  • Hey you guys! Today I'm sharing my calorie hacks for weight loss with you - as well as my point system (Liezl Jayne's Point System)
    Basically how to "count" calories without going "crazy"! This is how I lost 40+ Lbs without "counting" every calorie.

    Hey you guys! Sorry I've been MIA this month - I've been putting this together for you! Haha, seriously :) This is a longer video, but I really hope that it can be helpful to you if you have been struggling with calories, and getting obsessive with counting calories, or have been feeling frustrated about losing weight. There is no such thing as a "weight loss secret" (unfortunately, lol) BUT - this is the closest thing (that has helped me such a great deal)! You guys have asked me so many times to talk about my point system eating plan - so here it is "Liezl Jayne's Point System"!! Give the entire video a good watch because - even though it's long, I wanted to explain it to you as clearly as possible so that you could all understand.     The sad part for me is I have become amazing at counting calories, because of anorexia. I used to restrict all the time and would read the labels for things, and now I know almost the exact number of calories some food has just by looking at it.

      I'm not anorexic but I count calories and I know how many calories a lot of things are too. There's noting wrong with being informed about what's in your food, you just need to do things in a responsible way.

      Omg same. Even without looking at the labels of the food now I know the exact amount of calories. I want to eat without worrying but it's impossible🤷‍♀️

    what is seriously getting on my nerves and in my way to lose weight is that vegetables and fruits are hella expensive here.
    like in order to eat healthy you must have enough money ..

      Where do you live? Its quite cheap in germany as long as its not too exotic.

      In the US especially during winter months in NY fruits and veggies are really expensive so I try to shop seasonally and along with what I find on sale..I’ve been finding blueberries and strawberries on sale ..that’s not saying much though ..I’ve just been trying to do my best 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

      It's been about two months. It's slowed down a bit now, but I'm ten pounds from my goal weight, so I expected that. I'm hoping to add exercise in starting next week during my Spring Break.

      Melissa Garcia mostly overnight oats with peanut butter and raisins, and some combination of quinoa and stir fried veggies.

    I have lost 47 kg and counting. My approach is this:
    1 - Exercise more
    2 - Eat SMALLER portions
    3 - Replace sweets, junk food and coke with protein shakes

    I get it, so simple so smart. Like you explained, you still need to know your measurements and account for well-rounded nutrients, but it becomes memory. You really take in to count how to make the most of your meals because you don't want to be hungry or unsatisfied for picking poor choice. You really brought perspective and It's astonishing to think of how easy it is to overeat. I could just hug you!!

    its literally the same thing as couting calories, since you have to know how much food equals to a certain amount of calories... i dont see the point

      I think it helps a lot because then you get to compare & make better food choices. For example, instead of eating that 100 cal worth of Chips (for a snack), it would be better to eat 100 cal worth of Nuts or Fruits instead as it will be much more filling + you’d be able to eat more of it. You can probably portion out the food in advance & eat without thinking too much about it so you aren’t measuring out food on a daily basis.

      It's similar to counting calories but it's not the same. Some foods have (for example) 247 calories, and you can round that up or down based on how much of that food you eat. If you're always counting very specifically like 247 cal + 123 cal + 538 cal your mind can be very obsessed... if you round it to a number such as 100 or 200, etc it's much easier and healthier for your mind and body

    6 months ago I was overweight and miserable not knowing how to lose it. I watched your videos and it was so refreshing to hear you promoting tracking calories in a healthy way! I realised I was eating waaaayy too much and I’ve used your points system to track my eating without getting obsessive. I’ve lost 20lbs so far, not the fastest ever but I’ve been able to sustain it easily and know I’ll keep it off. Thanks so much for your help!!

      zakiah tukes no not for that reason. Because this makes more sense. It cost me 11 WW points to have 2 pieces of plain dark chocolate. This makes way more sense.

      zakiah tukes Nothing in weight loss is revolutionary. It’s a well-studied science. People can only make it easier, cheaper or more interesting, or find other ways to boost nutrients with less load.

    This is probably the clearest and easiest way to keep track of what I'm eating. I've always tried to strictly track macros and I know it's also a good way to reach my goal but it gets so difficult balancing everything out and I lose motivation to do it so easily. This makes it simple, easy, and it doesn't drive me crazy!! I'm gonna make a list to hang on the fridge to guide me when I'm meal prepping and i know to include all food groups in each meal!

    So, in order to use your "method" you would need to check the calorie chart anyway. I don't see the point of this. I tent to round up my calories anyway. Its supposed to be a guide so you don't go too far from your calorie goal, that's all.

      Yes, but you only have to track the calories and write down the serving sizes once. Just follow the serving size and you're done. Whilst with calorie counting you have to weight everything, everytime you're eating

    But how is that easier than counting calories? You are still counting calories but just transfering them as points. Just count the calories and track them in an app? Anyway glad it helps you. This seems really complicated to me.

      its in a way better than counting small and uneven numbers like 30,40,150 etc adding up by 100’s is less complicated for some not for me tho

    I have been counting my calories for like a year, weighing every single meal. I got so tired of it. :/ But when I don´t count calories, I simply start eating bad foods and gross things. :D I can´t help it. So I guess you have just saved me. Thanks. ♥

      I feel that too. It kinda makes me more focus on my task of eating more healthy or at least eat less unhealthy food. And not counting calories makes me forget about my "responsability" of eating well 😅😅

I've struggled with my weight my whole life, and I actually have to loose A LOT and I haven't been able to with all the diets I've done.     I LOVE it!! I get anxiety, stress, and obsessions from counting calories! I think this is a really great approach to have a predefined portion of all the foods that I eat and distribute it to my meals.

    This video is underrated. This is how I’ve kinda been counting when I can remember. The only meal I have down so far is my favorite breakfast. You just gave me the reassurance to keep pushing thru will all my meals. The having a least idea is genius, thank you!

    yes! same here! I was always curvy (never FAT, I had beautiful curves) and I hated that (I was so stupid!). I was so obssesed with counting my calories it made me crazy.. I lowered my calories to 1000 because I wanted better results faster, then to 800 then to 500 and.. well I was so hungry I binged eat and then ran to the bathroom. I had bulimia for 3 years (on and off) .I realized it was so horrible, what I was doing to myself and I started to eat normally, cause I craved everything. I gained a lot of weight but I did not even care because I did not want to go back to my old bad habits. Now I eat healthy and I count my calories like you- just by my eyes and I listen to my body. I never feel horrible after eating anymore, I am so happy. I love myself and I would never hurt myself again like that. I make small progress, but I dont mind because it is healthy.

    I love how much you stress the point of always putting your health first and not focusing too much on losing weight and becoming skinnier. I also love how you talk about not starving yourself and eating more calorie dense meals instead of not eating enough calories!

    Wow that is gonna help me so much! I am tracking every single calorie since September 2017. The digital scale is my best friend since then. I mean I lost already about 10kg but hey, maybe I can loose the rest 4 kg now more easier? I hope so!! Because at the moment I stuck! Thank you ❤️ you are such an inspiration for me!!

    This is actually sorta how I eat but I don't do points and no cal count . I eat different food groups do portion size :) but honestly it's almost similar which makes me happy cause I always enjoy your videos.

    Counting "points" isn't actually simpler than counting calories. You're just counting calories, but dividing them by 100 and calling them points.
    What is helpful about this system is the idea of splitting food into 100 calorie portions. It makes it much easier to count calories since you're adding 100 at a time. The issue comes when your food doesn't split nicely into 100 calorie portions.
    It is also helpful to think about rounding your calories. It's much simpler to count 150, 100 and 250 calories, than 147, 103 and 251.

    You're 1 point for every 100 calories is actually a really great idea, I am going to try that out although I am going to do a bit of counting my macros along with it as I find that helps with weight loss/management. :)
