    In this short video we take a look at this Chevy Express Camper van build we recently fitted with some killer bumpers! We would usually lift the vans but this van got no lift this time around. We fitted this rig with our Front Tube Winch Bumper as well as our Rear Dual Swing Out Bumper. This camper also has an awesome build out going on in the inside. It looks like it's still a work in progress but so far its coming along really nice! Be sure to leave a like and subscribe for more awesome videos!

    Good to see what you can do. Regarding the front lights attached to the bumper, are the led lights around the big center light legal? I had heard that led strip lights in some areas/states are illegal. Consequently some strip lights come with a removable cover or a removable cover can be purchased. Yes that guy is doing a good job on the cabinets, but using particle board (said plywood originally by mistake, sorry) over time will not hold if that is what he is using. The type of screw style is called pocket screws (pocket hole joinery) where I come from. Thank you for showing everything off.

      Plywood won’t hold over time? 🤔

    • @nickjacques6087

      @@PNW_66 Oops, I meant particle board... sorry

    • @PNW_66
      @PNW_66 3 роки тому

      @@nickjacques6087 yeah, particle board has no place in casework construction in any condition in my opinion. The drivers side cabinets are all ultralight cabinet grade plywood. Passenger side is made up of jobsite leftovers (plywood & plyboo). Can't beat free. Everything has 3 coats of water based spar urethane - 2 coats satin, 1 coat gloss.

    Awesome vid! I got an AWD 1500 as well and considering this bumper.. only concern is the low weight limit on the 1500 so I'm curious how much this weights? and even better if you know what the net weight gain is (new bumper weight - stock bumper weight). Thanks!

  • @mattnunes5617
    @mattnunes5617 3 роки тому

    At 25-35 second mark - is that bumper sticking too far out on the passenger side, or is that just the camera lens making it look that way?

    Will you guys ever do a lift kit for the awd 1500? I'm looking to lift mine

    • @PNW_66
      @PNW_66 3 роки тому +3

      I talked to Jeremy about this and it's not in the cards based on the fact that the AWD's aren't made anymore and the quantity of vehicles needed just to break even. But here's the lift on this van: Suspension Maxx MaxxCam2 adjustable torsion keys, Skyjacker H7000 front shocks, Cognito upper control arms w/ limit straps (added after video), 4/1 rear leaf spring pack from General Spring, 1.5" blocks, Bilstein rear shocks. This nets about 3" in the rear and 3-1/2"-4" in the front. For front end suspension parts you want to buy components for 1999-2006 GM light trucks and SUV's. The key componenta are the Cognito UCA's. The UCA's for a Silverado 1500 (and SUV's - Tahoe, Suburban) in that year range are identical to the 2003-2013 1500 Express and will allow you to maintain proper alignment with extra lift - my camber was way positive before putting the Cognito arms in. You can easily run a 285/70/17 tire and probably a 33x12.5 as well with some fender trimming. I always keep an eye on the unsprung weight and try to keep it as low as I can with the tire size I want to run.

      @@PNW_66 is this your van? did you do the boulder off road 6inch lift?

    • @PNW_66
      @PNW_66 2 роки тому +1

      @@Boy_rich yep. I didn't do the boulder kit, I pieced it together using the SuspensionMaxx keys and then figured out the rest based on other kits that were out there and compatible parts from the Silverado chassis. Check out my reply above for the complete parts breakdown. New UCA's are key to getting more than 2" while not having to do any subframe modifications. I think the Boulder 6" kit requires a dropped torsion bar carriage.

    • @briangarcia2358
      @briangarcia2358 3 роки тому +1

      For our AWD vans, there aren’t many bolt on options. There are a few brands of torsion keys, and they are all about the same in quality (2” & 3” keys sold) Then you can turn the torsion nut a bit to gain another inch or so, but inspect ball joints and cv joints when doing this since it will be accessible. Then get an alignment. The other option out there is the boulder off-road 6” lift, but that’s some serious coin. A 3” torsion key lift and a 2 or 3” body lift might get you to clear 35’s

      275/65/18 - I'm going back to what I was running previously though, 285/70/17. I got a killer deal on the Silverado Midnight wheels but I can feel the difference in ride with not as much rubber.
