With potential new graphics cards coming soon, October Prime Day right around the corner, and Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals in November, it feels like waiting could save a lot of money or offer better options. If someone can hold off a bit longer, it might be worth it given all the big deals and releases coming up
I disagree personally for a lot of builders. The sales are never more than $15-$20 off, the new stuff is going to be expensive and hard to get, and I always recommend people factor in the value of their time. But truly it’s up to the individual
I just built my first pc. I wanted to build one for almost a decade and with the price of the PS5 pro I couldn't be happier! I spent €1200 in Greece for the following: CPU: R5 7500F AliExpress Cooler: Thermalright Assassin Spirit EVO 120 rgb GPU: Gigabyte RX 6800XT Gaming OC used for €385 Motherboard: Asrock B650 Livemixer RAM: 32gb 6000 CL30 Fury Beast Storage: Kingston KC3000 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: Corsair RM850X Case: Fractal Design Pop Air
I put together a system with partially used parts. I got an amazing deal on a B550 board, 32gb of DDR4 3600 and Ryzen 7 5700g for $180. I went with the montech XR case and got an 850w high rated PSU hoping to spend big in November for a 7900 level GPU. Very interested in the rumored 8000 series GPUs.
Great value. I don't think I could go down to below 32 1440P for past few years my future 4K monitor has to be that or larger I feel. PS5 Pro beaten by PCs.
Jason the ps5 is alot closer to the 6700 rather than the 2070. It seems like, that is what it seems the system was based in it’s just a more power starved 6700. The shocks between the 2 are pretty similar.
Hi Jason. You have been a great source of knowledge and guidance. I have an issue that may not be appropriate here but I need to ask. I am building my first PC and have pretty much everything connected (don’t know if it is all correct yet). I am installing a Gigabyte 4090 OC, except when I opened it up they have a 16-pin to a 4- splitter of 8-pin connectors that would not fit my Corsair 1000 W PSU even if it was long enough. How are folks handling this? Amazon has the same type of connector with four splits that would fit the PSU… but the PSU 8-pin connectors only use 6 of the 8 pins in each connector. Is there a proper solution? Thank you for all of your help. Love your cat, I have 3.
Is that what you're looking for? If so I could try and help you pick out the parts. You could also check out the Lian Li A3 Case as it's a small Micro-ATX Case and would allow you to save on the Motherboard and PSU.
do you have any plans on uploading more often? I think you are the best channel about pc building on youtube right now and i want more content! (sorry im too broke for members channel :(
I just wanted to drop by to let you know how much I adore the video content you create. Your passion and creativity really shine through, and I find myself eagerly looking forward to each new piece you put out. Keep up the fantastic work-I’m always impressed and inspired by what you do! But I think that AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is too weak for AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT on 1920 × 1080 pixels screen resolution for General Tasks. This configuration has 28.7% of processor bottleneck .
Thanks! I wouldn't recommend 1080p for the 7700 XT, mostly because that GPU is a very good 1440p one but also to lessen the CPU bottleneck in games. I wouldn't worry about the FPS bottleneck on the desktop as those tasks are super easy for the GPU.
If you replace the RX 7600 with the RX 6650 XT in your $850 1440P Powerhouse Value PC, you could get it down to a mere $715, with all new parts. I don't know for sure if that'd be a PS5 Pro killer but if u were willing to hit the used market, you could get a 6750 XT or even a 6800 that should get you there, all for around $700-750.
Because AMD GPU offer better price to performance vs Nvidia for Gaming. For CPUs Intel 13th and 14th Gen K CPUs have issues so they're not currently recommended.
Been subscribed and watching your channel for years now and it has helped SO much figuring out my build. All the parts have finally arrived, just have to get time to assemble the PC. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, XFX Merc310 RX7900XT, MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk, WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD, 2X16 GB T-Force Vulcan 6000MHz CL 30 RAM, Corsair 4000D airflow, Corsair RM850E, Phantom Spirit 120 SE, Arctic P12 Max, MSI MPG 271QRX. Jason, I'm set to build the $1800 rig here, but will probably go with the 7700 or 7600 vs the 7800. any preference? This would be with the AsRock Gpu. Thanks, Bill
Jason says the 7700 isn't worth the extra over the 7600 unless you need the extra cores. Plus, I think the 7900X is a better value vs the 7700/7700X. The 7600/7600X is a good choice though.
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks, I used your exact $1800 build with the exception of the 7600X and the Tomahawk board. I hope I made the right choices. Thanks again
The 6800 is actually 359 at Best Buy right now so it is a valid option again, but with the 2 free games, is the 7700XT a better value at $20 more??? A good question to ask
IMO, base on some research I did, the sweet spot for a card that I can consider with "Value" for gaming would be either Rx 6750xt (Mid performance, does amazing in 1440p and extremely well in 1080p), Rx 6800 and xt variant (High performance, does extremely well in 1440p and 1080p), and possibly Rx 7900GRE (Extremely High performance, 7900gre is in a class of its own, if it weren't only with its price points I can consider purchasing a 7900GRE rn but I don't see myself really playing maxed out settings in games, but that 20gb vram is making me consider). So if your budgets for GPU are at 300$ below I suggest the 6750xt, if its 450$ I suggest the 6800xt (this card aged like fine wine and its basically the 7800xt at a lower cost), and if your budget is 550$+ best value would be the 7900gre. Anyways, great vid overall!

The XT is stronger than the GRE so if it fits your budget go for it. See our 7600 build guide for more in depth info on the 7600X
looking fit Jason. keep it up
Hey thanks! I appreciate that
I just built my first pc. I wanted to build one for almost a decade and with the price of the PS5 pro I couldn't be happier! I spent €1200 in Greece for the following:
CPU: R5 7500F AliExpress
Cooler: Thermalright Assassin Spirit EVO 120 rgb
GPU: Gigabyte RX 6800XT Gaming OC used for €385
Motherboard: Asrock B650 Livemixer
RAM: 32gb 6000 CL30 Fury Beast
Storage: Kingston KC3000 2TB NVMe SSD
PSU: Corsair RM850X
Case: Fractal Design Pop Air
@@-T--T- It was a great experience and luckily I didn't run into any problems.
Congrats on your build!
I put together a system with partially used parts. I got an amazing deal on a B550 board, 32gb of DDR4 3600 and Ryzen 7 5700g for $180. I went with the montech XR case and got an 850w high rated PSU hoping to spend big in November for a 7900 level GPU. Very interested in the rumored 8000 series GPUs.
i can say with confidence that is a ps5 killer at a very good price Jason. cpu is way more better than cpu of ps5 pro well done 😘
Thank you!
The shocks between the 2 are pretty similar.
free games is free games. yes please. awesome video!
Thank you! So glad it was helpful
Best builds for VR gaming...
Depends on what your budget is
I would love to see an ITX build @PCBuilderChannel
Is that what you're looking for?
If so I could try and help you pick out the parts.
You could also check out the Lian Li A3 Case as it's a small Micro-ATX Case and would allow you to save on the Motherboard and PSU.
Check out our mini tix build guide on the channel!
Dude I wish these monitor deals were in my country
do you have any plans on uploading more often? I think you are the best channel about pc building on youtube right now and i want more content! (sorry im too broke for members channel :(
Thank you! We generally do two uploads a week, Thursdays and Saturdays. That’s about all we can handle with our 3 person 3 cat team for now
I love your videos! I learn something every time. But I am always left wondering, when does Jason breathe? I love the pace!
I ain’t got time to breathe! (;
But so glad you are enjoying
Jason makes me want to build a PC soo Bad!
That’s a side effect of the channel for sure (;
I forgot about the hurricane! I’m glad you are all okay.
Thank you!
These builds are $3-5k in my country 😅 you guys are really lucky there
high refresh monitors are hard to sell cause most games are not optimized and most setups are not very powerful cause of cost
Carry on with the PS5 pro bashing, don't mind us 👌🏽
Great videos!
Thanks!
howdy Jason happy thursday
Should have gone gen4 for the m. 2 on the 850 build.
Hello Jason I'm back until the next round of hardware releases
Jason, I couldn't find the MSI MAG A-GL in the PSU cultist list, only the MAG A-BN
Hello, please tell me why you use Radeon in all assemblies
Because AMD GPU offer better price to performance vs Nvidia for Gaming.
For CPUs Intel 13th and 14th Gen K CPUs have issues so they're not currently recommended.
Because for most builders they are by far the best price to performance. See our latest Best GPUs for September video for more
congratulions on surviving hurricane! central europe is expecting heavy rain and floods, fun weekend inc .. not!
Thank you! It was quite an experience
love this videos!!!
Thank you!! Glad they are helpful
At my Costco here in Fairbanks AK, they have a 180hz 1440p HDR 400 Acer monitor at 31.5" for only $180
Been subscribed and watching your channel for years now and it has helped SO much figuring out my build.
All the parts have finally arrived, just have to get time to assemble the PC. AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, XFX Merc310 RX7900XT, MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk, WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD, 2X16 GB T-Force Vulcan 6000MHz CL 30 RAM, Corsair 4000D airflow, Corsair RM850E, Phantom Spirit 120 SE, Arctic P12 Max, MSI MPG 271QRX. Just need a keyboard/mouse combo with Cherry red silent keys. Suggestions? Thanks to you and your channel for your great and timely content! It is much appreciated.
What's your budget for this Keyboard and Mouse, and do you have a preference between Wired or Wireless.
@@kelley09162 wired, $150
@@tomvandervoort2437 so for the Mouse the Razer Basilisk V3 or DeathAdder V3
For the Keyboard there isn't many options with Cherry Red Keys but there are similar alternatives.
Are you looking for a Full Sized Keyboard?
@@kelley09162 yes, wanting the number pad, so no tenkeyless. Not big on rainbow fart RGB either.
Best wishes on the build!! I won’t really have a keyboard rec sorry. But show off a build pic when you’re done if you want on Twitter/threads @pcbuilderjason
Do I get warranty from Amazon on this stuff? Or does it come with good warranty already
I love reflection and realistic lights in video games. Is it true that AMD GPU's can't compete with Nvidia when ray tracing is on?
i subbed, great presentation
Thanks for the sub! Hope you keep enjoying the content?
Dang, I wish I could get these prices on GPUs in Canada! Cheapest RX 7700 XT I can find comes out to US$426 plus 13% tax where I live!
7600 is a great choice. You can check out our 7600 build guide video for even more info
Glad I watched this video before I rebuilt my PC. Went with the 7600X CPU and 7800XT Saphire Nitro+. What do you think?
Good choice, though Nitro+ GPUs are usually more expensive vs others models so usually not worth it
Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it.
@@kelley09162 Dang, it gets overwhelming with all the forums and suggestions.. I overpaid for the nitro+ by prob $100 vs going with a standard GPU... Could have just got the 7900GRE.
@@ShaneFlores21 that's okay. If you're happy with it that's what matters most.
Congrats on the rebuild, strong combo! And thanks for watching!
Jason could you please post the link to the updated PSU cultist list? Because I googled it but can't find it anywhere.
JASON - thank you for this great Info ! I just upgraded my Ryzen 5600X CPU to 5700X3D -- WHICH rgb COOLER do I need - AND is the ARCTIC MX-6 thermal paste good enough for this ????
Do you leave pcpartpicker links for the builds by any chance?
I don’t no, but all parts are linked in the description
what upgrade do you suggest to go 1440p perhaps tipping into 4K?
thanks

Can you make itx builds as well
Check out our mini itx build guide!
7700xt is 350$ on Amazon today
I want to upgrade my gaming setup, here is my rig- 10105f, rx6600, and 1080p 60hz monitor. Which one should I upgrade first?🤔
All three would be good upgrades. Depends on your budget.
aging backwards Jason! Good for you!
Haha thanks! We just got a new camera which probably helps (;
Any recommendations now?
We will have our new February build guides video coming out soon, but in the meantime check out our 7600X build guide and 9800X3D build guide depending on your budget

Im going to stick with the 7600x instead of the 7800x3d i could spend more money in the gpu... What you think? should i grab the 4070ti super?
Good combo
Would have gone with the Taichi Lite for the high end build at $240 (breaking the white rules, because who cares, it's such an absurd upgrade)
Jason, coming from the UK. I usually message you on my other account haha. I hope the storm has passed and everything is ok without any damage.
I just bought all the parts for my £1100 PC build.
7600 (non x)
ASRock B650M wifi
Montech XR
Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory (it was on offer so cheaper than TeamGroup)
ID cooling Frost Flow 240mm
However... I haven't bought a GPU. I'm looking at the 7900XT but I'm really worried that AMD is going to drop the RDNA 4 cards really soon and I'll waste my money and feel stupid in the Price to Performance departmernt.
What is your suggestion? I'm thinking of trying to borrow a friend's 1080ti for 6 months becasue at the moment I only play CS2 anyway.
7900XT is a good choice. The 7900GRE is also good if you want to save money.
@@kelley09162 Those are the two im looking at! Worried that something will come out in the next few months that has much better price to performance. Or that I could get 7900xtx performance for price of GRE or 7800xt etc

@PCBuilderChannel sure i guess so
Everyone says about 12 gb vram on 4070 but I play 4k all the time on. Mine no problems.
