemer. Nearly 9m UEC, it is another solid candidate to buy.
man if the cutty ever gets a gold standard upgrade it will be soo good, its kinda boring for crew right now. i hope they add a small galley for friends to sit around
I cashed in everysingle item I had on my account just to get the UEE EXPLORATION 2948 PACK back when it was like very low in price just so i could always start the game on whipes with a carrack . I asked my husband if its worth it since he got me into the game and he approved so I did it ! Since I refuse to play the game solo I am never in need of solo ships . Traded the terapin in for a mole to use it to mine with my husband upon a wipe then use the carrack to haul the refined mats to cash in . Also logging out while the mats refine keeps me and my husband fresh from burning out and making mistakes while the ores refine . Might not be the fastest way but Patience works for us .
for me i would choose the new corvette purely for the firepower since i often get jumped by player hammerheads while off doing bounty missions. and of course they single me out since i lack any ship to confront them i always get rekt then they mock me for it, so just to deal with the pirate goons i want a ship with lots of firepower.
@@thestormcraft4012 "often get jumped by player hammerhads" i mean can't you run away from a slow flying ship that you can detect miles away? also finding a fully crewed hammerhead that is willing to harass people and risk going to prison is as rare as it gets. Most gankers are flying around in Gladiouses ,talons or eclipses so I call BS. Plus as of right now running away is extremelly easy unless you are in atmosphere on some slow ship.
I hate the Carrack's design... It's only benefits are the med and ship bay... It has no solo pilot guns, so the 600i makes alot more sense to me with having the most solo gun DPS in the game...
Cutty Black: YES SIR. A daily driver for most, since it is that jack of all trades sort of ship. It can do everything, but it doesn't necessarily EXCEL in anything. Also I am simply a Drake fanboy. It's industrial looking, and I love it for that. Connie Andromeda: Honestly, I would prefer the Taurus, since cargo/drug running is kind of ESSENTIAL to the game right now, and that massive cargo bay (For the size of the ship) is just HUGE. Anvil Arrow: Lowkey one of the greatest picks for a solo fighter who wants to swoop in, do a little bit of damage, and get outta dodge without pretty much anyone understanding who just hit em. I would also personally choose a Hornet over this little guy, but I still love me an Arrow. Redeemer: I can't say much about this one, since I haven't personally been in one, but if you're looking to fly a gunship, this is when you pick up an Andromeda. That's about all I'll say about it. Prospector: ONLY FULL PURCHASE THIS SHIP IF YOU WANNA DEDICATE A LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME TO MOON MINING. Otherwise, if you just wanna dip your toe into that gameplay loop, just rent it for a day or three. C8X: I've heard nothing but goodness about this little snubby. Can't say anything bad about it. Gladius: Ah...ah, the Gladius. If you want a good all around bounty ship, or if you're looking to rain hell on some other players in PvP combat, she's your gal. She will never do you wrong, unless you've climbed up the bounty hunting ladder and you're doing VHRTs or ERTs, then you should use and Inferno or an Ion. Carrack: If you have a few friends and you want to roleplay, or you're part of an org and you all are doing some crew missions, yeah sure. Go for it. I personally think it's a bit of a waste, but if that's what you're going for, be my guest.
Must be nice to be so affluent that you can afford to spend real $$$ on ships for a game that has been around for many years, and they still can not release it. You are lucky to have so much loot that you can take a chance that they will never release, and you may end of with nothing for your bucks. Good luck with your wistfulness and how you spend your money.
Work hard, dont knock anyone up, dont spend money on booze or drugs and you too can have 100 or 200 extra dollars! Use the time you spend on complaining about being broke on getting not broke. 🫶
Hmmn well game loops. MSR or Herald for data running. Msr is more utility ship than the herald, but herald if cost is a factor. Heavy fighter scorpion or vanguard, vanguard if you want more of a daily driver. Med probably the pices 8r but there is a good case for the cutty red. Interdiction cutty blue or mantis, cutty blue is way more flexible. Medium fighters are in a really bad place, probably the gladius :) . Refuelling you have well not a lot of in game choice star farer it is then. Cargo probably the Max or Taurus. Cat or Herc for heavy haulage well at least till another hull drops. The Mole should get at least a mention for mining. Grav bike I prefer the Nox but dragonflies are good too. Stv or cyclone for wheeled. Ballista for air defence.
If you’re just trying to make money the best solo ships in the game are the corsair and the vulture. I quite like my reclaimer even though it can be a pain. Carrick will be my next large ship purchase, it just oozes star trek

I´ve just seen the thumbnail and had to join on this one because of a recent personal experience as well as many comments about my "issue" in here. Im a Nov. 2013 backer and my best horse inside the garage is a Rear Admiral Pledge with the Silver Collector´s Edition, LTI, 5 Ship Blueprints, Shipmodel.... u know.. the one with the long list ;-) In terms of things I love im typically the "shut up and take my money" type. The silent one, that never argues about anything and gives the whole thing the time to evolve. So over the years on increasingly rare sales I was able to upgrade my pledge up to I think my favourite Ship in the game. The Anvil Carrack of course. For me it just seems to be the right size in terms of people I play with, things I can do with it and the many gameplay perspectives it offers. It looks damn good as well! So I didnt hesitate back then and made sure I had a full set of Mantis GT-220 Gatlings as well as a full set of Mass Drivers. Since that last upgrade many years passed by and the 10 year birthday just was reason enough to check on things. I do not have much time to do intense Forums research, because im working on my own music channel here on youtube as well atm, so I picked the one indicator that rarely does lie if it comes to rare things like my pledge (You actually have trouble to find my pledge + carrack on google anywhere). So I threw it on the market for a while and let the people be the judge for me. Im still kind of shocked by the result I got. People actually offered me no more no less than 500€, which is about 25€ more than the Standalone LTI version + Rover + Pisces and it took a while for these less than a hand full interested ones to show up..... Which brought me in here of course.... Im not doing myself a favour here...., but im kind of disappointed. I was sure I got something special there. At least I never even wasted a thought about selling it until the 10 year timestamp on the horizon. I just want to share this very recent experience I made, to backup the people that were talking about this issue as a whole here. I still have the ship and did not convince myself what to do with it. I want to believe in the game and made the best choice. It definately is a very bad sign if all that additional rare stuff you get ontop only would earn you 25€ more. After 10 years... So i have to say... from my perspective the story is true and I feel a bit sad about it :(
Wanting to get a Carrack... several months now waiting. I find CIG's sale strategy stupid. They should have all ships available year round and have discounted sales during events. I have another friend that was getting a Mercury Star Runner but since it wasn't available he spent the money on another game. So if CIG wants to make money, I don't think this sale strategy of hiding ships and making them available only during events is smart.
No you won’t, I’m pretty sure pledging ships will be an Alpha/pre-release thing only based on previous things devs said. The fun part is finding out whether or not that’s true!
my favorite ships are the carrack comes with a rover and pisces caterpillar corsair vulture retaliator sentinel i think a temporary loaner super hornet!!!! warlock nox is my current place holder for the ranger these to me are best money spent! these may not be the meta but they are up there in performance and dollar for dollar i think best value as well as all work well solo or in crew or fleet
man, none of the best ships for me are highlight here. origin 100 series ( small pad, fast, cargo, and bed ) key ship for any fleet of any level. Fury for fun with friends. CXR for small pad med bed, plus food, water and med pens. lastly the MULE saving armor in racks to spawn at small pads is top teir! Razor for speed and stealth
As a new player, if you dont have the time to grind stuff in the game because you have a life outside of playing video games, buying a large ship is a great suggestion (I will not however tell you how you should spend your money, its yours do with it what you will 😋), BUT let it be KNOWN that the game is in ALPHA and a truly BUGGY state half of the time, you will experience glitches and bugs when you play, you cannot really grind out and get ships and keep them BECAUSE it is in ALPHA, progress will be occasionally WIPED meaning anything you buy in game with in game credits will be LOST and you have to get them again. If that is sounds ok with you then all you need as a new player is to get the lowest game package, the Aurora, BUT spending up to get a CUTTER or an AVENGER TITAN is a nice option, you keep ships you purchase with real currency these do not get wiped when a patch or update to the game is required. Try the game out and since almost all ships are available to get IN GAME, fly them ask other players who have them for a ride and see if owning a larger ship is for you. See you in the verse Citizen o7
I wouldn’t buy any ships besides your starter package the game barely runs correctly you’re lucky not to get a 30 K every day or a random server, crash or a random death from your own ship it’s been 10+ years they haven’t really done much with it hell last year I made an inventory system and it was way better than what we have now that’s saying something especially from somebody that doesn’t do game development lol
I can't understand buying a game and then constantly buying things for that game with more real money. What happened to you buy the game and you play it, or maybe you have a monthly subscription for a live service game. Buying a game and then spending hundreds or thousands more on stuff in the game is just insane.
@@epicassassin8502 You're really trying to defend some of the most disgusting micro transactions ever seen in gaming. If you can get these things in game but it takes ridiculous time while everyone else pulls out a credit card and skips gameplay yeah that sounds soooooo fun.
Why don’t they take a page from gajin’s book. Have the game free and earn money on foot. The cities you start in are big with more than enough potential for foot based jobs. Then earn enough for a ship. If you did need to go to another world then book passage …
I do hear you however some ships are much cheaper now than later. The Banu Merchantman was 300ish when first on sale, then went to 500, today is 650 and on release the ship will be around 900. man if the cutty ever gets a gold standard upgrade it will be soo good, its kinda boring for crew right now. i hope they add a small galley for friends to sit around
My favorite ship is Eclipse. That’s my number one PvP ship. Also fun in PvP is gladius. Love them
A star wars DLC for this game would be so awesome!
I would personally choose the Anvil Carrack, even if its just for looks
for me i would choose the new corvette purely for the firepower since i often get jumped by player hammerheads while off doing bounty missions. and of course they single me out since i lack any ship to confront them i always get rekt then they mock me for it, so just to deal with the pirate goons i want a ship with lots of firepower.
@@thestormcraft4012 fair enough
@@thestormcraft4012 "often get jumped by player hammerhads" i mean can't you run away from a slow flying ship that you can detect miles away? also finding a fully crewed hammerhead that is willing to harass people and risk going to prison is as rare as it gets.
Most gankers are flying around in Gladiouses ,talons or eclipses so I call BS.
Plus as of right now running away is extremelly easy unless you are in atmosphere on some slow ship.
@@ROrneli yeah, what kind of a dream scenario did he create? Haha I guess he just wants a Hammerhead and is trying to justify the purchase.
I hate the Carrack's design... It's only benefits are the med and ship bay... It has no solo pilot guns, so the 600i makes alot more sense to me with having the most solo gun DPS in the game...
Pretty sure the corsair beats it now
I only have 2 of the ships on this list, redeemer and Gladius. And I have a lot of ships
Ingame or pledge?
I would hope a ship released 5 years ago is still good before the game comes out.
Thanks! At the end of the day, people can do what they want with there money :)
Work hard, dont knock anyone up, dont spend money on booze or drugs and you too can have 100 or 200 extra dollars! Use the time you spend on complaining about being broke on getting not broke. 🫶
Cutlass Black forever
The andromeda is my favorite to because it's has lot of weapons and more
11:41 what crustaceans are you talking about?
I think he said "crew stations"
How many systems are there in the game currently?
One.
With 4 planets
one, tho we're getting close to the second and they should start being added more rapidly once all the tech like server meshing is up and running
3.33 repeating of course
@@Memedog27 I am fine with Stanton to be honest. I just want more gameplay. Adding in a new system will not change anything, but the sites you can see.
I reckon another one of these videos would do well for 3.18 if that interested you ✌️
Tempted to yeah, we shall see ;)
The Origin 600i would be a much better and cheaper option than the Carrack. You can at least use it solo unlike the Carrack.
I got a MSR and a C8r. I would not mine upgrading my MSR to a Carrack but its so expensive.
You can upgrade it to galaxy, which Carrack is the lending ship of galaxy, you can keep the Carrack until Galaxy release
@@naoh8026 Hmm did not know. I will buy the galaxy
Upgraded my Carrack to BMM (As CCU until completion).
instead of the carrack i went with the 600i
I haven't even had the chance to play yet, and I already feel so overwhelmed 😅😅😅
dude i pledged 6 years ago and am just getting around to playing the game lol. I traded in my Andromeda pledge so just trying to figure out what all i can get for that.
Solo starter quick claim daily driver NOMAD the space utility vehicle. Fighter Pirate Gladius, sit at the cool kids table. Vulture money maker. C8R Pisces with Carrack and Ursa Rover for crew games.
I´ve just seen the thumbnail and had to join on this one because of a recent personal experience as well as many comments about my "issue" in here. Im a Nov. 2013 backer and my best horse inside the garage is a Rear Admiral Pledge with the Silver Collector´s Edition, LTI, 5 Ship Blueprints, Shipmodel.... u know.. the one with the long list ;-)
In terms of things I love im typically the "shut up and take my money" type.
So i have to say... from my perspective the story is true and I feel a bit sad about it :(
What's the best way to make money
Combat and mining.
Right now, mining and bounties
@@Chase_The_Calm_Gaming thx
what about the super hornet?
the hammerhead corvettey
Cutter is only since the game only have progression throu ships (rep only gain more money to use on ships)
Wanting to get a Carrack... several months now waiting. I find CIG's sale strategy stupid. They should have all ships available year round and have discounted sales during events. I have another friend that was getting a Mercury Star Runner but since it wasn't available he spent the money on another game. So if CIG wants to make money, I don't think this sale strategy of hiding ships and making them available only during events is smart.
is this limited free time a case of you play it for free until the deadline then it costs money to play, or is it play it now you get it free forever?
Its free to play till the 30th
Just buy a Avenger Titan, best affordable multirole ship in the game, do missions and buy other ships in game.
I'll buy a ship when the game is released.... maybe.
ill buy a ship if the devs can actually manage to make it far enough to have 3 star systems.
@@quantum5661 Hopefully soon next year
I said that in 3.12.... I'm now $2500 in lol. BUT that's only around $65 a month for the best entertainment online for me.
No you won’t, I’m pretty sure pledging ships will be an Alpha/pre-release thing only based on previous things devs said. The fun part is finding out whether or not that’s true!
Well, if you don’t buy a ship when it’s released I guess you won’t be playing
my favorite ships are the
carrack comes with a rover and pisces
caterpillar
corsair
vulture
retaliator
sentinel i think a temporary loaner super hornet!!!!
warlock
nox is my current place holder for the ranger
these to me are best money spent! these may not be the meta but they are up there in performance and dollar for dollar i think best value as well as all work well solo or in crew or fleet
I love the channel keep it up
But but the scorpius!
man, none of the best ships for me are highlight here. origin 100 series ( small pad, fast, cargo, and bed ) key ship for any fleet of any level.
Did you just say quick and nimble Redeemer?
I wouldn’t buy any ships besides your starter package the game barely runs correctly you’re lucky not to get a 30 K every day or a random server, crash or a random death from your own ship it’s been 10+ years they haven’t really done much with it hell last year I made an inventory system and it was way better than what we have now that’s saying something especially from somebody that doesn’t do game development lol
no a2 or titan
Carrack forever number one!👍🥇
No msr???
How about you don't buy anything and wait for it to come out.
How about people do what they want?
Yo for a Starter, where the bloody Titan?
Cz 90% of the titan upgraded to cutty black
i want the Carrack but i cant afford it
I can't understand buying a game and then constantly buying things for that game with more real money. What happened to you buy the game and you play it, or maybe you have a monthly subscription for a live service game. Buying a game and then spending hundreds or thousands more on stuff in the game is just insane.
In game all of these ships are purchasable it just helps the devs and you don’t have to work for the credits to buy the ship
I have to get used to your voice wich drops down after every sentence :-D
great info but hard to understand with Western ears :)
People still buy into this?
It's prenounced Corvette, not Corvette.
Well done
core-vet
Actually don't buy these ships. At least not until the game is fully released. People need to stop giving them money.
I do hear you however some ships are much cheaper now than later. The Banu Merchantman was 300ish when first on sale, then went to 500, today is 650 and on release the ship will be around 900. If your into the game you can save alot. I've spent $2500 on ships but they are worth $3125 if I bought them today. It's its own meta game lol. Crazy I know lol
Honestly I have spent a lot of money on these ships and I’ll continue doing it since it supports a game I love although it’s not perfect or finished
@@juanguillen29654 I've spent $2600 in 4yrs. That's $54 a month. My entrainment budget monthly is $375. Now Cyberpunk! That was a waste of $80.
Someone always has to come in and be the fun police
You know you can buy these in game right?
DO NOT GIVE CR OR SC ANYMORE MONEY ~!
Never going to happen.
Why? It's the best game I've ever played and it's only alpha and getting better all the time. I've wasted much more on bad games in the past.
@@Chase_The_Calm_Gaming Exactly, the problem I feel that many people have towards star citizen is their constantly looking at what star citizen might be in the future. I personally enjoy the game for what it is now. Anything else that gets added is a plus.
