@@PCBuilderChannel definitely will! the CPU was on sale on Amazon for $119.99 so splurged a little with Montech Air case with ARGB fans because she wants black and red look 😆 we are excited!
This guy is a pc God. Just getting back into pc gaming and looking for prebuilts until I found this channel . Even if you've never touched a computer before in your life you can build an amazing capable gaming pc with the help of this man's videos mad respect brother . The very best most informative content out there
Thank you so much for the awesome feedback! I actually started the channel after I came back to pc gaming myself and wished there was a channel to catch me up. It means a lot that its helpful (:
@@PCBuilderChannel No problem man you deserve it, I hope UA-cam is monetizing you well . i have a question would a 6750XT be bottle necked by the 12100f or should i just stick with a 6600 . the 6750xt is only 100$ more rn . And also i have a 1080p 60hz monitor , the 1080ps fine i guess but would i need a higher refresh rate monitor for the that CPU and GPU combo?
The budget mobo's you called out are the very ones I have been using in my build-to-sell projects in last 6 months. They are awesome and flawless. Highly recommend.
Just got a 6700xt for $245.99 off eBay for a secondary build, got the whole pc build @$767 with a 7500f. And I just wanted to say tysm Jason you’ve genuinely taught me everything ik about pc building
Nice work on the video. Lots of very useful information here. I especially appreciate you explaining the subtle difference between the Acer 1440p monitors.
Great video! you summed up the pc building market in one video. I'm still amazed how far we have come in two years. A killer 1440p gamer for $650. Now that is cheap. Especially the price of monitors.
🙂 yup, i didnt know that many gaming monitors have come down a bit in price, because of that I went to Microcenter this weekend and picked up a second monitor for my rig, yay
Jason!! I finally got around to buying a Bit Fenix Nova Mesh for one of my builds and I'm blown away by the value and quality of this thing. My ONLY gripe is that the front panel connectors aren't consolidated. 9.9/10 Would definitely buy again though!
Just built my pc over this past weekend thanks to your videos, recommended by my brother who really appreciated them too!!! Thank you so much Jason! 🎉🎉🙌
@@FERKILL377 agree, cheap and performance is insane. I heard they have a new 360 AIO LCD cooler name Thermalright Frozen Warfare ARGB. You should check it out, the specs is very good
I know it's a bit pricier than these options, but for 'good value' PC cases I love the Lancool 216. Three good quality PWM fans and plenty of space and a modular design, love it!
🙂 sure, i have a couple of Lian Li's , right now my goto is the Lian Li 011 EVO because its one of the few cases in the world that you can flip upside down and put the case next to your left hand, why is nobody else doing that? make it make sense? i cant have it on the right hand side 😠
Thanks for your help Jason! I just bought, through your links - Ryzen 5500($83), Radeon RX 7600 XT - 16G GPU ($298), GIGABYTE B550M AORUS Elite($109) and 64mgs of RAM. This is my first build... fingers crossed I can put all this together, lol. Also, subbed and liked.
Great budget brand! Same with Gigabyte. MSI had a lot of offerings previously but seems they have stopped making a couple of their best value budget B550s and B660 boards.
@@PCBuilderChannel I’ve heard MSI and Gigabyte have been fairly unreliable recently, so that’s why I went asrock for my budget build, but they also have some reaaaaaally competitive pricing
Same here, I got the ASRock Z690 PG Velocita when it was on sale for less than $200 and I have their phantom gaming a770 16gb. Both have been very reliable and especially with the Mobo, priced really well with tons of features. Definitely recommending them to others.
Great one Jason! Since Ai is the thing now, why don't you start building pc which is capable of running LLM inference locally with Ollama alike. Different HW combo, different tokens/s speed. On top of that, the same pc can play games too! Consider it! 😁
Jason, thank you for this video in particular. I am upgrading my PC from an AMD Bulldozer (yes, I said Bulldozer) to an AMD 5 5600X, I just scored an XFX RX6700 brand new from Best Buy for $269. I know it's has 10 GB VRAM but it's what I could afford right now. I am using some of the recommendations for the mid-range build. It's been a while since I had to upgrade and I have been out of the loop, but your videos really helped me quickly get up to speed. Thank you again Jason.
🙂 thats fine, the only reason to get the 6700 is because its the biggest video card you can run with only a single 8pin power supply plug, it uses less electricity which is a good thing. As for the bulldozer rig if you have a decent ATX motherboard and its still working and its rock solid reliable then I suggest upgrading the cpu to an 8core FX 8300 or better, install 16GB of ram and a video card and turn it into a lower tier Gaming PC, and then either keeping it as a backup computer or you can sell it or you can donate it
Getting to build again after all most a year found a coworker who’s brother wants a rig for his kids so I told him I would do it no charge if he buys the parts so I am definitely excited thanks for all your content as all ways
We go up to about $850 here. See our Best Builds April and/or March as those have higher price points and are still valid. Though you may want to wait a month to see what AMD & NVIDIA announce at the beginning of January before settling on a build at $1000 or more.
Hi Jason. There are two ways to plan your PC build: what you are willing to pay and what you desire to play. I chose the latter because it guides me in selecting the components I'll need to play a game in the desired detail. The game maker will suggest what you need to have. They usually break the requirements into three choices: good, better, or best. My suggestion is different from what you show in this video.
Each build is different for me. I normally start with one component, and build around it. I rarely pick the best the best price to performance afterwards, mainly going with the best price.
@@zeroturn7091 Thanks for your reply. I always enjoy reading them. When I'm asked buy someone, who wants to get into PCs and gaming, what components they should buy, I always tell them the MB is the most important, even though it might cost more.
This is exactly what I was looking for thanks for making this awesome guide its been more than 3 years I am following your channel and to be honest you have never disappointed.
CC560 case was also $59. Tasteful fan lighting. Nothing I don't need other than that. I'm loving tempered glass sides on these cheap cases as well. I have cats with claws that ruined some of the old cases with some type of acrylic viewing window.
I know you mostly cover gaming builds, but would love to see suggestions on a production build at different price points to see how it differs. I likely will be putting 1k, give or take, into a production focused PC soon and would love the advice. Thanks!
So the good news is the rules for good production pcs are basically the same as gaming with a little more emphasis on getting a more powerful CPU. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video and pay attention to the CPUs we recommend per combo for production
Never stop watching these video Jason, always enjoyable, even though I don't need an upgrade. I have a question (even though I am in Australia) at what price point do you recommend moving from AM4 to even base AM5 (7600), I feel like it's about the $1000usd but I I could be wrong
Another board to possibly avoid is the all white AsRock B550 Pro SE that I've read isn't allow to overclock the CPU. It was well priced at $75 earlier this year when it launched.
I’m completely new to building pcs and everything that goes along with it, so this kind of video is extremely helpful!!! Would the $550 computer be able to run World of Warcraft Dragonflight at at least 100 fps?
🙂 that video game is actually harder to run then I first thought? Im thinking something like an RX 6700 XT 12GB at minimum, plan b 7700 XT 12 GB or better, or u can pickup a 12GB invidia card but thats going to be a bit more money, its up to you
Depending on your settings absolutely. FOR THE HORDE! And hey if you're new to PC building check out our PC Parts Explained 2024 video, it might help give a general overview
Honestly I been trying to get back in your videos recently so I can build and sell PCs. I want people to get on the world of PC than Xbox and PS4 since they have cost so much and have so much power but yet it's not being used to the max. While pc is just more than gaming and it can get you into a ton of things, school work, finding jobs, art and much more. Gonna sell local but one of the things I need to learn is buying windows since I don't understand how much that works. But thanks for getting me this far.
I’ve binge watched all your videos! I want to build my first PC and I’m struggling to the pull the trigger because I’m currently on a budget for 1080p to low 1440p gaming but in a few months I can afford more. Prices are great at the moment. Should I wait or should I go for it?
I'd factor in your time as well, it has value too. And there are parts like RAM and Storage that are going up so I'd consider at least grabbing those now if you know what you plan to build.
Great video, Jason and team. I'm wondering if I should swap out my 2x8GB DDR4 kit for 2x16. Now that I can game at 1440p, I'm noticing that my system RAM usage sometimes bounces around 15GB when FSR and Fluid Motion are enabled.
@@PCBuilderChannel that could cause more headaches, getting identical sets might be impossible because of manufacturing changes and even if it is possible your imc might run the 4 slower and for $55 bucks I'd avoid those headaches or just do nothing
🙂 theres a few games out there that go over 16GB of system ram but that also is because maybe your video card vram is too small and the computer is allocating the system ram as video ram. Pickup a video card with 24GB of Vram and maybe then you will notice that the system ram is way below 16gb of system ram. Don't forget to clean install Windows and disable any Startup Apps that your not using cause too many things get added to that list that you really dont need.
Hi Jason! Lovely builds as always :3 the 500$ one especially is a knockout for such a low price point, not sure if youve covered it on another video but would you recommend making the stretch to a 900$ or even 1k$ build to get up to AM5 with a 7600? I know the 5600X is already a great deal, but maybe moving to the "current" platform would make the system last longer?
So Jason has says around $1000 is the starting price point for AM5 to make sense. If it helps, here's a build for you. It's list / VCR7jH in PC Part Picker
You know what we actually just launched a video today that has a sample AM5 build at $900! Its our new Boost My Build episode so check that out and compare it with the builds here to see what's best for you
Hey Jason. It’s almost time to upgrade for me. My system has 11900k, Asus Tuf RTX 3080ti, Asus tuff z690 plus wifi, Aresgame 1000w PSU, trident 32g of 4000 ddr4. Would the best bang for my 500-700 upgrade budget be to upgrade my CPU +Mobo or to go with a 4090? I’m willing to bet that the 3080ti with 11th gen is not the bottle neck. I think the bottle neck is the CPU, what are your thoughts? Can I squeak out more performance from my 3080ti with a new CPU or should I save up for a 4080 super? I play games like Deep Rock Glactic and Cyberpunk. I play on an LG oled TV so rez is 4K @60. I do use ray tracing. Please tell me what you think would be my best path for upgrade?
Your build is too new and already upper tier. I would wait for next year because both amd and intel are coming out with new chips and intel coming out with a whole new LGA Motherboard platform. Avoid the 4090 it is highly unreliable with tons of cracked circuit boards and the gpu chips are being torn off and the 12v plug is catching fire. As far as your aresgame 1000watt power supply you need to replace it immediately, the PSU TIER LIST has blacklisted that manufacturer, go pickup something from the Tier C list ASAP
@@MrSamadolfo the Corsair RM 1000e is 140 from Newegg. Would you recommend this PSU? Why is the Asesgaming on the blacklist? Questionable parts? Seems to be working fine but I am not one to wait until it fails. Thank you for letting me know. I had an exploding gigabyte before this one. Seems my choice for PSUs are not so good.
@@douglasturman635 I checked tomshardware, they opened up an aresgame, the layout of the circuit board is an outdated design, maybe like from i7-4790 Haswell Era, it uses some of the old school bulky chinese capacitors brown black instead of the modern smaller silver capacitors from japan. And when they load tested it its not 80 Gold but 80 White or Bronze. If its working fine then keep it around for emergency backup use only and for testing a used motherboard to see if it boots up. Yes the corsair RMe 1000w is the cheapest tier A psu and in the box it should have the invdia cable for the new RTX 40 cards. There three other psu that are slightly more money from Tier A and they all seem to have the invidia cable included in the box: Montech Titan Gold, NZXT C Gold 1200W, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1200W, thers a few more on the Tier A but rite now they are double the price. Prices fluctuate so you might want to check all the online stores but right now as of today the cheapest listing is the Corsair RM1000e and its a very recent offering from only last year 2023, don't forget to pickup some colored AsiaHorse psu cable extensions, i like white or red or blue =)
Getting 2 Koorui 27" 1440p (27E3Q) 170hz monitors suppose to arrive this Tuesday. Hopefully they are good. Gone are the days of 1080p 24 inch 60hz I suppose.
Tbh tho, we got some pretyy great budget options now like the intel b580, which for 250$, isnt really that bad of s gpu, and it comes with 12gigs of vram which is plenty for 1080p and 1440p
Heya Jason - new subscriber here, as I am just getting back into the world of PC building after nearly a decade. I was wondering if there is a way to send you some proposed build's I am thinking about on PC Parts Picker, as I'd love your opinions. In any case, thanks for the amazing, and enthusiastic, content!
Hello! Thanks for the sub and welcome back to pc building! I actually started the channel after a break and wished there was a channel to catch me up. Check out our Boost My Build series, we will be calling for lists again later this month. But we obviously can't cover everyones lists so I recommend posting to PC Part Picker forums as well.
I bought a crappy HP Pavilion prebuilt during the GPU shortages back in 2022 for $750. I'm going to use one of your builds to make something good for ~$1500.
If it helps here's a build for you if you're using your PC for Gaming. This is if you bring nothing over from your current PC. It's list / NzyWQP in PC Part Picker
@@PCBuilderChannel Unfortunately my pc is a majority OEM and the only things that are SI are the RX 5500 (GPU) and R3 5300G (CPU), which suck. The case is horrible as well, so I'll be building one from scratch and give the old one to my baby brother. You're channel has so much knowledge on the subject and I feel confident in whatever I buy thanks to your videos.
There are actually some hella deals on the XFX 6800 non-xt cards right now at around $360 USD. This would be my #1 pick for an entry level 1440p budget build.
Hi Jason! Firstly, thank you for the great video, I have learnt lots from you hehe. I currently have a 9400f + 1060 6gb pc, and am thinking of bringing my 550W psu, ssd and hdd from my old build to my new build. Would you recommend that I get the A750 + 13400f, considering that the games I play are mostly turn based rpgs like persona 5, strategy like civ vi, and perhaps genshin impact? I'm actually still satisfied with my current build (~5 yrs) but I wanted to downsize it from an ATX to ITX, so I might as well change up some parts haha!
Thank you! The 13400F is just a down-clocked 12600KF, and you can get that for $150-ish right now and get better performance for less. No idea why they charge so much for the 13400F to be honest. I recommend going DDR4 as there really isn't much benefit to DDR5 and the boards are more expensive. The ASRock B660M is actually quite a good board for the 12600K. The PSU is the one component that ages the fastest, and I typically recommend just buying a new one (GPUs and CPUs by comparison can be good for decades). Hope that helps!
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks Jason! In my country, the 12600KF is of similar pricing to 13400F haha, and the 12400F is close to $80 less than the 13400F. Perhaps 12400F would be the better choice for myself? As Im going ITX, I can't really find a ddr4 board here anymore unfortunately ):
hey how are you, sorry I have a question and you seem to know about components, I currently have a mb b450 with a ryzen 5600g, for a gpu I have an ina rx 6600, I was thinking of changing to an mb 550 with a ryzen 5700x, it would be worth doing the change to have more performance in games?@@kelley09162
Its frustrating when that happens! I recommended checking back occasionally they will likely drop again. And check out our Best Gaming Monitor 2024 video for more options
Nice builds. Just note for Monitors MSI has 2 new 1080p ones and 1 new 4K for good prices and ASRock has 2 new 1440p ones for good prices. Reviews so far are good. For 1080p MSI has The G244PF E2 which is a 23.8 inch 180hz IPS Monitor for $120 The G274PF which is a 27 inch 180hz IPS Monitor for $150 For 1440p ASRock has The PG27QFT1B which is a 27 inch 180hz IPS Monitor for $189 The PG27QFT2A which is a 27 inch 180hz IPS Monitor for $191 The difference between the two is the PG27QFT2A comes with a stand that has an integrated Wi-Fi antenna. For 4K MSI has MPG 274URF QD which is a 27 inch 160hz IPS Monitor for $430
🙂 sweet, yes I noticed recently that Microcenter has lowered the prices on many gaming monitors, u have a better budget selection now on the 1080s and 1440s, I suggest picking one that says that it officially supports amd freesync, if you have an invidia card then see if any of the gsync monitors have come down in price
What case would you recommend for a mini Tower?I need it to be close in sizes to the Aerocool Atomic Mini Tower mATX black. I'm stuck in mATX at the moment.
🙂 sure bro, amazon started selling a new super cute little fish tank case, its called 'Okinos Aqua 3, Micro ATX Case' and three argb 120mm case fans are included with the case, it has a tiny argb controller mounted in the back of the case and the control panel has a button for the argb, so you dont need an argb motherboard to control the colors. I just bought the case and its pretty decent. They have it in black and theres a white version: $60 / $65
@@MrSamadolfo indeed it does look nice! However it’s not available in Europe yet. And if I were to buy it from the US I’d pay almost the case’s price in shipping :/ Any other suggestions?

Yes we are starting to see games that have a bottleneck on the 12100f and the 12400 is on sale right now so I'd consider doing that if you're worried about the types of games you play with it
@@PCBuilderChannel Unfortunately in my country only the R5 5500 and I3 12100F is within my budget. Do you think the R5 5500 is better for future releases since it has more cores and threads even though its a bit slower compared to the i3
This video is super helpful!! What kind of games can these PCs run? I mainly want to play like fiveM gta, ark survival, lethal company, Minecraft and some others on steam. Would any of these PCs be good for those? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
So glad its helpful! We actually cover the benchmarks in the video on much tougher games. All of these would run these fine its just a matter of what resolution and settings you are aiming for
@@crayon9374also if building new Jason would recommend a AM5 PC over an AM4 one with a 5700X3D or 5800X3D. If you want I can help you pick out parts I just need to know your budget.
Sadly that CPU will bottleneck the heck out of that GPU. I would recommend going 7600 with that or the 4070 super ti. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more on bottleneck
I really appreciate your instructional videos. I'm currently building a new system that will utilize my Hisense 75U8K. B650 Tomahawk, 7800X3D. I will not spend the money for the 4090. At the same time, do you have a video that explains all the different feature sets (RT, DLSS, etc.)? I'm building this system since my daughter talked me into BG3. Thanks for your time and help.
I don't blame you for not wanting to spend the money on the 4090. The 7900XTX would be a great pair with the 7800X3D. So would the 4080 Super but it's a little more vs the XTX.
That Big 4K TV officially supports AMD Freesync so logic would dictate a 16GB or better Radeon video card so that you can take advantage of Freesync. Thats a pretty big TV, is this gaming rig going to be setup in the living room or something? Don't use the smart function of the tv, use your pc and boot up the Brave Browser to watch videos. Depending on how this TV and PC is situated in the living room I highly recommend picking up a portable small table and a wireless gaming keyboard and a wireless gaming mouse and a wireless xbox controller. Bring up the table up to the TV screen to play certain video games because some pc games were never meant to be played from a couch that is too far back and the text is way too small to read. Also with the table close up to the TV you can get some productivity work done using the browser or office stuff or do some online shopping. Now if you have the TV mounted really high up then I suggest purchasing a small Standing Table and a Tall Height Drafting Chair like you see at some businesses or a Tall Height Kitchen Counter Chair. Have a good weekend and happy cinco de mayo =)
Great video as always! Just wondering what you think about the Acer Nitro XB273U 180Hz Gaming Monitor. It seems to be a good one. Thanks, Jayson! more power!
🙂 its a GSync Monitor which means it costs alot more than a more afforable AMD Freesync Monitor. I'm assuming u need the Gsync because your running an Invidia video card? If ur not running invidia then look for an amd freesync monitor instead.
what is the difference between nvme m.2 ssd vs ssd sata? is it both a storage? what should i buy first? I'm planning to build my own pc and I'm really lost on that part.
Hey Jason, I'm just curious as to what the Price in the US is for the: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 Motherboard? And could you possibly do a 'Review' on this Motherboard in the Future, so I'll know I made the Right Choice for my PC & for my friend Jeff's New Build!
🙂 it looks decent, make sure ur updating the bios regularly, set your fan curves, set the ram speed, back off the cpu settings if your cpu is getting hot and going over 70
I just got my CPU Cooler for my build 2 days ago. I got the Noctua NH-D15. That leaves 4 components left before I can put my PC together. 5 if you count the case fans. As I’m putting Noctua case fans in my case. I still have the CPU, GPU, motherboard, and the PSU. I’m going with the Ryzen 5 7600x and RX 6600. They’re going to be used as backups when I can get a Ryzen 7 7800x3D and Sapphire Tech Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX. As right now I don’t have a PC at all. So I’m getting the best components I can that don’t require any money saving at all. And have an upgrade path straight to top of the line. As I already have 32GB DDR5 6000MHz G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM. So anything but the Ryzen 5 7600 or 7600x is out of the question. As anything but those don’t have an upgrade path past the Ryzen 5000 series. Which means any recs for any 5000 series or older will be ignored. Intel recs will be ignored as well. As I recently heard that something wonky is going on right now with Intel CPU’s that making them unstable. Besides, AMD is the better choice for gaming anyhow. Especially once I can upgrade to the Ryzen 7 7800x3D and RX 7900 XTX.
Jason, wondering if you have a current video on your recommendation for a PC build for “Only Sim Racing” use with triple monitors. I’m venturing into this world and feel uncomfortable with all the options.
Budget for PC is no more than $2000, any savings would be great. As for monitors, I haven’t purchased anything yet, but no more than 32” and 1440p - 27” works as well. If I’m approaching things incorrectly, let me know because I’m a novice at this.

Hi Jason, im abit confused, the 750 dollars midrange 1440p gaming pc appears to be worse than the "4K Gaming is CHEAP! 🛑 Ultimate Ryzen 5800X3D Gaming PC Build" video you did a yearish ago. Am i right in saying that? I'm looking to buy new under 1000 and cant decide which to go for. I just want to play world of warcraft at 4k ultra 60fps. Please help.
Not sure what you mean by worse but recommendations change a lot in the pc world as new parts launch and prices come down. You're going to want to focus on getting a powerful GPU with a CPU that just won't bottleneck it. The problem with a fresh 5800X3D build now is its too expensive to justify and will cost you the proper GPU. If you are going to spend that much on a CPU now you want to go up to a 7600 or 7600X depending on which is cheaper to get you into the latest platform rather than buying into a dead platform. Check out our latest "best builds" video from July there's a great sample 7600 build there that I think would be great for you.
This is our Best Budget Builds video so we trying to save every penny. And there's some price to performance considerations as you get higher with your GPU choice. Check out our latest GPU Market Update video for more on that

3:32 PC Builder, why would you suggest DDR4 only motherboards? DDR5 prices are competitive and will pair nicely with a future CPU upgrade if needed. I don't get that recomendation?
I want to spend as little on the Mobo and RAM as possible at these budgets, and DDR5 RAM just isn't comparable to a $35 RAM kit. Also the DDR5 boards are more expensive for some odd reason. Going DDR5 will cost you in terms of the GPU you are able to buy.
@@auntiepha8343can't buy two sticks of 8gb ram in DDR5 is the issue, that's why for a cost effective build the DDR4 boards ate the go to... if you are getting 32gb then yeah go DDR5 all day
Overall the 650USD option is the closest experience to PS5. For competitive titles even the 550USD build will be superior to PS5. 750USD and 850USD are more expensive but better value.
Even the $500 will give you a similar experience to console and actually better in some games. And you have the added advantage that you can do other things on a PC unlike a console, and you can upgrade it in the future unlike a console! I'd take a look at your favorite games in the benchmarks we provide in the description to get a sense of which budget build here is best for you

Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120, unbeatable performane for the price
@@FERKILL377 agree, cheap and performance is insane. I heard they have a new 360 AIO LCD cooler name Thermalright Frozen Warfare ARGB. You should check it out, the specs is very good

Great cooler for many CPUs.
I know it's a bit pricier than these options, but for 'good value' PC cases I love the Lancool 216. Three good quality PWM fans and plenty of space and a modular design, love it!
He is recommending micro atx boards mainly, that case is really good but better for higher budget builds.
I also love that case but it is pricey for these budget levels. At $1000 and up, I'd definitely consider it.

I love asrock. My mobo and gpu are asrock and I have no complaints! They fit the budget and get the job done exceptionally well
Great budget brand!

Why? Get a 6750XT $300 from newegg before it sells out.
🙂 thats fine, the only reason to get the 6700 is because its the biggest video card you can run with only a single 8pin power supply plug, it uses less electricity which is a good thing. As for the bulldozer rig if you have a decent ATX motherboard and its still working and its rock solid reliable then I suggest upgrading the cpu to an 8core FX 8300 or better, install 16GB of ram and a video card and turn it into a lower tier Gaming PC, and then either keeping it as a backup computer or you can sell it or you can donate it
That's a good combo! So glad we could help

Great video Jason! Can you do an intermediate and high end budget next?

Let’s go Jason!!! #CatDads!
Cats say hi!! They are driving me crazy this morning though! :)
Great video, Jason and team. I'm wondering if I should swap out my 2x8GB DDR4 kit for 2x16. Now that I can game at 1440p, I'm noticing that my system RAM usage sometimes bounces around 15GB when FSR and Fluid Motion are enabled.
It's a $55 upgrade if you don't resell the 2x8 so I'd say yes, I do think your system is just using all the ram it can though and it's not an issue
Certainly could if you want. Could also add in an identical kit to your existing one and go 4x8GB.

@@PCBuilderChannelthis is the most detailed reply that I have read on this channel.
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks Jason! In my country, the 12600KF is of similar pricing to 13400F haha, and the 12400F is close to $80 less than the 13400F. Perhaps 12400F would be the better choice for myself?

I might aswell ask. Is the Ryzen 7 7700X and the 7900 GRE a good 1440p combo? Ive watched too many videos at this point and genuinely can't tell anymore 😭
Great combo
Edit: I also agree that of you can get a $350 7800X3D it's an improvement but if you can't that combo is only a half a tier lower
Totally fine, but I'd spend the extra $60 and get the 7800X3D IMO.
He said it then I am no one to say anything....
Yes it's good. Though if you have an extra $50, 7800x3d would be even better. There have been several sales where it goes down to ~$350-370.
😒 id go for a 3D chip and either the GRE or wait and pu an XT or XTX cause all those cards seem to be coming down in price, theres some sort of Deflation going on?
What's the difference between an ARGB header and a ARGB LEd header? Could I plug a fan ARGB header into the ARGB LEd header? They are both 3 pin 5v just curious if that's an ok thing to do
I had a trouble with this, I bought the second build and I feel confident I built everything correctly. Every time I turn on the pc it gives three long beeps and power offs and turns on and repeats, any advicev
Amazing video❤ Planning to go with the i3 12100f but worried if it won't have enough cores and threads for future games😢
Do you think the R5 5500 is better for future releases since it has more cores and threads even though its a bit slower compared to the i3
@@BunbBonboth perform similarly so just go with whichever CPU and Motherboard combo are cheapest.
This video is super helpful!! What kind of games can these PCs run? I mainly want to play like fiveM gta, ark survival, lethal company, Minecraft and some others on steam. Would any of these PCs be good for those? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I'm guessing they would run them fine. What's your budget for this PC?
So glad its helpful! We actually cover the benchmarks in the video on much tougher games. All of these would run these fine its just a matter of what resolution and settings you are aiming for
@@kelley09162 I would say max 1k since this pc build is on my brothers budget he’s been wanting a pc for a while and I’m just trying to help him out!
@@PCBuilderChannel thank you for your help I really appreciate it lil bro is going to be stoked on his PC build!!
Off topic question: is 4080 super + 5800x a decent combo? ( 2k gaming)
No. You'd want a 5700X3D or 5800X3D CPU instead. You can also go lower on the GPU for a good 2K Gaming experience.
@@kelley09162 would a 4070ti super do the job? Thanks for the responses btw!
@@crayon9374yes it would
@@crayon9374also if building new Jason would recommend a AM5 PC over an AM4 one with a 5700X3D or 5800X3D.
If you want I can help you pick out parts I just need to know your budget.
Sadly that CPU will bottleneck the heck out of that GPU. I would recommend going 7600 with that or the 4070 super ti. See our Best GPU/CPU Combo 2024 video for more on bottleneck
No no no ! ;) .
Great video Jason !

Thanks for watching!

Which CPU/GPU combo do you recommend for avoiding bottle neck in the mango freeze line?
Haha yes it is Jazzfest time. This is a very inside baseball joke for anyone else reading this.
Check out our Ryzen 7600 build guide for more help. Could consider one of these builds BTW on AM4 to upsize that GPU as well. Good luck!
Jason, wondering if you have a current video on your recommendation for a PC build for “Only Sim Racing” use with triple monitors. I’m venturing into this world and feel uncomfortable with all the options.
What's your budget and do you have the Monitors?
Budget for PC is no more than $2000, any savings would be great. As for monitors, I haven’t purchased anything yet, but no more than 32” and 1440p - 27” works as well. If I’m approaching things incorrectly, let me know because I’m a novice at this.
@@dfedon4 does that $2000 budget include the Monitors or are those a separate purchase?
@@kelley09162 no. Monitors as a separate budget item.
@@dfedon4 so here's a build for you. I included 3 good budget 1440p Monitors. If you prefer Curved ones let me know and I can switch them.

None of the gpu's in the links work right now. It doesnt take you to a specific product. Any working links for products currently available that would work for this build? Thank you!
GPUs are super sold out right now post holiday season and going into new GPUs launches in 2025. These links take you to the search for the type of GPU and yes they are mostly sold through. Check out our Best Builds December video there's a sample list with a 5600X build that's more up to date. But honestly you may need to just sit tight for a few weeks for the GPU market to stabilize a bit.

@@PCBuilderChannel thank you, I really appreciate your reply :)
@JASON - - why so you recommend the RX 6800 (NON XT) in this 850$ build instead of 6800 XT ???? is the 6800 better than the XT version ??????
No. He chose the 6800 because it's cheaper.
This is our Best Budget Builds video so we trying to save every penny. And there's some price to performance considerations as you get higher with your GPU choice. Check out our latest GPU Market Update video for more on that
So the RX 6800 XT 16GB will work for really good 14.4 gaming with a Ryzen 5600X CPU ? No bottleneck, right ??? - - I will get this GPU for only 295$ second hand today, then build the rest of the PC around it.... My PSU is a Chieftec Proton BDF-1000C ... is this enough to power this card ???? MB = Rog Stryx B450 F gaming II is that OK for this graphics card ?
Hey you updated your sponsor message haha I like it.
haha yes! (;
3:32 PC Builder, why would you suggest DDR4 only motherboards? DDR5 prices are competitive and will pair nicely with a future CPU upgrade if needed.
I don't get that recomendation?
Yes but in this video he's only doing budget builds and DDR4 makes sense for those.
For Mid-Range and up though you should go DDR5.
@@kelley09162 I get it.
But if you see a DDR5 motherboard that is cheaper than the exact DDR4 motherboard, avoid the DDR5 one?? LOL
@@auntiepha8343can't buy two sticks of 8gb ram in DDR5 is the issue, that's why for a cost effective build the DDR4 boards ate the go to... if you are getting 32gb then yeah go DDR5 all day
@@PCBuilderChannel Ok then, I concede. 👍

Hey I’m really new to PC world, I’m a console gamer looking to build something that will be comparable to PS5. Will any of these do that? Thanks
Overall the 650USD option is the closest experience to PS5. For competitive titles even the 550USD build will be superior to PS5. 750USD and 850USD are more expensive but better value.
🙂 theres alot of games that are not on play station so i suggest getting something stronger than what you would find in a console
@@zzavatski thank you for the reply that helps
@@MrSamadolfo thank you , that’s kind of my plan
Even the $500 will give you a similar experience to console and actually better in some games. And you have the added advantage that you can do other things on a PC unlike a console, and you can upgrade it in the future unlike a console! I'd take a look at your favorite games in the benchmarks we provide in the description to get a sense of which budget build here is best for you
